Forza Horizon 4 PC Error 0xc0000005 preventing many users from starting the game

I had this issue when trying to preload the Ultimate edition last week. It would download fine on my work PC but not on my main home PC. I scoured the web for a solution and trying a few things I ended up getting it to start downloading by going into the Microsoft Store app settings in "Offline Permissions".

After toggling the setting above to "On" (and possibly rebooting, can't remember) my download started.

this says i've reached the limit of 3 changes in 365 days and i can try again next september :/

not sure how that could be the case since i've never seen this setting before! thanks though, i'll see if microsoft can do anything about it.

There are so many hidden settings in Windows 10. For people wondering about slow downloads from the store there is a setting deep in networking to turn off the throttling that is on by default and limits the speed.

In case people are trying to redownload the game.

Why would they have that on by default, can you show me where those settings are?

Advanced settings for Windows updates -> delivery optimization -> advanced

Put the top two toggles at 100%.

The reason this is enabled by default is because it'll throttle your whole connection if your connection is slower than the speed MS delivers files to you.

Mine said 45% for background, 90% for foreground in the download settings. 50% for upload and 500GB for monthly upload limits but all of these settings were unchecked. I changed them to all 100% and then left them unchecked again. Thanks for letting me know.

You have to have the options checked and at 100%

I faced a network issue yesterday. Basically I've never been able to connect to fh4 servers since the day I started playing. And after 2h of research I finally fixed it. So if anyone is getting Forza Horizon 4 servers are not available or something like that which prevents you from connecting to Horizon Life session or Auction House then do this.

Open Xbox app on your pc and click settings->network and test your connection.

If you get Teredo is unable to qualify then you need to try methods written here

And if you are like me for whom none of those worked then try this

This worked for me^
Any of the above should fix the problem.

It took me about an hour and 15 minutes to download 62GB for Forza Horizon 4 so that's not too bad and that was the default settings but thanks I will do that.

Windows update however was very slow.

I was getting instant crashes after attempting to start up the demo; was hoping they didn't persist in the full version. I'll hold off on buying until a fix is in place or there is a reliable way to ensure the crashes don't occur..
