$65m for Venom is good if you assume legs.
If not (which I don't), then uhhh... it might have a rough time.
For what it's worth "Are you gonna watch Venom tonight?" was asked at least six times at work by different people. This one might pull a Suicide Squad.
Come on $85m!!!!!Deadline updated Venom to $77-80M, off of a $32M Friday, and A Star is Born to $44M this weekend.
i'm shocked that Australia is at 15 million for CRAImpressed with the holds Crazy Rich Asians has. Same goes for A Simple Favor.
Searching dropped below a million but it had to happen sooner or later.
The new Goosebumps look like the same as the first one but with a new cast except for Black
It means absolutely nothing either waySo I went on the RT website and saw that the audience score was high. Does that mean this movie might have some good legs?
Terrible movie. For anyone who wants a 10 second recap....
terribleTerrible movie. For anyone who wants a 10 second recap....
- First 10 minutes
- Ignorant GF doesn't know BF is a rich Singapore guy
- BF invites GF to join him in Sinagpore for a wedding, and then surprise her with his own marriage proposal
- Next hour is watching rich Singapore people, giant houses, fast cars and exotic beach sets. Think Lifestyles of Rich and Famous tv show. Includes stereotypical Asian dude with chop socky English shooting rocket launchers off a container ship
- Next half hour is BF's mom being a snob and hates Americans and poorer class people
- Mom and GF bitch and moan leading to crying
- Odd sub plot that doesn't fit the movie but pops up every 20 minutes.... BF's buddy is married to a rich hot Asian chick. She puts him down as a poor boy, so he cheats on her and she finds out. Marriage in tatters
- Final half hour GF makes a stand while playing mahjong, and the mom changes heart
- BF proposes anyway, and the mom approves by giving him her huge ass emerald wedding ring as a symbol of approval
- Everyone is happy and more expensive sets are shown
- The end

Australia has a significant Asian (or of Asian decent) population so it's not a shock to me. The only shocking thing about CRA is that Warner still aren't gonna release it over here in the Nordics, for no apparent reason (romantic comedies tend to play well).
Bad Times at the El Royale $9,500,000 -14% $30,000,000 -12%
Hunter Killer $11,000,000 -21% $32,000,000 -21%
Halloween $65,000,000 +8% $160,000,000 +7%
RT user scores don't correlate to anythingSo I went on the RT website and saw that the audience score was high. Does that mean this movie might have some good legs?
Oh I just thought that would mean people are enjoying the film and WoM is good. Nvm then. I just want Sony to learn to not fuck shit up too much.
What audience score did Venom get anyway? (Cinemascore)
B+
The suicide squad and justice league score
In addition, Venom gets a B+ CinemaScore which is an audience grade on par with Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (B+, $91.6M opening),Warner Bros.' Justice League (B+, $93.8M), Sony's Spider-Man 3 (B+, $151.1M debut), Warners' Suicide Squad (B+, $133.6M) and ahead of Warners' Batman v. Superman (B, $166M);
Wow who really the fuck knows how this is going to do legs wise, it could very be the next Oscar Winning Suicide Squad.
As someone who works as an usher at a movie theater I have to say: Fuck Venom and it's decade long credit sequence. I was way behind schedule all day yesterday because of it.
It does go on forever, the audience in the first showing were getting antsy for it to be over too. The five minute long Into The Spiderverse sequence didn't help matters either. They paid all that money for Eminem. They wanted to hold people hostage until it was finished. But the regular scrawl after the first stinger did seem to go on forever.
Look forward to Venom 2: Electric Googaloo coming to you in 2020

Sounds like all those tendrils ain't gonna make up for a lack of legs.

Worth noting is that Assassination Nation is nowhere to be seen I do wonder wh-
Oh.
What a way to describe happiness, and excitement, "Mr. Body Language Expert". :PIt does go on forever, the audience in the first showing were getting antsy for it to be over too.
Look, I already forgot that it existed. But uh yeah, its PTAs this week have been on the weak side... to say the least. Unless there is multiple typosWait. Don't bury the lead. Pepperment's PTA was $16. A 2 ticket average across 800+ venues. I wonder if Mojo forgot a zero or something. Crazy if not.
And to think, Peppermint was beating Unbroken 2 PTA earlier this week, only for a Path to Redemption to happen on the weekend.Look, I already forgot that it existed. But uh yeah, its PTAs this week have been on the weak side... to say the least. Unless there is multiple typos
