I think that was the moment I knew nothing could salvage the movie.

Yes, let me kill a room full of my own personnel who joined the government, were trained by said government, passed a litany of security screenings, obtained various security clearances, and have sworn themselves to protect the country and follow my every order. Now, let me trust my well-being to a bunch of criminals who want to kill me but are only stopped from doing so because I've placed bombs in their heads that can only be triggered by about one person on the team in relative proximity to them.

I mean the movie has its problem, but I thought the whole point of killing them was she couldn't have anything that tied back to her failure causing the disaster. And no one would believe the word of criminals (who she also kind of picked because were expendable)

hahahahahahaha

Imagine if this turns out amazing; if it outperforms Guardians 3 critically AND commercially it'll be the biggest case of just desserts for both the MCU and Disney

I could see Gunn doing good things with Smith. Heck, at this point I'd be absolutely up for a Suicide Squad vs Batman movie.

Bane is LATINO

Cast a LATINO

it's fucking infuriating how if this was a black or asian role no one would fucking dare suggest change their background

I swear there's been at least 10 posters asking for Bautista as Bane, how is this cool?
This is something that does indeed worry me. SS had a diverse cast, whatever you think of the writing for some characters that was super important. That diversity is why the film did as well as it did and attracted the demographics it did. I don't want to see that tossed out and I fear that its going to be.

The whole Gunn thing was a self inflicted wound on the part of Disney, but that fact that it benefited their direct superhero movie competition is all the more hilarious.

Margot Robbie is staying. She has money invested in DC movies. She wants that franchise.

Curious, he seems like a decent fit for that.
Disney is just bunch of dumbasses.

On the other hand, if it doesn't we're going to see people fight over conspiracy theories about Disney having critics in their pockets and meltdowns about Gunn not being the reason Guardians had been successfull with the public.

It's going to be popcorn.gif no matter what. Best timeline.

Super excited about this news. Gunn was did a brilliant job with GotG and I'd love to see his take on Suicide Squad. Give him full control over everything, I want to see him write, direct, and choose the cast. This could be the shot in the arm DC needs, having Gunn handle some of their villains has great potential.

The only problem I see is that literally everyone not named Margot Robbie needs to be recast. What a horrendously cast movie.

I would argue that Gunn coming back to the scene for a Suicide Squad movie is more Kronk's New Groove than Emperor's.

So basically Not the Guardians at all™

Cool that we might get a Suicide Squad movie that's not ass and completely ignores continuity because I guess there is no internal universe structure to these films anymore which is their prerogative, but it seems real derivative.

The problem is her backfired plan was approved by everyone at the higher levels of the government. It wasn't like some tight secret she could bury. Why kill the very people who are at least loyal to you?

If they're not going to do a real reboot, its the next best thing I guess.

Yup.

Shame to see the MCU's legacy will be tarnished by pandering to the alt-right, but hey, Feige and them made their beds.

Guardians 3 needs to flop out of general principle.
