Kassandra's amazing, I'm instantly in love with her character. Playing as an actually likeable protagonist is a nice change from certain other games I've recently played.

Did the other AC games have realistic waves on shore? This is such a great touch.

This however, is super cringe

What do you think of PTR, mate? I'm not so sure. I'm still hyped for Thronebreaker, but I think Homecoming needs more time. A lot more time. The visual overhaul of the game is fantastic. Now that the cards are larger, you can actually see the incredible art. The premiums are fantastic now. Boards are good, 3D leaders are super rough.

I'm finding the actual gameplay to be way to slow. Might be because I'm used to oldGwent. At the same they've . If you play Eithne, the rope gets taken up by the time her super slow animations have played.

They're removing a lot of cards, to release later as expansions, but they haven't added that much new. Doesn't help with the staleness. Most of the old mechanics (discard, axemen, consume, deathwish, traps, ect) are still there, just changed. The only really new mechanics are order, charges and zeal. Charges being a NR specific. Provisions are better than the old hard limit though.

---

Unrelated, where do you guys sell your Humble Keys? I have a metric ton, around 150 unused from years of bundle collecting, and would rather make some of the $$ back, I'll never be able to play them.

I think people who purchase microtrash are kinda new to gaming. No way an old gamer would purchase cheat codes like that... I don't believe it.

Well... not necessarily. The permanent +50% Xp isn't so much a cheat code as a time saver. If you have limited time to play (as most older gamers do) but have disposable income, then yea that's their target. People who are younger and can dump 60 hours into the game have no use for it since they will do all the side content or random stuff anyway and have no purpose for more XP.

Also worth noting, the only thing the bonus XP is good for is getting through the main quest with less side stuff, because the level gating is so aggressive. Again, you don't need the bonus if you do the side stuff anyway. Which makes it a quality-of-life thing, to me.

Yup I think people would be surprised that the demographic is in fact older as it's a matter of having more money than time for many.

I worked at a mobile studio which made great money with f2p. Once a year they flew out the biggest spenders to spend a day at the studio.

One year the demographic was

an older war veteran (in his 50s or 60s) , he was disabled and just really enjoyed playing. He looked so enthused to be visiting and had lots of ideas on the game.

A Middle Aged woman. Nothing remarkable about her. She had a career and family.

And the third person couldn't show up. Was a doctor and he had to miss because of work.

The xp boost or time saver has been around for a long time. I used to also think it was newer gamers but now I am not sure.

We know people are buying because games keep expanding their offerings.

Man ZeroRanger is one fo the best game to be released this year. Intelligent presention, fantastic music, addictive gameplay, and amazing design. If you're a lover of shmups or just games in general this is such a treat. It's sop much more than just a shoot'em up.

It's currently sitting at 100% with 47 reviews.

Yeah, SotTR looks great:
4883CD73CABB8D28210A5A3B09AA363385FC9371

I hope I'll somehow manage to finish it before the end of this year, but this hope becomes more and more unrealistic with each day, played 11 hours already and still finished only 14-15% of the game.

Well RDR2 is coming so i had to wrap SotTR :D I finished main game after 21h of playing.

So, um, I haven't played AC games since Black Flag and heard something about microtransactions in newer games of this series, but I was still stunned when I saw this:
38BADABAC72C128F007432118E115B94714B80AA

Upgrade your character? Get more resources to become stronger? Bullshit currency balance? Time savers?! WTF is this shit, why this crap in a 60$ game? I'm not sure yet how optional it is, but that's definitely not what I expect to see in the game that I've already paid money, that's something straight from F2P mobile games. But it looks like everyone is fine with this shit, no outrage except those few Polygon articles but it didn't go anywhere as far as I can see. I still remember that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was slaughtered for crap like this, and yet it's everywhere now and no one seems to care, which is weird for me.

MTX in Assassin's Creed games were always things you could ignore. Main issue for me is that they charge like 10-15$ for costume and horse. Those are not MICROtransactions anymore. And i don;t like that they introduced separate currency for in-game store where you can get some of them. In previous entries you could go and buy maps for collectibles for example and those were timesavers. But they are pushing it more and more with new entries and games.

Can't say I give two shits about the micro-transactions in Odyssey. It's easy as fuck to ignore.

And like r3n4ud said, use a trainer. I did with Origins, I will even after Denuvo try to declare us criminals.

You cant, they introduced new currency (to buy some items in special story) that is stored on server.

I'm hyped for Thronebreaker as well. I feel like I should like a single-player campaign which explores the lore of the Witcher and which is based on Gwent. I have tried not to watch any video to avoid any spoiler.

As for Homecoming, I have just played a bit so far. It is a bit hard for now, I need to get accustomed to the cards before I can enjoy the game again: I don't recognize anything because everything is changed, so it feels really weird.

I'm with you with the good points: a nice visual overhaul, larger cards. As for the bad points, I agree with you: the game is super slow. It does not help that 1) there are Order abilities on a low cooldown which you manually activate and then you have to choose a target, 2) you have to manually end each turn. I also have a hard time distinguishing the bronze and the gold cards, since the card borders are thinner and the game visuals have a darker tone.

Unrelated, where do you guys sell your Humble Keys? I have a metric ton, around 150 unused from years of bundle collecting, and would rather make some of the $$ back, I'll never be able to play them.

This is the place where I buy from:

I'd like some opinions if any of y'all have been keeping in the know with current hardware. In terms of value is an 8086k worth getting over an 8700k at a $40CDN difference?

I haven't gotten too far into it (still struggling somewhere in stage 4), but I've had the music in my head ever since. The presentation is top notch.

I was wondering that myself recently. I would guess the answer is no as Steam can't generate widgets for missing games.
I see thanks. The game doesnt even show up for me on my wishlist while in that game's region even if i search for it so i shouldn't expect an email of it on sale :p

You can. The currency is irrelevant. You don't need to purchase the boost, you can just use a trainer to make your own boost.

You can boos XP via trainer. You can't boost your currency for that black market or whatever is called like you could boost gold in Origins and purchase tons of Heka chests.

So, played an hour in AC Odyssey, and so far I can tell only about my experience with photo-mode and graphics overall. It's... Far from perfect, implementation of AA in this game is my biggest concern so far - yeah, it looks fine during gameplay if you playing it in 4K, but on screenshots it's clearly visible that this game using some shitty reconstruction technic that renders image in lower resolution and then applies it on final render output with very uneven results. Some objects can look fine, but some other with tiny edges look like they have holes in them, pixels all over the place, sometimes it affects shadows as well. I also have some doubts about the depth of field implementation and some other effects in this game. Lightning and textures work seems fine though.
At least performance seems stable, I've managed to get only 45-50 FPS in 4K, but since there are no tearing and noticeable freezes with adaptive vsync turned on, it feels more or less playable. Need to play more before saying anything about gameplay.

Is there any coupon around for Green Man Gaming?
Or for first time buyers at the Razer store?

I would like to pre-order Space Hulk: Tactics, but I was hoping to find an additional discount, since the best price I can find is still over 30 euros.

Last GMG voucher I got was WAW20 which expires on the 10th. 20% off but I'm not sure what titles it applies to.

The mission design in Valkyria Chronicles 4 continues to be amazing.
It's not 100% consistent, but there are a ton of great and incredibly diverse missions.

It's definitely one of the best things about the game.
Pretty much every mission has some unique mechanics, elements or challenges to it.
If the balancing would be more fine tuned i'd even go so far as to say it's on par if not above games like War- and Starcraft.

That Valve HQ thread might be a new low in Valve threads.

Also, I'm pretty sure those screens play a selection of random YouTube videos. I seem to remember one of the people who did a tour saying that.

Valve could rescue a litter of puppies from drowning in a river and half of era would be like: "Those assholes intervene in natural selection but have no time to work on Half-Life 3!"

The saddest thing was when Krejlooc listed the mountain of work Valve does to help developers, programmers and software engineers. And the response was: "yeah, I don't care, it isn't games"

I feel shitting on Valve is just a convenient way for many to piss on PC gaming, ultimately.
They don't make a nice looking box they can put under their TVs, and they also don't make any "real games", so how dare they be successful?! For all the issues with and around Valve, the fact that they aren't a profit driven publicly owned company makes them still just about the best platform holder around.
And hey, they made Steam and essentially saved PC gaming, so as far as I care they could do nothing but swim in their deserved money bin, they earned it.

Some people are also still mad many Japanese console or PS4 exclusives are releasing on PC because of Steam.

That Valve thread clearly shows that nothing changed, and why i still only post on this one if i want to talk about something related to PC.

Finished Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It was good, but a bit rough at points compared to what I remember of the last two entries. I think I liked the shift in focus away from combat? I'm looking forward to the season pass starting.

So... Has anyone else had the problems with Mega Man 11 not starting up? I can't get the game to go past opening then immediately closing.

What is the store that is selling a Mega Man bundle containing all the games for $60? Or is that offer over?

That is a bizarre issue and you are the 2nd person so far to have this issue.
Try a few things
1 play the game windowed and/or
2 run as administrator
I've tried administrator for both the game and steam, that doesn't work. It already starts in a window, it pops up with a black 1920x1080 window that closes itself within a second. I've also tried just about every compatibility mode that's available, those don't work either.
