There's a pretty egregious uncorrected error in both the thread title and the OP.
I just found this while browsing a subreddit, this happened like a year ago and somehow none said anything about this
There was a thread about this on the old place immediately after it happened where people berated and condemned him for it. And people continue to bring it up in every single Dunkey thread on Era, without fall, to this day. There is no shortage of people in our community willing to condemn homophobic slurs, regardless of who says them. It is disingenuous to suggest this incident was "swept under the rug".
Personally, I feel just as strongly now as I did then that this kind of language cannot be accepted, whatever the context. However, I am also willing to forgive people who have genuinely made a mistake and corrected it. As far as I'm aware (and I could be wrong, please correct me if I am!), this is the only time Dunkey has ever been recorded using that word, and he has not used it once since. If I saw evidence of Dunkey behaving as a serial homophobe I would drop him immediately and stop watching his videos.
That's just my opinion, however, and I understand there are those who feel that "even once is too much" and cannot forgive him. What I can't tolerate, however, is the level of vitriol being thrown back and forth in this thread in-between those who are trying to have an actual conversation on this serious issue. There should be no hatred between members in what is a distinctly anti-hatred discussion - unless you are genuinely a homophobe, in which case, thank you for making your offensive views public so that you can be banned :).
