WipEout Omega, Astro Bot, Firewall, Superhot VR, Rez and Resident Evil VII in VR are already enough reason OP.

Become one of us! Either that or wait for PS VR 2.0 which I hope is even lighter with bigger FOV.

Sony is committing to VR and there will be an inevitable next generation headset. So buy now if you can find a great deal this holiday or wait for the next headset.

I tried re7 on it. I know I would cet bored after a while of it. Then it is bulky and loaded with wire. This thing is already outdated.

Good point, but I don't have the budget to purchase a stellar setup on PC. My PC specs do not meet the requirement. Meanwhile, the Occulus Quest do not interest me all that much. Doesn't seem powerful enough for the long run. I gotta say, the Playstation eco-system has been my main environment when it comes to gaming for a long time now. Whatever they come with next, I would probably sell this one and jump into the next (if I like the experience).

There's never been a better time to jump in.

Here are some of my must haves:

Farpoint
Moss
Astro Bot
The Persistence
Wipeout Omega
Rez
Dirt Rally

$300 is an amazing price point for the system, I said that back when I picked mine up at launch. You're almost losing money if you don't pick it up at that price, compared to the value of the experience. The only thing I'd hold off on is for a refresh on the headset, which seems to me will likely launch within a year of the PS5. Could that be 2020? Maybe--there's no way of knowing until we do. But honestly, if you're interested, I'd say go for it. Resident Evil 7 is a must-play, Tetris and Astro Bot look incredible, and you're getting Beat Saber at the end of the year. If you can't afford it on PC, PSVR is not to be missed.
I felt like stealing almost with the 250 no tax skyrim bundle. Ridiculous deal.

Ok I'm planning to play these games mostly with the DS4. I don't plan to purchase the moves controllers anytime soon. Still worth it for games such as Firewall, Farpoint, Doom VFR or Dick?

Aim and Moves are actually different controllers entirely. Aim is the way to play those four games you mentioned, but they're fine with a Dualshock if you don't want another controller cluttering your space.

Until Dawn: Rush Blood is a nice on-rail shooter and it was a PS+ title some time ago so hopefully you new PSVR owners added you your library back them.
VR Worlds is another good one, especially the London Heist part which like Astro Bot it's getting a full blown version of it coming out.

For those saying they are going to wait for PSVR on PS5... you guys do know that is like... 3 years away right?

PS5 will probably launch 2020 and PSVR2 2021.

And PSVR1 is most definitely going to be compatbile with PS5.

I would insta buy one at $299 if I could. It is WAAAAAY too expensive in Brazil though, there is no way I can afford one now =/

Superhot VR is a must if you do end up buying it. I unfortunately had to get rid of my PSVR at launch due to most of the games at the time making me dizzy. My friend had one though and months later I tried it and any game that has room scale movement I'm fine with. I now regret returning mine as its currently a hard sell with the wife to buy another. I'll be jumping back in with the next revision for sure.

Everytime I tried it at a friend's house, I got motion sickness after a short session, Don't think VR is for me unfortunately...

Wish I could enjoy Astro Bot tho, it seems great. Bummer.

I'll jump in when I can do a full online lobby in Gran Turismo with VR. Until then, it's not the time.

Sorry if it's already been said, but at this point I feel like it'd be worth it to wait for black friday deals.

Edit: Sonuvabitch haha

As I already said guys, Black Friday here in Canada sucks when it comes to gaming. It's alright for TV and such, but don't expect 50% off on stuff like PSVR bundle :/

I missed that. Okay, go ahead and buy it now if you don't expect any sales in the next couple of months. If Sony is serious about VR I would think they would offer a promotion now since we're getting toward the end of the PS4's life.

How much does having a pro benefit PSVR? I don't have a PS4, and the buy-in is pretty massive if you don't already have a PS4.
It's resolution bumps from sub 1080p to 1070p in most cases, occasionally better AA or draw distance as well. There are only two or three games I'd recommend avoiding if you don't have a Pro, so you'll still have a great experience imo with a less expensive used PS4 if you're looking to save some cash.

The cool thing about PSVR is that Sony encourages devs to support DS4 when possible, so actually yeah, those games are all perfectly playable. Personally I feel Doom VFR plays best with DS4, but I think Farpoint and Firewall benefit greatly from having an Aim controller.

I'd say yes, yes it is time. There are so many great games out for it. VR has been all that I've been playin lately, but I recently switched back to 2d gaming to play through batman from a recent flash sale. Otherwise if be playing Skyrim (over 70 hours clocked so far), Superhot, Zone of the Enders, Rec Room, or many of the other games I have. That new ping pong game looks badass too. I haven't even considered picking up Astrobot, only because I have too much to play already

VR is the future of gaming and Sony has been ahead of the curb since this gen began. They invested right and unlike Vita, the PSVR is a success so they're absolutely going to keep supporting it and giving it more quality games. We're finally starting to see some legitimate VR experiences come out like the new Astro Bot game, which is based on the playroom for PS4 if I'm correct.

This is my understanding. A Sony exec just went on the record to state that we should expect longer, more fleshed out VR games moving forward. Despite contrary claims from earlier threads, PSVR is far from dead or "the next Vita." Over the past few months, the platform has been flourishing. Time to dive in, if you're on the fence.

I really enjoyed my time with PSVR but decided to sell it a few months back. I felt it was a great preview of things to come but for me the tech isn't where I want it yet.

Polybius is amazing for zoning out. PSVR is worth the price. I won't upgrade to better VR until foveated rendering is a thing so we can get apparent 4K/8K per eye without the huge rendering horsepower required.

I bought it for about a day and then returned it. RE7 was pretty cool but other than that, there weren't any games that I was dying to play over my current backlog to make the purchase worthwhile. Firewall looks pretty cool but not enough for me to invest in PSVR. Maybe if it's cheap enough, I'd consider it.

Wouldn't surprise me if they waited until the release of the PS5 Pro like they did this time. Maybe in 2023? Then again that might be too long of a wait so maybe it will be 2021

Looking at Astro Bot, the game looks really swell. EBGames, Gamestop equivalent here in Canada is selling the PSVR with a camera and both Moss and Astro Bot starting this Friday for $300 cdn. Seems like a good deal to me. My question is: Are there any other killer apps on the platform? I am aware of stuff like Skyrim VR and Resident Evil VII but frankly I've already played those games so I am looking at new experiences.

Anything worthwhile? Would this be a good time to jump into the VR madness for cheap?
where did you see it's going to be 300?

Also, can we return it within 30 days?

VR is necessary.

It's time for PSVR even if you already have another VR platform, at this point. So I'd say it stands pretty strong now.

I hope ps5 has new vr and tech. While I love psvr it feels limiting with is tracking when you try something like vive.

I'm going to say no. Unless you can get it extremely cheap. Less than retail on sale cheap. Sony is going on have to come out with a new VR solution for the next gen. And I doubt it will be forward compatible. I regret my PSVR purchase as of right now. It just doesn't hold a candle to something like the Vive or Right, and now with Pimax and knuckles around the corner it's just completely antiquated to me.

Hand presence and room scale is absolutely key to the VR experience and immersion.

Had issues with the tracking on my set. Ended up selling it because of that. Some good games on it though.

Still don't even know which headset I want to buy. Sony has some nice exclusives with Astrobot, WipeOut and Resident Evil 7 VR but I'm also interested in whatever games Valve will cook up with the HTC Vive. I don't want two headsets and need something a little future proof that won't be outdated in a year.

Sub 200€ for PSVR V2 with camera, game and Move controllers would be impulse purchase territory for me.
That's the price were I wouldn't be too mad if the set isn't forward compatble with PS5.

Do you need a special version of vr games? Like wipeout, re7, Skyrim, or do the normal versions work with vr?

now's the best time.... IF you're looking for a deal on what's still relatively hot new tech.

next gen of headsets are coming, will probably run circles around it and make the asking price seem like a joke, so if you simply just want to play the exclusives at some indeterminate point it'll be bargain bin cheap not too long

I've said this before, but since I picked mine up a few months ago it's the first time for ages that I've felt like I'm playing something different and after having played Astro bot for a while today it's one of those "this is why I play games" feelings. There's a lot of content to download for free on the PS store and even the paid content is actually really reasonably priced for the most part.
Everybody I've showed it to has been really impressed with it, it's like back when we were kids and somebody got the latest console and every went round to theirs to check it out.

Statik is still one of my favourite titles for PS VR - makes a great use of the tech in a very simple way that iterates beautifully on its own logic. Also a very gentle introduction if you've never tried VR before.

It was already worth it from Day 1. For the current price its a must buy. Just make sure you actually have the space for it.
