Is there a photo of the photo?
he sent it by PM at the time afraid he would be banned if he shared in the thread. I still have it in my PMs on gaf, but also will not share in the thread here for same reasons.

EDIT: you can find a link on page 11 of the old thread.

Ok, since creature stories are allowed, here's mine.

It was my senior year of high school and my parents were out of town, so like any responsible left-alone high school kid, I threw a party in their absence. I grew up in a very rural area and my house sat on the edge of a 13 acre property. The party centered around the back deck of the house overlooking a large field. It was great because it gave my friends an easy place to park or put up a tent and crash if they needed to for the night. Between the field and the deck was a storage building with a motion light. This was also great because at night it would light the way for anyone going back and forth between their cars or signal the arrival of another friend. It was around 10pm that night and friends were slowly showing up, setting off the motion light one by one as they walked towards the deck. Around this time it was just a small group of us, no more than 10 or so. I look out into the field and see another set of brake lights. The car parks, and I see two figures moving towards the porch. One figure is walking a few meters in front of the other. The first figure passes under the motion light and sets it off while the second figure darts off behind a row of bushes across from the storage building. The first figure was my friend James. He would bring his younger brother with him everywhere, so we all naturally assumed figure behind him was his brother trying to play a trick on us or jump out and scare the next person. A bunch of my other friends start yelling at him that we can see him and to come on. James walks up onto the porch and I say "tell your brother we can see him, he's not fooling anybody". The next few minutes after this are the moments seared into my memory. James looks back at me and replies "What are you talking about, he's not with me?". At that very moment the motion light turns off and me and everyone else on the porch starts freaking out. At the moment we are thinking there is strange person or someone else from school trying to fuck with us. We all start screaming at the figure to get out of here or to come out. We can still see it's faint shadow bobbing back and forth behind the bushes. I walk off the deck and head towards the shed. I'm one foot into the yard when I see it. The figure darts from behind the bush, passing through the motion light moving across the yard between the building and the deck. It was a tall, naked creature probably between 7 and 8 feet tall with incredibly long legs. It's skin was leathery and olive colored. It was bald with squinty eyes and no identifiable mouth or nose. And it moved fast, covering a span of 30 or so yards in only a few steps before disappearing into the woods. I froze in the yard. My friends behind me that saw it screamed. One of my friends started crying. "What the fuck was that!" I yelled. For the next hour we were damn near inconsolable. Those of us who saw it still swear to this day that what we saw was not of this earth and I can't think about that moment without every hair on my body standing on end.

I don't rly believe in ghosts but like 4 years ago I moved into a building that had a rly high suicide rate and my normally quiet cat would stay up all night howling at the ceiling in this one specific spot in the hallway. I can only assume someone killed themselves there and the ghost was taunting my cat

Photo heavy post.

I didn't see anything, but a couple years ago I went with a couple friends on a midnight tour of Waverly Hills Sanitarium.

11904699_10155850208895417_8187228927638404462_n.jpg

Tour started with our group going down the "death chute," and lead us through the morgue and up the individual floors. On the third floor, we stopped and were asked to put away all electronics and anything with a light source. This hospital is located in the middle of a forresty area next to a golf course, in the middle of the city, it's pretty dark, but you can see city lights in the distance. There's power in the building, but only on the bottom floor. Once our eyes got used to the dark, the guide asked us for a volunteer to walk down the long hall by ourselves so the group could see the "shadow people" in comparison to our shadows.
I was the only person to volunteer, so I, a 6'4 football lineman, walked down the hallway alone. The further I got, the temperature dropped. It was a warm night, but I was freezing at the opposite end and there was no breeze. When I got far enough, the guide asked me to stand T-Posed. As I stood there, I started getting chills and the group at the other end, who I could barely see, started gasping. When I got back to the group, my friends told me that my shadow grew in size and started moving around as I stood still. Another person went down after I got back, but the group didn't see anything that time.
That was the only "experience" of the night, but the atmosphere was amazing and eerie. I guess the temperature drop could have just been me used to the group's body heat, but I was freezing down that hall and wouldn't think I would be that cold. The history of the place is what I loved the most, but also depressing, so many stories told on the tour.

Sorry for blurry photos, my camera wouldn't cooperate with the low light settings.

Here's mine, copied from a previous thread.

I was 17, and my aunt had asked me to stay at her house while she went on vacation. She had an old dog that really couldn't handle the kennel anymore (her hearing/vision were pretty much gone). She had talked about odd things occurring in the house (she had been living in it for a few months), but I didn't believe in anything paranormal, so that never even crossed my mind.

I drove over to her house, she let me know the usual things people do when you're staying at their house, and left for the airport. I got settled in, hooked my PS1 up to the TV and had planned on a week of gaming and writing a little in my journal. I ended up writing down all of my experiences.

The first day and a half were fine. Nothing odd, the first night I played some PS1 watched the Mets/Cardinals game on the TV, after that Little Shop of Horrors was on TNT, and fell asleep on the couch. Woke up the next morning, let the dog out, got ready for work and left. I got home around 5:30 that evening, and the dog, being old, left a few messes on the kitchen floor. I cleaned that up, turned the stove on to cook a pizza, and went back to the couch in the living room. I went to reach for the remote, and heard what sounded like footsteps in the bedroom. I thought at first her dog got confused (she told me that could happen), but when I went to get up, it hit me the dog was laying right by my feet. The footsteps lasted long enough that I was able to make out the sounds of how heavy they were. I got up, walked to the bedroom, and it was empty. The timer went off for the pizza to be put in, I cooked the pizza, and the next few hours were uneventful. That night I had planned on watching the Mets/Cards game 2, followed by the Three Stooges marathon that ran on KPLR 11 in St. Louis for years every Saturday night. At around 10:30, I started hearing the footsteps again, this time followed by something falling. I shot up as fast as I could and ran to the bedroom. I ended up finding the TV remote for the bedroom laying on the hardwood floor. I said out loud "I'm not here to hurt you, don't hurt me, and we'll be fine." I honestly don't know why I said that, it just felt right at the time. Once I sat back down, for those of us who have experienced this kind of stuff, you just constantly go through your head of plausible explanations. At this point I'm not even really paying attention to the game (it was tied going into the 10th inning), I'm more just running through my head what could cause the remote to fall. She had a small basement, only about a quarter of it was concrete floor, the rest was dirt piled high with a wall on the other side. I went down to the basement to try and figure out anything that could explain what happened. The area where her bedroom is, was inaccessible because of the dirt behind the wall. I could see back in there, but couldn't access it. As I turn to start heading back upstairs, I now hear footsteps in the kitchen, right were the steps are for the basement. It sounds like someone is walking towards the basement steps. I quickly head to the basement steps and look up. I sat there for a good 3 minutes or so just waiting, but nothing ever appeared. I went back upstairs, went back to the couch, and didn't hear anything else that night.

The next day I had planned on doing some laundry. I had my other bag of clothes, grabbed those and headed down the steps. I got to the washer, was putting my clothes in, and out of the corner of my eye I saw only what I could describe as a shadow heading up the stairs to the kitchen. I leave my clothes where they are, and quickly go to the basement steps. Nothing there. I sat for a good while, but nothing. I finish loading my clothes, head back up. The rest of the day was silent, no activity at all. By now you're almost waiting for it, expecting it, but nothing happened. I even had a buddy come hang out that night for the Sunday night baseball game, thinking "he's going to get freaked out!" but nothing happened. He even hung out pretty late, left about 2 am. After not sleeping well the night before, I crashed hard on the couch.

I got up Monday morning around 9, made breakfast, ate, showered, etc. No activity at all. I got called into work, and ended up working until 8 Monday evening. I rushed back to the house to catch the rest of Monday Night Raw and Nitro (hey, its '97, it was red hot back then!), and again, nothing at all. By now I'm kind of just laughing to myself that everything I experienced was something else, and nothing paranormal. Went to bed around midnight after the replay of Nitro.

Tuesday I got up, did my normal routine, went out for a jog, got back and figured I'd mow the lawn for her since it needed it. I put my headphones on, and started mowing. I went down one way, facing away from the house, and when I turned back to face the house, I saw something that I still cannot believe, though I can picture her plain as day if I close my eyes. In the kitchen, staring straight out (but not at me, staring at something behind me) was an old woman. She had grey hair, and a sundress that was peach colored. She had the glasses you would think someone from the 50's would have, horn rimmed, with a chain behind. The glasses were down somewhat on her nose. I sat there, mower running, and could not move. It felt like I was staring at her for hours, but really, it was only maybe 20-30 seconds as after I snapped out of my haze, the song I was listening to "Enter Sandman" was still playing in my ears. She turns around, I bolt for the door, she disappears behind the small wall w/ the steps that go to the basement. I run down the stairs, and nothing. She's gone. At this point I am completely in a shock, or so it feels. I immediately write down everything I could about her. I end up calling my buddy who was over a few nights before, and tell him everything that I was experiencing. He laughs it off, and calms me back down. He had a few days off work, so he offers to come stay a few days until my aunt comes back, which was scheduled to be on that Friday. He comes over that night after work, and everything after seeing her was quiet again.

Nothing happened that night, I get up the next day to head into work, and he stays at the house. I get back to the house after work, and he tells me that while he was going to the bathroom, he hears a chair in the kitchen move, and also hears a door slam. He said he came out thinking I was back, but I'm not there. He does the exact same things I do, he walks around the house, checking everything, trying to think of an explanation. I tell him that's exactly what I would do, he just kind of laughs it off, but I could tell he was a little freaked out. A few hours later we were vegging out on the couch playing PS1, and we hear the footsteps in the bedroom again. We both sit and just stare at each other while someone is clearly walking around the bedroom, and he finally shoots up, and takes off to the bedroom, and of course, nothing is there.

From then on, everything was quiet. My aunt arrived back, and I decided not to tell her about seeing the old woman, but told her about everything else. She said that is the exact experiences she's had, as well as seeing a shadow person in the hallway to the bedrooms.

Sure enough, a few months after I am in shock, as my aunt calls me to tell me she saw an old woman standing in the kitchen. I take my journal to her with everything I wrote down about her, and my aunts jaw just drops as she says that's exactly what she'd seen.

From then on, I've been a firm believer. I've never experienced anything else after this, my aunt was only in the house a few months longer as the owner of the home ended up letting a family member stay in the house. I never heard if anyone else had anything odd happen while they were there.

Did you notice in the first place or in retrospect that the figure behind your friend was so tall? 7-8 feet tall with long legs surely meant it was towering over him.

The figure was crouching moving through the field, almost like it was creeping behind my friend. It's another big reason why we just thought it was his brother behind him. We thought he was trying to be sneaky and scare someone, which is why when it dipped behind the bushes we still thought it was a person. It didn't reveal its height until it stepped in the light and straightened its back out. If it hadn't of been so strikingly tall I would have convinced myself it was a deer or something else years ago and that my eyes were playing tricks on me. But this thing was TALL and slender and moved in larger strides upright on two legs. It was fucking terrifying.

When I was in high school(over 20 years ago now, ouch), I worked second shift for a local distribution company. The business had several offsite storage locations at a closed Air Force Base in the same town. These locations were specifically old hangars, in somewhat bad repair but usable for our needs. It was decided for our small group(4 high school aged kids and an adult supervisor) to go over to one of the hangars to do some inventory. Earlier that day, it began snowing, and I recall pulling up on the building in awe of how dark and quiet it was....the former base did not have much traffic or light for that matter...the snow compounded the silence. Regardless, we made our way into the hangar, named Jackson Hall. This particular facility was about 45-50 ft tall, had one big open space and 2 floors of offices against the edge of one wall. I remember walking in, turning on a few lights so we could make our way around, then made our way out to the floor to start counting. At around 7 PM, we heard an extremely loud noise coming from the office area. We all looked up, looking for each others reaction while also taking a mental headcount(everyone was there). After a moment of discussion and trying to work up the courage, we decided to investigate. Running into the office hall(we were high schoolers, lol), we noticed about 10 Rubbermaid garbage cans on the ground at the end of one hallway, slightly in motion as if they had just been thrown down the hall in one motion. We looked into every office, flipping on the room light of each, to make sure someone wasn't inside trying to hide from us. After the first floor was clear, we ran up to the second floor to do the same. Once up on the second floor, we noticed that there were more garbage cans, sitting outside the door of each office. After clearing the second floor, we decided to make our way back down to the warehouse area and continue working. Approx. 2 hours later, we heard a very similar commotion . Instead of waiting a moment before checking things out, we hauled ass back to the hallway, ran up the stairs and saw all of the garbage cans at the end of the hallway, again slightly in motion to infer that they were swept into motion in one fell swoop. Needless to say, we got the F out of there. Days later, I was visiting my best friend who's dad was a retired AF MSgt. I told him about the experience, and if he knew if Jackson Hall was haunted. He said that he had never heard of anything, but that there was an airman that committed suicide in that building in the mid 80's. He said the staff had left the building, and when they arrived again in the morning, they found him hanging from the rafters. No one could ever figure out how he had made it up there, let alone setup the rope and commit the act. The next thing stood with me though....apparently this happened at night in the winter after a snow storm.

That's a good one. I used to work in an old hangar when I was in the AF and had a similar experience, but it turned out to be a bobcat that had taken residence in the abandoned office portion of the hangar. I would've preferred to be face-to-face with a specter than a wild bobcat.

I don't really believe in ghosts or the supernatural, but I've had several preternatural experiences, which just means stuff out of my ordinary experience that I can't explain.

  • My room in a house we moved into when I was teenager always gave me the creeps. It always felt like there was some kind of presence in a corner, looking at me. It was nothing more than a feeling -- never saw anything unusual, but my cat would refuse to come into the room. I remember carrying her in a few times, and each time, she would hiss and shoot out like her tail was on fire. I never told anyone in my family about the creep factor in my room, and after I moved out, my sister took the room. When I visited about a year later, she asked me if I ever thought there was anything off about it and I shook my head. She said that it felt like there was some dude in the corner who was looking at her and it creeped her out. Also, she said that when my cat died, the last thing she did was finally come into the room, meowed at her, then laid down and passed away.
  • When I was in the Air Force, we had just finished a post-flight inspection on a plane and as we were riding off in the expediter truck, one of the guys looked back and yelled, "Hold up, we forgot someone." We turned and looked at the plane, and there was what appeared to be a silvery figure with half their body looking out from the #1 Hatch, which was up near the flight deck (this was a C-5, so we're talking about 60 feet or so up from the ground). I swear to god, it looked like the Silver Surfer. We didn't know who it was since we thought we were the only ones on the plane, but the truck turned around and once we started driving back, the figure ducked down from the hatch. We get to the plane, climbed up the crew entry door ladder and yelled up for whoever to come on down and no one answered. We went up to the flight deck and no one was there. We went around the rest of the plane yelling (the C-5 is fairly large internally, with a lot of different compartments and areas), but didn't find anyone else on the plane. So we left, and just because we thought someone was fucking with us, we closed the crew entry door to fuck them right back. We left and we were all looking at the plane and same son of a bitch poked up out of the #1 hatch again. The driver said, "Whoever it is can stay the fuck out there and walk the fuck back." We never figured out who it was or what that was all about.
  • A townhouse I lived in in Maryland had strange stuff going on. I would relax in the afternoons before going into work and would always hear kids yelling and stomping up and down the stairs next door. But it turned out there were no kids that lived next door, not even visiting grandchildren or anything. When we left on vacation, I had a friend housesit for us and he said he kept seeing shadows change shape and move all around the ceiling and walls, and he decided not to spend any nights there after that.
  • When I lived in a tower condo in Vegas, I was repeatedly awakened from sleep by someone jabbing me in the back with a finger, but no one was there. After the fifth or sixth time, I finally said out loud, "Listen, there are a lot of hot people living in this building. Why don't you go and bother them instead?" and it never happened again.

Something very similar to this happened to me once

It was like 3 am in the mornign, I went to the bathroom and on the way I saw multiple shadowy silhouettes on the living room, It was so weird, they were just walking really slow so I just ran back to my room, closed the door, turned on all the lights and went under the sheets and pretended that nothing happened.

I was like 7 or 8 so maybe was my imagination.

Amazing stuff guys. Thanks for sharing. I gotta admit, this one is freaking me out the most so far.

I had quite a few things happen. I remember one time at my aunts house going to use the bathroom and the bathroom was in a dark hallway, as I leave the bathroom I noticed what looked like a gray shadow by me, it kind of had a human like shape lol it creeped me out and I ran back to the kitchen.

Now at my house when I used to live downstairs on the first floor there was a time the living room tv started to flip channels and I went to make sure I wasn't leaning on the remote, I wasn't, the remote was on the table next to me, I turned off the tv and ran upstairs so fast, it creeped me pretty bad. I also had the same thing happen to my bedroom tv on multiple occasions and my remote was on my nightstand. My cousin who had that same bedroom before me told similar things happened when he was living in there. Another time in that same bedroom I was l was in bed laying on my side trying to sleep and I felt something grab my wrist really tight for about a second or two and just let go.. it creeped me out so bad lol I went from sleepy to wide awake real quick.

Now upstairs in my computer room one day after I got home from high school the door was wide open and no windows or anything like that were open at least from what I remember and the door just randomly slammed shut.. I was pretty freaked out since the only other person at the time that was home was my grandmother and she was downstairs. I also had some more minor things happen up there like random pictures falling over in the middle of the night or I'd hear random noises. A few times I could have sworn that I heard someone crying in my house in the middle of the night while everyone was sleeping, I thought it was my sister, so I went to make sure she was alright, but she was sound asleep.

(Not a ghost story) I've had more than a handful of dreams come true. First one I remember is having a nightmare one Saturday night that my step dad was going to die, parents reassured me everything was gravy and that Tuesday morning he died in a work accident. Mom started taking me to seances and tried to teach me how to read tarot cards. Jesus candles everywhere.

The least mundane dream I have had come true was dreaming Kevin Jonas of the Jonas Brothers would meet his soulmate on a cruise ship, which he did.

I am personally not superstitious but I had a dream my boyfriend would die in a car accident driving a black sedan so no black sedans for us!

A couple things happened at the house I used to live in.

The first one was when I was alone and about to go up to the bathroom I heard this kinda static like singing coming from upstairs, a kind of 1940's slow singing type thing. No radios plugged in, nobody else on the house and it was definitely coming from upstairs. It freaked me out so much as I had to wait for someone else to get home before I could actually go to the bathroom.

Second one went on for pretty much the entire time I was there, each night while I was in bed I could hear this kind of moaning or groaning that sounded like it was coming from the upstairs landing just outside my room. At the time I assumed it was either my brother or my mother but when we moved house the noises completely stopped. Not neighbors either as I could hear them cough from time to time and it very distinctly came from a different direction. I should looked into it more but like I said at the time I just assumed it was either my mother or brother.

Now I would never go on record to say that house was haunted but if someone came up to me and said that one of the houses that I had lived in throughout my life had been haunted I would immediately know he was talking about that one.

If you guys ever need to rent a car, just make sure all they have left isn't black sedans.

Don't believe in ghosts but I love ghost stories.

The "closest" thing to a ghost story I have is when I stayed over at a friend's apartment that he claims was haunted. He had a few people over and everyone was asleep but me and another friend. We were bullshitting because we couldn't sleep. Now my friend's roommate had his gf over and they were in a separate room. Me and my friend are talking when we hearing a door open and bare footsteps down the hall. We figure it's the roomate's gf and call to her to say goodnight. No response. I shrug but my friend looks a bit freaked out due to all the ghost stories. I get up, as white people in horror movies tend to do, and go into the living room to talk to her. I don't see anything in the dark and I turn on the light and there isn't anyone there. We didn't hear the front door open. No one in the restroom either. The next morning, we find out that she was still in the apartment. My friend, the one who rented the apartment, then tells us that he sees a little girl at night sometimes walking in the hallway. I'm pretty sure he was trying to scare us but I just shrugged.

My dad swears up and down that back in the 70's when he was working at a hotel he had a guest ask him to drive her to an abandoned house out on the fringe edge of Houston; when he got out to help her with her bags she just fucking vanished into thin air and so did her luggage in the trunk.

My dad is a notorious bullshitter, but he's told me this story about a hundred times over the last 20 years and unlike most of his tall tales it's always the same down to every single detail. He's still kinda spooked by the whole thing even 40 years later.

he sent it by PM at the time afraid he would be banned if he shared in the thread. I still have it in my PMs on gaf, but also will not share in the thread here for same reasons.

EDIT: you can find a link on page 11 of the old thread.

The link didn't work for me on the phone and now I don't know if I want to try again. This story and the reddit one are the worst. I usually don't like demon stuff but I can handle ghost stuff, but when it involves crime it gets 100% worse.

You have some massive balls man. After making visual contact with the old woman I would have grabbed the dog and noped the hell out of there.

Below you will find a list of events that happened to me in a flat that I shared with a friend in S.E London for two years from 2005 – 2007.

This a true story whether you believe it not is upto you…

In 2005, I was 29 and had just split up with my gf. One of my friends had a two bedroom ground floor flat in S.E.London where he needed someone to share with to help out with the cost. Being in the process of splitting up, it helped all parties involved if I moved in with him. It was pretty cool, we both had not serious relationships, smoked tons of weed and played lots of xbox with our friends on-line when we weren't out and about.

A little bit of background on the area and the flat. It was a 60s style block that was just a ground floor/first floor with a flat on each floor, that was stuck at the end of a Victorian terrace. About a mile or less in a straight line south from the thames. When I drove around the area going to the shops or stuff, here and there, it was the same story, 60s style flats or a few recent houses surrounded by Victorian terraces. Why, because they were all built after the original houses had been bombed to rubble in air raids during WW2. Infact, before writing this, I did quick google search and found bombsight.org. A quick look on the map inside confirmed that my old flat had been built on the site of an old destroyed house. Plus, another site confirmed that on the 28/01/1941, 5 people had been killed in the road where I lived during an air raid. It doesn't confirm that whoever was haunting that flat was killed that night, they may have died afterwards. I am just informing you all of what I know.

Anyway, when you enetered the flat, you went straight into a corridor which had a living room on the left so at the from, with a bedroom (my friends on right) which occupied the front of the flat. The corridor finished in an open bit with my bedroom on the back left, kitchen on the right and the bathroom toilet sandwiched in between. My bedroom was where most of the activity took place apart from a couple of things..

At first, I started putting down the feeling of being watched whenever I was in bed or the changes in atmosphere in that room down to being paranoid because of what I had been smoking all night. There was also the noises of the laminated flooring cracking every now and then that I brushed off until I put my foot one day on the exact same spot that needed to be depressed in order to get that cracking sound. A rational explanation was easy to find… The sudden wafting localized drafts when I was in bed and all the windows were shut were not easy to dismiss though.

After a while, things started getting a bit weirder. The feelings of being watched and the feelings of having someone's face just next to mine whilst in bed intensified and became more and more frequent. We started hearing noises in the kitchen and hallway, and a few times whilst alone I saw from the corner of my eye someone walk by the living room door which had opaque glass panels.

A couple of times, just as I was drifting off, I heard my name whispered very softly. Again I tried to brush it off as me talking in sleep. Often the atmosphere would change in the room, and the feelings of having someone standing over me became more and more frequent. The final part and I mean final because I never noticed or had anything happen afterwards. One night I was asleep, on my left side and my head was thrust with force into the pillow. The force was strong enough for me to still feel where I had been touched for a good 30. I slept with the light on afterwards.

Like I said, I moved out not two months later, but that was the last episode in this bizarre chapter.

Another great story in the original thread from Eteric Rice:

And with that, I guess I should tell my dad's story. It's been a while since he told me about it so I can't remember the details or order ofthe story. All I know is this.

Their friend owned a camp and let my dad, my uncle, and a friend of theirs stay on the land for some reason. I think they were fishing oysters and the guy just let them stay there for a while.

Anyway, my dad starts digging in the dirt (I forget why) and finds some teeth and finger bones. It was then that my dad realized they were on top of an indian burial ground. From what he told me it wasn't always there, but when the camp was being built the builders dug up some dirt and put it there (I guess to get the camp higher in the air in case of hurricanes). They accidentally dug up an indian burial ground and moved it.

So anyway, that night they get drunk, and my dad told them about the teeth that he found. They, being drunk as hell, start dancing and singing around the fire like indians. That night, my dad's friend wakes him up, and it went something like this.

"Denny, wake up."

"What..."

"Come here, listen"

My dad gets up and goes by the window where his friend is. He listens, and doesn't really hear anything. His friend tells him to put his ear closer to the window. My dad does, and he hears the sound of drums playing. They stayed up and listened for a while before going back to bed.

The next day they decide they aren't going to do that shit anymore just in case. But, alas, that night they got drunk again, and got brave. They started singing and dancing around the fire again.

Later that night, they're sleeping. My dad and his friend are on the top bunk, and my uncle is on the lower bunk. Suddenly they wake up to the sound of the camp's screen doors opening. You know those old aluminum screen doors that make that "errrrr" noise when they open? Yeah, it was those.

The first door opens, and then SLAMS shut.

The second door opens, and then SLAMS shut.

They're listening to this, when all of a sudden my uncle starts screaming. They look down and see him half way out of the bed, holding on to the bed. My dad and his friend grab my uncle by the arms and hold on, something was pulling my uncle out of the bed. After a few moments whatever it was lets go. My uncle feels his legs, and they're ice cold.

Anyway, the next night they're drinking, but I don't think they were dancing or anything. But all of a sudden, everything gets quiet. No crickets, no animals, nothing. They're bewildered, trying to understand whats going on. All of a sudden a huge gust of wind comes through. They run inside for shelter. They figured that they got caught in a storm or something.

They decide to go to bed and wait the storm out. Well, there were these pieces of bamboo cane outside all stacked up. I forget what they were for, but that night during the storm they hear...

BAM
BAM
BAM
BAM
BAM
BAM
BAM

They were to scared to get out of bed, so they waited it out until morning. When they got up and went to the hallway part of the camp, the bamboo was sticking through the walls from outside. It was like someone took them and threw them at the camp like spears.

Well, after everything they went through they were freaked out. They thought it might have just been a tornado passing through that threw the bamboo, but when they went back to their boat, they found the tarpoleon that they had covered their oysters with, completely and perfectly folded. My dad described it like when solders fold the flag at another soldier's funeral. It was absolutely perfect.

So that's when they decide to get the fuck out of there. A few months later the guy that owned the place burned it down because of similar shit that happened.

I might be wrong on some of the more minor details of the occurence (it's been a while since he told me about it), but the main parts are right. I brought it up to my uncle and he told me the same story.

How about some chinese ghost stories? this one by the user 'hteng':
this is a good time for ghost stories. In chinese culture, there's the ghost season/festival/month which happens on the 15th day of the 7th Lunar Month (15 July) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_festival During this time, the gates of hell are open wide and ghosts/spirits are free to wander the human realm. It is during this time ghost citings are most common in chinese communities, and chinese people don't go out late during this period of time.

I have not experience any but a couple of my friends (mainly females) had several encounters. The reason why females are more sensitive to these kind of stuff is because their affinity to Yin (darkness, cold..etc) whereas males are represented by Yang (light, hot..etc).

So a couple of my friends went to watch a late night movie, one of the ladies felt that she need to take leak, she went into the bathroom; no one know what exactly happened but some said she was infront of a mirror doing her make up and suddenly she let out a shrieking scream, as if she was possessed, she collapsed and later woke up a different person. She would stare blankly into space and murmur stuff you couldn't possibly understand and was very aggressive to people around her (she actually slashed at one of the guys that tried to restrain her). It was clear that she was possessed, the next day she was taken to a taoist temple and went through a cleansing ritual; it was explained by the taoist master that she was possessed by a girl who commited suicide around the area some 5-6 years ago, she was caught by the spirit when she looked into the mirror for too long.

There are also sayings that during this period of time, the cinemas will have empty seats specially reserved for the spirits, especially midnight showings, so the next time you notice something unusual about the empty seat next to you, you are probably right.

Next, two friends (ladies) just came out of a party, partially drunk, late at night, have no idea where they are driving, they took a wrong turn and end up at a highway with no roadside lamps. It was very dark, the only light source was the car meters, one of the ladies had prior experience to this kinda stuff, incidently she was the driver, she had this sudden chill and notice something at her reflection mirror, yea you guessed right, at a far off distance, someone was standing there, it was covered in white and had long black hair. The driver thought she was hallucinating since she's kinda drunk, note that the car was still moving but the distance between them were still the same, i think it lasted for just a few seconds, she notice it was unusual and quickly slammed on the gas and hightail into the main road.

there's a saying that if you encounter a ghost, especially a female ghost with long black hair. DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THEM, do not pay any interest whatsoever, if they notice you they will follow you and that is not a good sign, she's most likely a ghost who had not die peacefully.

also, if you are in the woods, or in a remote alley, dark places, if you want to take a piss at a corner, ALWAYS do a few prayers before you go, ask politely before you take your piss because the last thing you want is an angry ghost following you because you had pissed on the dude.

Ok.

When I was a kid I was on vacation with my parents in Hampton, VA. We were in our hotel and in the middle of the night of fell off the bed and saw what I assumed to be a ghost at the foot of my bed walk from the window towards the room door which led to the hallway of the hotel. I believe this to now be just waking abruptly and still being in a sleep state.

With this next story let me start off by saying I've never been a sleep walker. I had come back from a night out and remember being so tired I said screw showering and just passed out on top of my bed. I wake up maybe a few minutes later in the middle of a shower, it scared the hell out of me. Because to do all of that would've taken so much effort, I'd have to undress, walk to the bathroom, put the water on, and on top of that the water was at a perfect temp. That's too much finesse to do while sleep walking.

The first one, Virginia is supposed to be pretty haunted what with the Civil War and all. The second? Most likely you were to tired to remember. Thanks for sharing either way.

I had to put my beloved dog Ghost down a few months ago. On the way home I texted my sister and told her what happened. A few minutes later, I got a text. My phone was connected to my husbands car. It read out "Message from Dave xxx: I love you sweetie, I believe in you, you got this"

Dave, my mentor, has been dead for almost ten years now, and I don't even have his old number in my phone. I looked at phone in horror and it was my sisters message.

What was this again ?

I live in a residential area right behind a large Mormon church. Nothing too spooky about the church - in fact it's a fairly new building - but when I drive past it at night, usually coming back from work, I sometimes see "shadow people." I usually spot them in my rearview or side mirrors as I drive past and every time I look back they're gone. I've even gotten out of the car and looked around the area after dark with no luck. Weird me out every time but I have to pass the church to get home every night.

I was taking a train down to Scotland and on the last train taking me to the far end of scotland I fell asleep , I woke up and all the people were wearing old style cloths and smoking, it was like I was transported back in time. I woke up and on the seat next to me was the hankerchief a woman in my dream was using to wipe make up off her cheek.

My dad died very recently and as I was driving up to see him before they switched the machines off that had been keeping him alive , I smelt the smell of tea in my car, the kinda smell you get when you have tea in a flask or it stews a bit. My dad was a big tea drinker.

There was no explanation for the smell, other than perhaps my own imagination. However, i do like to think his sprit was there visiting me as he was floating between life and death and the tea smell was part of that.

Not a ghost story as such I know, but it's only one of two wierd events that has happened to me that I would consider to be paranormal.

Already got some shivers thanks to this thread, love reading stories like this, thanks everyone. I remember the photo story from the old place and the Holes story is an oldie, too, but still creeps me out.

No real ghost stories from me, though. Belgium's just a bit too mundane for that, it seems. :lol

I told this story back on the old place so I'll share it here too.

Now let me just say that I believe in ghosts. Always did and will continue to.

Back when I was in Middle School (2004-05), wristbands were popular at my school. The thick kind that covered part of your wrist with logos or whatever. Seeing my closest friends getting them and wanting to be part of the cool crowd, I bought some too. I know this sounds like a silly start but stay with me. I had a routine every night that I would get everything I'd need for school set up and ready to go so it would save time in the morning. My backpack would be set against an end table with my wristbands on top of said table next to anything else I'd need that couldn't fit in my backpack. I did this every night for two years.

During this time, my dad had started working as a TSA Agent and he worked all sorts of shifts. Ever since I can remember, he loved scaring me and my brother. We shared a room for a long time so it was easy for him to get both of us. He'd throw things in our room, come in real slow in the dark, etc. Sometimes it was fun and sometimes it was annoying. When he started working, he didn't do it nearly as much as more often than not, he came home really late. He was soon put on night shifts so he'd leave in the afternoon and come home around 3-4 A.M. On his off days, he'd go to my grandmother's for the night. One of my uncles moved in with her to help take care of her so my dad would go and hang out there a lot. He'd usually come home around the same time.

Okay, now on to what happened. One night, while I was sleeping, I felt something smack me in the face. It was hard enough to wake me up. I got up looked right at my brother who was sound asleep. My eyes were still adjusting to the dark but he was close enough that I could tell it wasn't him. I looked down to see what hit me and I saw my wristband on the floor. That should be on the table. I then looked toward the hallway and saw the silhouette of a figure standing there. My first thought was that it was my dad. I didn't think this was funny because it was a school night. I called out to him saying things like "Haha, very funny" and "Really, now?" No response came. The figure didn't even move. At this point I was getting uncomfortable because I could clearly see someone there but all it was doing was standing there perfectly still. I called out to it again and still got nothing. Tried once more while reaching for my wristband and all of a sudden, it just darted toward my room and at me, like a full on sprint.

I freaked the fuck out and shouted, waking both my brother and my mom. My parents' room was right across from ours and the light switch for the hallway was right in between the rooms. She swung the door open, turned on the light and the figure was gone instantly. I'm pretty sure I didn't blink or speak for minutes until I finally realized what just happened. I explained to them both and my mom suggested I call my dad. He answered and said he was still at my grandma's house. He even put her and my uncle on the phone to prove it. We went into the living room to look around and I notice my backpack was knocked over and moved away from the table and my wristbands were all moved and I was holding the one that hit me in the face. I was freaked out. I don't know what happened or why it happened. Never experienced something like that before or since. I stopped wearing the wristbands soon after that, partially due to me realizing how stupid it was, but also because of that night.

Not the freakiest story in this thread but I swear this happened. Believe me or don't but this night had me on edge for weeks. As I said in the beginning, I believe in ghosts and things like this solidify my stance.

I suffer from constant sleep paralysis and night terrors but my worst one lately that legitimately had me shook happened when I was sleeping over my girlfriend's house last summer...

So i'm sleeping on the outside of the bed with my girlfriend on the inside near the wall, all of the sudden I hear a what sounds like my girlfriend whimpering in pain, I open my eyes and i'm staring at my girlfriend crying and shaking with someone's hand over her. The hand was black with unnaturally long fingers and it appeared to be sucking the life from my girlfriend. At this point I am panicking, telling the thing to stop, stop, stop, desperately trying to get up and stop this thing from hurting my girlfriend. After what seemed like forever, I was finally able to roll over and saw the figure, which appeared to be a woman, dark and decrepit but not of this world. I am fighting to get up and slowly raise my head and me and this thing make eye contact and it was like I was staring at the Devil itself, my whole body went cold. After making eye contact this thing began to reach down and grab me when I finally woke up and lunged at this creature but it was gone.

My girlfriend, having felt me get up, said I had been mumbling "stop, stop, leave her alone" and she was freaked out because she didn't know what the hell was going on. I told her what I saw and we were both freaked out. About 10 mins later she went to sleep but I laid there for about 30 mins unable to go back to sleep. Eventually I began to drift back off to sleep and immediately saw the same figure right in front of me, I yelled both in my sleep and in real life "I told you to leave!" which woke up my gf and she woke me up thankfully and stopped it for happening all over again.

After that I didn't sleep for the rest of the night and have been spooked to sleep in her room ever since.
Recently she's told me about having a dream with the same similar looking figure so we're both becoming convinced that her room is haunted.
Just Saturday I had a dream with the same figure but in my house and the figure stopped me from moving in my dream and placed a black cross on my forehead, which I quickly licked and wiped away in my dream.
Shits been reoccuring and really freaking me out.

My post from a similar thread.
Hasn't happened in a while but then again I haven't slept over my girlfriend's house much since.
