Can always trust a republican to do the wrong thing every time. Party over country. Dems should begin the attack ads on her. Get that seat in 2020.

There are no moderate republicans. Never let anyone convince you otherwise. They are evil and do not care for you.
Murkowski is the only one in the Senate, because she literally got primaried by the Tea Party, survived it as a write in, and thus the GOP needs her more than she needs them. Also because she relies on Dem crossover votes for reelection.

I can't imagine being a woman in the judicial system right now, watching this happening in real time. Watching a fucking sexually abusive Republican stooge propped up to the highest court in the nation.

I'm just going to assume she's voting yes. I can't listen to this anymore

Turned CNN on for 3 seconds, heard her say how awesome Kav was with pre-existing conditions, turned it right back off.

Republicans are boldy moving forward to completely cripple democracy.

I know this supposedly energized the Rep base, but shouldnt getting what they want settle the base right back down? We got beat, go home, dont worry bout that vote thing anymore, you got this.

As much as I hate this nomination, I can't disagree with her. Special interest groups on our side were opposed to to the nomination before even knowing the name to put on their signs. :(
I try not to engage in "what-about-ism" but considering that that Republicans completely ignored Obama's pick, but republicans getting upset about people playing politics is, at this point, certifiably insane. Particularly when you look at what they pulled with Merrick Garland.

Today Trump slammed the people who said they were sexually assaulted and said that they were paid plants by George Soros.

This nomination has shown how poorly women are treated in our society to a group of people who haven't wanted to hear this kind of abuse exists. They'd rather get a win because ... why? I dunno. Owning the libs? Because they don't want to see American move forward? Because they couldn't stand that a black man was president for 8 years? Look at who they put in place AFTER Obama. Trump is the personification of EVERY SINGLE THING that Republicans warned us about yet they're rushing forward to do his bidding with little thought to the damage those things could do to the fabric of our democracy. Why? What's the point of this? Especially in light of the obstruction republicans were a part of for all of Obama's presidency. So in this case I feel like the whataboutism is relevant because the republicans' records show they don't actually give a fuck about the rules, they only care that another side is putting up a stink in regards to the direction they want to go in. When people do the same thing that they always do, they cry foul. It's maddening.

Further, there are other judges that could have been put up in place of Kavanaugh but they've all doubled down on this guy. Why? Collins and the rest of the republicans ignoring ALL of the issues with Kavanaugh (sexual assault allegations, his help with the bush administration's torture policy, the shit he pulled with Clinton, and his response to questioning) lends credence to the idea that the reason they're trying to install Kavanaugh is because he'll look the other way when we learn how corrupt the republicans are after Mueller's probe hits the public sphere and give them a pass. Couple that with Kavanaugh's view on if you can or cannot indict a sitting president gives the impression that our own representatives don't care about the rule of law or the will of the people. They only care about the power they have and how that power can make them rich. It undermines the basis of our democracy in a way that produces cracks that will not be fixable.

I really didn't expect this much of a resounding speech of support for Barto, I thought it was going to be more of a reluctant call for "regular order". It seems she really is digging in her heels and siding completely with the republican dogma

I mean sure it sucks, but at least she's going by the law and basing her opinions on his past action on the court, which I expect a Senator to do

A credibly accused sexual predator is going to destroy a woman's autonomy over her own body.

How can any woman watch Ford's testimony and side with BK even after his testimony?

I'm watching our country be destroyed and shit on live on Youtube. What a fucking time we live in. I can't stand this shit anymore.

I seriously don't know how much longer I can stand living with these scumbags having any shred of power. The past 2 years have been a living hell. Looking forward to another 20-30.

It's like this speech was written a month ago and she didn't bother to update it.
