CRA is gonna break into top 5 Rom Coms of all time

c1d95b7ec7.png

It's been out for a while. Does it have enough left in the tank to make it there?
It made $5.5m total for last week. Even if it continues the same declines week after week, it should have enough to pass Something About Mary. How much higher than that is a question though.

I saw "A Star is Born" last night and honestly wish I had seen Venom or any other movie instead. One of the least enjoyable movies I've ever been to. Even my wife who normally loves these types of movies left it feeling just "meh". Gaga's performance lacked any soul, she felt one note and boring the whole time. The plot just coasted for 3/4 of the movie and the last 1/4 was so frustratingly stupid it's hard to any stomach. Her inability to actually show sadness really ruined the ending.

I'm down for more Venom if they continue with Tom Hardy making one movie while everyone else is trying to make another.
A Star Is Born is fantastic. Made me cry like a baby. Gaga has the best original song oscar on lock down. Good shot at best actress.
Gaga will lose to Teen Titans GO! To The Movies.

If it's really as bad as people say it is, Venom should have a big drop next week due to bad word of mouth. But a strong opening weekend like this is enough to make it profitable and basically guarantee a sequel.
Word of mouth didn't seem bad. I've seen many review among the line of saying it's a bad movie, but entertaining/fun/not bored etc.

I am not expecting good legs per se, but I don't think that Venom is going to see anything approaching BvS' drop next weekend. I am thinking low 60s drop.

This is quite the opinion.

No thanks, please keep this garbage away from the MCU. I'd rather there be no Venom in the MCU than this Venom.

Well fortunately there's no chance of this Venom being in the MCU. I'm just referring to all the people who were "omg it's Venom and it has Tom Hardy, I must see it!!!!" and didn't care.

People were delusional to think Venom wouldn't make a shit ton of money.

Not to be dramatic, but in what universe would an R-rated musical drama open bigger than a superhero blockbuster with Spider-man's (arguably) most iconic villain?

People's hatred of Venom was getting so bad that several posters here legitimately thought that A Star is Born would open higher than Venom.

It seems silly now but anger can make you think a lot of irrational things.

Watched Venom with a group of people that is not familiar with comic books and they all liked it. It is obviously anecdotal but the cinema I went to was full of people laughing at the fun scenes and at the end of the movie it looked like other people enjoyed it as well, so I think it will have good word of mouth.

100m budget, 200m made after three days. I expect a hard sudden drop next weekend but they've pretty much already made their money.

I still believe that Venom drops like an absolute rock next week and overall doesn't have an amazing run.

I'll admit that part of that is personal hope.

It was a bad, bad movie. Yet the guys who were in my theater were whooping it up. I'm guessing they were 90s kids for whom venom was a still a big deal and that's all that mattered . This will be a huge drop off next week.

Venom looks so garbage in that image. Going to probably watch it today to see what it's like today.

I feel the sentient that venom will have a massive drop off next week is the new venom will have a low opening weekend. I don't think it all a particular low drop or even standard but expecting an expecting low drop feels a bit odd. This thing has decent word of mouth and it's daily drops over the weekend weren't bad
