LOL, this is fucking incredible

Did you read the story? lol

"You have 15 minutes to retrieve the document, read it, and get to the chamber to cast your vote," said Durbin, who slowly became cognizant of the binder-shaped bulge pressing against the jagged stitches transecting his abdomen. "The vote is Saturday. If you ever want to know what's inside that report, cut it out now. There will be no further instructions." At press time, Durbin had gingerly drawn the rusty hacksaw provided by his captors across the first few inches of his distended gut before being interrupted by a groggy Senator Cory Booker emerging from a nearby bathtub.

Sorry to be such a Debbie Downer, but I'm wondering how many of them are saying they're uncertain to look better, and have actually decided to vote "yes". Swing voters will remember their "struggle" and die hard Republicans will remember the "yes" vote.

At this point the undecideds just sound to me like people trying to make it seem like they are going to vote yes and are thinking it over with all the drama around it but they absolutely will.

I'm not saying don't be hopeful but I'm just not going to hold my breath.

Are any of y"all worried about rep enthusiasm increasing if Kavanaugh doesnt get through?

Think about how the person who leaked the letter will feel if it turns out that:

1) They outed a sexual assault victim who wished to remain anonymous.
2) Kavanaugh was confirmed anyway to the detriment of multiple institutions in eyes of tens of millions
3) Motivated Republicans to vote and keep Congress.

It did give the MeToo movement another big push giving even more women the courage to talk about their own experiences. And hopefully makes young men see it as something that almost brought Kavanaugh down, not as something he ultimately got away with.

Man, the deliciousness it would be if Republicans are the ones to sink this nomination. Man oh man.

Great now we're soon going to have to deal with emboldened sexual predators on top of emboldened racists.

I just got into an argument with my father and oh boy I should have known not to open that can of worms. As soon as he saw the protesters on TV "Look at these fucking idiots who don't know anything" I couldn't keep my mouth shut after he said that. Hopefully he's still talking to me tomorrow.

So sources are saying there might be 2 maybe even 3 GOP no votes?

Could it be happening?

No absolutely not. We HAVE TO snap out of this completly stupid fucking mindset of worrying about what we do or don't do rallying their base.

I have no idea why this thinking/talking point started but it is rediculous. Democrats have to ONLY care about what they say or do when it comes to rallying OUR BASE. The constant hang wringing and half speak for the irrational fear of how pissed the republicunts will be is incredibly destructive to our base and our enthusiasm.

Instead how about we go full speed saying exactly what we want and whip our own base into a wild frenzy. News flash the GOP will find something, anything to latch onto so we just have to have a stronger more dedicated base and the only way that happens is to loudly and proudly represent them. We aren't doing a good job because of this stupid stupid fear.

Seriously quit it.

Precisely this. One thing is pretty clear. Republican voters are reliable. Pretty much their entire base will vote.

The only thing liberals need to do is the fucking same thing. In every election. Big or small. Go to the voting booth and put an x next to the democratic candidate. There is no hope in convincing these brainwashed motherfucker to not vote or vote dem.

Just. Vote. Please.

Is it irrational? It sure wasnt irrational in 2010, when the red wave took away all of the gains dems had made in the house. I asked (asked) my question because I have seen the poll numbers for the republicans increase these last few days, in a way that I dont think Ive seen during the entire year. I think that its a valuable discussion because if rep numbers are already going up because of "how disastrous the confirmation process" has been, how much would they rise if Kavanaugh didnt get the confirmation?

It would be helpful if you could provide something concrete to analyze when you say these things. What numbers are up? Where? Relative to when?

If the comparisons are to numbers from September, those numbers were clearly a fluke and some kind of unexplaiend short term boost for Democrats that didn't match the previous months numbers like the current data does.
