I'm a huge Tetris fan, but I'm actually going to wait and see what kind of options there are when you're playing on a TV. In the footage I've seen, the game field takes up wayyyyy too little of the screen for my liking.

I understand the reasoning is that the visual effects need space and are an important part of what they're going for with this game, but that might make it a pass for me, personally.

I think it goes without saying that the playfield will be a LOT bigger than that. That screenshot is trying to convey the view in VR, and includes a bunch of peripheral vision.

We can assume this will eventually find its way onto Vive right? Rez Infinite eventually came to Steam; Sony isn't shelling money out for this one are they? I'd just rather not dig out the PSVR if I don't have to (but all these reviews for Astro Bot are making me consider picking it up)

Also included for pre order :

Tetris® Effect Yours Forever Dynamic Theme
Tetris® Effect Original-Soundtrack-Sampler
Tetris® Effect 7 Avatars

Holy fuck does the theme play the song? I need to see it in action. Cause there's so many games on my plate I can't get to TE just yet, BUT I could just buy the theme until I get the time to actually play the game.

PS store page says there's 7 tracks in the sample soundtrack. Really wish it was all of them but it should be like Lumines and you can easily put them on your phone.

Game says 30 stages, so guessing there are going to be at least 30 tracks in the main game. Also, they want to sell that OST, which I'm down for. 7 track sampler feels like a nice pre-order bonus to me. I was expecting 40, so it coming in with a pre-order discount means I'm buying this, this week, probably with Red Dead 2.

I know it probably sounds weird but I think I'm more interested in the OST than in the game itself.

I prefer download for a game like Tetris.

Don't want to switch every time the disc for a few Tetris rounds.
Remains to be seen if it's a Tetris with staying power. Axis, my current "Tetris of choice," was definitely a game I shifted from physical to digital on (bought both) without regrets. So I hear ya... as someone who has played Tetris just about every day since 1989. :)

I thought this would be a $30 game so I'm surprised it's $40, but it looks so good! I can't decide if I should get the digital or physical version though.

I'm hyped for this game but I'm more hyped to potentially get a longer version of the trailer song.

The Connected (Yours Forever) song from the OST sampler is listed as the "trailer edit." so bad news for those who thought they were getting the full song. The trailer edit is great but there's gotta be more to it than that.

I am confident it should have a lot of staying power on my hard drive :)

Was looking forward to it. But i don't have VR and 40 bucks for a Tetris game is too freaking much. And Tetris needs to be portable to be truly usefull to me.

It's 10 percent off on PSN now if you pre-order. Unfortunately it also looks like all the extras are unavailable until release.

I couldn't care less about PSVR, but this game is from the guy that made Lumines, so he gets my money.

Hope we get a demo at some point
Link above makes mention of some sort of demo, though it might be a trade show thing:

Don't worry, we have lots more to talk Tetris Effect to show and tell you about—over 30 stages and 10 unique modes worth! Keep an eye out for more info and media impressions coming at the end of October, and if you're still not convinced, more details on where and how you can try the game for yourself as part of our public weekend trial demo…

That box art is beautiful! Best Buy GCU will make this an easier pill to swallow.

Hope we get a demo at some point
There will be, although it sounds like a limited time thing:

I preordered it on PSN since it was 10% off but I'm bummed the trailer song is literally exactly the song from the trailer. Gotta be more to it than this.

This was the most fun game I played at E3 this year (but I have a strong preference for Puzzle Games and Mizuguchi, so yrmv), so super excited to play it. The VR definitely added to the element, but I don't think I'm gonna get a VR system just for this game... although it is tempting.

Yeah, that price is too high for Tetris, VR or not. I'm hyped for the game, but I'll get it on Sale when they can go nearer to £20

Seems like the music sampler application is broken.

The /MUSIC directory could not be found.

Make sure the USB storage has a /MUSIC directory.

Cool, thanks. I'll keep my eye out for it. I think vr demos are really important, I won't buy most games without trying it first

Hyped, Day 1 for physical edition. Keeping this VR buzz going all winter. Might even double dip on digital down the line when it's on sale.

Getting the same error anybody know how to fix this?
Insert a USB stick (Fat32 or ExFAT formatted) into your PS4, make sure it has a folder called MUSIC on it, and that the PS4 recognizes it under storage devices. It needs just under 50MB of free space.

The app on PS4 just copies the music onto your USB stick in MP3 format so you can listen on the PS4 or on your other devices. It worked for me. Sucks that the USB ports on the front of the pro can't fit thick USB sticks, so make sure you use a stick that actually fits. I suppose a USB hard drive would work too, as long as it's not one that you're using as external storage for PS4 games.

The sample tracks fill 20 minutes 4 seconds. The artist on all of them is listed as Hydelic, the same in-house group that did the Rez Infinite Area X music.

Was hyped for this game but worried they would fuck up the price and they did. It's almost $60 in Canada... for Tetris. If it was half the price I'm game but now I'll have to pass until a sale and considering how stubborn they've been with Rez sales it's going to be a long wait.
