Will DC Universe (and Netflix) release these shows weekly or whole season drops?

I used the free trial this weekend via a VPN.
Yeah, I could barely stream any of the videos unfortunately. Too bad, I wanted to rewatch the Legion cartoon. So it's nice that Netflix is gonna be picking up Titans. Hopefully that deal will extend to the future shows like Swamp Thing.
Comic selection is okay but the service is really bare-bones and it's kind of a struggle to navigate. Even with a good connection, I don't think I'd subscribe right now. Maybe in a year.

Signed up for the free trial last night. I am really only interested in comics, so don't think I'll become a paying subscriber. This selection is a fucking joke.

Much better trailer, but damn, it's so dark, like visually. Though, it does feel like Detroit, haha. Didn't realize they were taking it out of Gotham.

What's coming to DC Universe in October... er they are going to have to find a way to do this that doesn't make it seem like holding comics hostage

https://www.dcuniverse.com/news/whats-new-october-dc-universe/

Not only is writer Jeph Loeb and artist Tim Sale's 13-issue epic arguably the crowning achievement of this classic Batman creative team, but it's one of the key inspirations for director Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight. (which you can watch here). See for yourself when The Long Halloween arrives on DC Universe on October 23rd, just in time for Halloween!

Hey, speaking of inspirations... This month, we also have writer Marv Wolfman and penciler George Perez's The New Teen Titans -- the basis for our own original live-action Titans (arriving October 12th). You can read issues #1-12 here now. Then get set to read #13-20 tomorrow, October 2nd, #21-27 a week later, on October 9th, and #28 - #41 on October 16th.

If you're a movie fan, be sure to watch 1984's Supergirl when it flies onto DC Universe on October 5th. Starring Helen Slater in the title role, it's the Girl of Steel's live-action debut -- and the first feature film ever to star a DC heroine.

I've never read The Long Halloween so this is awesome!

I'm just confused as to what is leaving the service. There hasn't been clear communication on that front. I think all of the Batman live action movies except for Begins and TDK have been removed. And that's not even addressing the comic front.

...You've never read the greatest comic series of all-time?
Ok my personal favorite, but same difference!

That October update seems a bit small. They really do need these shows to start airing and having more talk around them. They also need to find a way to get the Arrowverse shows onto the service at some point even if they're sharing them with Netflix.

Well I assume the two big things for October is Titans premiere and ability to buy comics

But yeah not sure how this grows beyond die hard fans when can't get all their shows or movies or comics

Did they reveal how the comic buying is going to work? Is this separate from comixology purchases? Are they going to be full price? If both are true, who the heck would actually buy anything through them?

Im gonna go back to buying the cartoon episodes off Amazon.

+ They let you skip the intro.
+ They let you turn off captions (lol).
+ Connection is better. Half the time i watch an episode on DCU it looks vhs quality and buffers a lot.

Ps The Parasite episode of superman tas was good. Surprised they introduced such a powerful villain so early.

https://comicbook.com/dc/2018/10/03/doom-patrol-tv-series-dc-universe-cast-negative-man-matt-bomer/
It looks like DC Universe's Doom Patrol has just found its latest star.

The streaming service has announced that Matt Bomer has been cast as Larry Trainor/Negative man in Doom Patrol.

Bomer is best known for his roles on White Collar, American Horror Story, and Glee. The nerd world has been campaigning for Bomer to join a comic book role for quite some time, with his name recently being tossed around by fans for a potential replacement for Superman.

In the comics, Larry Trainor is a test pilot, who accidentally is fused with radioactive energy during an accident. This gives Larry the ability to release a "Negative Man" from his body, who has the ability to fly, phase through things, and explode. Larry and Negative Man have a unique relationship, with Larry in danger of dying if separated from the spirit for too long. Larry is also forced to keep an Invisible Man-esque appearance, wearing bandages wrapped around his face.

Dwain Murphy was already cast as Negative Man in the Doom Patrol's appearance on Titans, and appears to be reprising the role in early Doom Patrol set photos. This could indicate that Bomer's role will involve flashbacks and voiceover, similarly to Brendan Fraser's casting as Robotman, but fans will just have to wait and see to find out.

Doom Patrol will see Bomer's Negative Man joined by Elasti-Girl (April Bowlby) and Robotman (Jake Michaels), all of whom will be reprising their roles from a forthcoming appearance on Titans. The series will also include Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane, Jovian Wade as Cyborg, and Brendan Frasier as the voice of Robotman. Timothy Dalton was cast as the group's leader, The Chief, and the team will be going up against Alan Tudyk's Mr. Nobody.

Wasn't expecting that but okay. I'm down to see that.

I hope Titans turns out well. DC has pretty good on that front and even the shows I'm not crazy about have been entertaining to watch week to week. I mainly want this purchase I make to be worth it in the end and not me just paying to watch Young Justice.

Never go by when casting is announced. That likely made it seem like things hadn't started yet. A lot of these people were likely already filming before anything was ever said.

Going to be wild if the character people were trashing on ends up being the best. I feel like that happens a lot.

So it seems we're in the clear as far as Titans go. Not at all prefect and I didn't expect it to be. Liking what I'm reading impression wise an like the other shows room for improvement. Hitting it out of the part the way Black Lightning did was always going to be rare in the end but would have liked that but oh well.

Two parts

I imagine probably 26 episodes and split into 2- 13 episode chunks?
Makes sense business wise to keep people subscribed longer or to resubscribe if there is a break into between. Staggering the releases like this is good to keep the flow of content coming. This was CBS All Access problem originally when it came to original content. Thankfully they've been addressing that.
