Indeed, those reinforce the point. He's an extremely boring filmmaker.
Thanks for entering a thread about Rian Johnson's next film to let everyone else know that because of Rian Johnson's last film you won't be watching his next film despite never actually having any interest in watching his next film regardless of how you felt about his last film.

We salute ye and your superior intellect, which shall be studied by members here for ages beyond your passing.

This movie sounds like it's gonna be good and it has a pretty good cast. Lakeith Stanfield does annoy me nowadays and I can't quite place my finger on why, but he's a good actor.

People who constantly bring up The Last Jedi as reason to avoid a different movie sound like complete and utter idiots.

I'm always down for whodunit murder movies. I actually watched Evil under the Sun just yesterday.
Johnson's movies have been soso for me, watched two of them, liked one, disliked the other.

Also Daniel Craig is in this, I'm tempted to check this out just because of that fact.

A friendly reminder not to turn this into yet another Last Jedi thread.

Yeah Lakeith is great. Ever since Darius in Atlanta, I'd watch anything that dude is in.

Also Rian directed GOAT SW movie so yeah. IN

Everyone except Chris Evans sounds good! I am interested.

Hes almost mannequin-esque bland in his captain America role but I dont think thats his fault. Dude can be fairly charismatic when actually given the chance to

Cast for this is dope and after Brick I'm ready for another detective flick from Johnson

And Looper. And Brick.

I, too, hate good cinema.

I thought The Brothers Bloom was pretty good too.....

I know it was Johnsons most divisive film before The Last Jedi but I enjoyed it. It's too clever by half but totally makes up for all of its flaws for casting Mark Ruffalo and Adrien Brody as brothers. So beautiful and absurd.

Death Note tho....

I like him a lot as an actor aside from that. Craig and Evans too just make this a great cast all around.
Man Lakeith was the one good part of Death Note, that dude gave 110% even in the interviews lmao

I'm all for this, of course. I welcome a return to Johnson's smaller twisty mystery films before zooming back off to a galaxy far far away.

Brothers Bloom is basically my favorite film of all time.

Because of the Last Jedi? He's written some very good films.

Especially because of the Last Jedi. Conceptually Looper was great and the idea was near perfect, but there were some glaring writing here and there that detracted heavily from the movie. Brick was just alright imo.

I can't cosign this. Dude did an awful rendition of L. The only good part of Death Note was Dafoe as Ryuk.

I hope he does another meta plothole acknowledgement to ward off the haters. I just watched Looper again and had forgotten about my favorite part where Bruce Willis goes "we can talk about time travel all day, draw diagrams and shit, IT DOESNT MATTER!" when Jospeh started asking about the technicalities of time travel. Almost wish he looked right into the camera when he did it.

Same shit could have been done in TLJ. You wanna get bogged down in the technicalities of space travel or do you wanna watch a fuckin movie?
