It's going to get buried by the WC reactions and Rivalry Renewed news cycle, but Pedro saying on air that Severino copped to him that he was hurt in the second half and that he was still pitching because reasons seems like a big fucking deal. WTF is wrong with the Yankees medical staff? This isn't the first high profile fuckup they've had this year. It isn't even the second.

I mean, "Heyward might opt out!" is the second goofiest take in this thread. I'm sure you can guess what the goofiest take is...

TOTALLY! I mean, I definitely got over enthusiastic an used and exclamation point for the idea that he might opt out. But hey, I'm sure you know the difference between the words "might" and "will."...................................

And for "goofiest take" what defensive stat would you like to compare Heyward to Judge for? You can skew it anyway you want. Don't forget that Heyward also played 25ish games in CF

Let's do DRS for starters. Also feel free to compare Jason Heyward to Markus Lynn (aka "Mookie" (as in Blaylock)) Betts if you're feeling adventurous. Please post the results. Remember that higher numbers are better.

So once my poor cubbies were eliminated. I chose to cheer for the A's, braves, Rockies.

A's gone. I apologize to the braves and Rockies fans because I am cursed.

Harper might sign for 10/25, The Mets might trade Thor to the Yankees for PTBNL, Heyward might opt out and sign with the Steelers as their new RB.

These things might all happen.

Yanks would have taken the season series with Judge in the lineup. Just like they did against the Astros and Indians.

Trying to extrapolate from past games is already near useless in baseball, especially when you're talking about two teams of a similar talent level. Extrapolating from hypothetical matchups the Yankees would've won is a new degree of delusion.

I do it every year.

Yanks would have won 110 with Judge in the lineup. Great thing is I don't have to prove it.

Friend, you haven't met a cursed fan until you've met me

All of the teams I root for (dating back to the 90's) end up turning to shit

I'm a Braves/Eagles/Caps/Wizards fan. There was a stretch there when the Eagles went 4-12 after a 3-1 start, the Caps lost to an 8 seed in the first round and lost that Rangers series after being a minute away from advancing, Chip Kelly happened, the Braves got a lot of hype, every hyped player blew up and sucked, and then we went into rebuilding mode for years............... and I shouldn't need to elaborate on the Wizards.

And now look at me. I was in Philadelphia on the night of the Superbowl and partied all night. I live in DC and got to be in downtown to watch the game and go to the parade. The Braves are going to crush the Dodgers and go on to win the World Series.

EVEN THE WIZARDS are going to dramatically

get a 7 seed maybe?

Cubs won a world series 2 years ago and you're cursed again already. Ok then.
That's not what I said at all but ok.

I am saying everytime I pick a team to cheer for (not the Cubs) they lose pretty quick. Same thing happens in every sport.

Although last year I did want the Astros over the Dodgers
