A similar package is not on PSN, yet. There's an "All-in-one" package with these two collections + KH3 included. Maybe you're looking at the price for that.

So, there's the PS3 collections of the previous games, the PS4 ports of those collections, the "new" 2.8 collection and now the collection of all the previous collections.

Does SE have a collection problem? :P

The most shocking thing about this is how normal the subtitle is.

I was expecting something like "the bridge to the last final ultimate battle omnicron 6.99/34 days"

I guess Nomura is really busy on wrapping up KH3

KH1 has not aged well at all, especially if you have never played it at all. Its far from a timeless classic

all things considered the .5 and .8's actually help explain that you're not just getting one game remastered. Birth by Sleep and Chain of Memories are both pretty meaty experiences, and then you have the movies on top of those

y'know what'd be nice for this though? If they upgraded Final Chapter Prologue to better resemble KH3. Especially Mickey's mouth situation.

I think this is mostly the Western side handling it.
The Japanese all-in-one collection name is "Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece"

1.5 is an enhanced version of 1 which has a game set between 1 and 2.

2.5 is similar although the extra game is a prequel. But it's supposed to be watched after 2.

2.8 is just because they wanted a number close to 3 that wasn't 3 that they could jam the remaining spinoffs into. It's supposed to be a prologue to 3.

For those confused by the numbering, It's easier if you just treat KH3 as KH7: The Final Chapter.

KH1: Ansem
KH2: Chain of Memories
KH3: 358/2 Days
KH4: Xemnas
KH0: Birth by Sleep
KH5: Recoded
KH6: Dream Drop Distance
KH7 Prologue : Aqua
KH7: Xenahort Final Chapter

Eh, I dunno. 1.5+2.5 and 2.8 separately are 19.99 right now, and I've seen 1.5+2.5 drop to $15 on various sales pretty frequently lately. I'd imagine they'll be cheaper when this drops.

Adding together the average from HowLongToBeat it would come out to about 150 Hours. That said, playing on easier difficulties and how fast you play in general would be a factor. While 9 titles can be intimidating. 1 of them is a 2 hour KH3 demo and 3 are movies with one of those movies being only an hour long.

This collection is the best for everyone that wants to be ready before KH3 comes out and doesn't preorder games digitally.
Because the digital All-in-one package contains the preorder of KH3 from the Playstation Store.

If you are buying Kingdom hearts 3, buy this. Kingdom hearts is for the fans of the series. You will have no clue what's going on if you just jump into KH3 blind.

I'm so getting this. I already have all the collections but I still have to get this. In fact I want to do a total playthrough before KH3 comes out. I dont know when to start. I want to finish KH2.8 just a day before KH3 comes out... How do i plan that

Feel free to swap 358/2 and KH2, while the former technically takes place before the latter, it answers a lot of questions that are kept vague through most of KH2 and it came out a few years later. I think they just bundled it in with KH1.5 for fans who just wanted to play things somewhat chronologically
