I will say, completely partial in this regard, I'm just happy to get some DC news that people are reacting positively to for a few hours!
I can't see them recasting people that were popular like Harley, Deadshot, or Waller. I mean, you keep those three and just replace the rest with new villains and it's a new movie. Put in Killer Frost, a bruiser or some kind, and one more. I'd even keep Flagg and Katanna.

Maybe DC-only fans will stop talking mess about GOTG and GOTG2 like they're not fun films. All in for this. Smart of WB to pick him up.

Yup. I like GotG1 quite a bit, but really didn't care for GoTG2 at all. Not sure why Gunn being on a DC movie is supposed to change that.
Free yourself from loving only one heroic universe. There's goodness and joy everywhere.
Same reason folks who hates Bendis at Marvel are all onboard now that he's at DC. Some folks get weird about folks who aren't playing for their team. It's best to just go where the goodness is. James Gunn is a good creator, as Bendis is. If Disney is dumb enough to let him go, I'm glad WB and DC are picking him up.

Not a big fan of GOTG but I'm interested to see what he will do with the franchise, it cant be worse than the first one.
That's always a possibility regardless, but Gunn is a solid creator.

Reading the OT thread, you do also see the opposite with Marvel stans implying Wonder Woman trash and so on. People are weird.
Anyway, I don't like the suggestion of Batista as Bane. If he had to be involved, there are other characters to play.
I love Slither and he wrote the Dawn of the Dead remake which I like so I'll always check out what he's done.
Of course, that's why you just go where there's good stuff. I'll watch Valiant's films if they're good.
I like that Aquaman got the Wonder Woman 1 guy composing. Hopefully he works up a good theme.
With Superman dead, Wonder Woman is the only character with a strong recognizable theme.
Upside of Whedon/Elfman on Justice League was Zimmer hearing what was done and coming back for Wonder Woman 1984.
I'd be perfectly fine with them just straight-up using the either of the animated Justice League themes.
Patty Jenkins already course corrected it with Wonder Woman. Then Whedon then turned hard right and capsized it. Of the numerous mistakes with Justice League, not delaying it was one of the big ones.
They drank the kool-aid on that one. Then they tried to sell us that story that Snyder was collaborating with him on the reshoot scenes lol.
What a crock.

iirc King Shark was gonna be in Suicide Squad 1, but they didn't want a full CGI character so they went with Croc.

I'm on record with the fact the GoTG2 is one of my favorite Marvel movies. I'm hyped.
We can at least expect a better made movie than what we've been getting. It may not be exactly what everyone wants but I'm confident that it will be a good movie. I'm also confident that he will reign in the humor and have it be appropriate to the source.
If Gunn is a comics guy, I also hope he gets in on the creative table for the DCEU. Marvel wanted him to spearhead the MCU cosmic world so he must know what he's doing.

If we get GOTG 1 gunn and not GOTG 2 gunn, WB in a good spot. Didn't really care for part 2, it had good moments and all, but it never reached the highs of part 1 for me.
Pretty high, I'd say. I can't imagine WB would ask him to write the script if they weren't hoping he'd direct the film as well. Probably all down to what Gunn wants to do.
