I'm resubbing to GB Premium the second this gets announced. By far my favorite series on the site and I really want to experience some of that live.Hope Dan is able to get the Mario Party Party band back together one last time...
Well, I made that post under the assumption that all the boards actually are good, based off of the post I quoted. So what happens if, out of the 4 boards in this game, only 2 of them are good? Like simply having less boards isn't a guarantee they're all going to be good.
Honestly, I think Star Rush should be a main feature going forward. Before Super Mario Party (tentatively-speaking), the 3DS game that focused on it was the only good game ND Cube had released for the series. It's actually pretty cool having a board where you have free movement like that, and it's a nice change-up to regular board play, unlike a certain abandoned car mechanic. The low number of boards was a concern of mine as soon as they showed the Star Rush-type boards. They're fun enough, but I wish they had gone all in on the classic boards. Nevertheless, it's a huge step in the right direction for the series, and I hope they continue to build on this.

As a standard, 74 is the highest Mario Party has been and that was 17 years ago with MP3.

Considering that now there are more sites that review games, I think that a 74 now is better than a 74 almost 20 years ago.Oh man, am I gonna like a Mario Party again since MP4? :O Looks like it!
But does a 74 in early 2000s equal a 74 in 2018? ;)
Yes.So to be clear, to play this game with 3 people I need 3 joy-cons right?
I only have the original 2. Just want to know if I need to buy another set.
That's all good enough for me. Will be grabbing it Friday. Sounds like a shortage of boards and minigames are the only thing holding it back. Dlc hopefully.
Online unfortunately isn't active yet but it's just the minigames which doesn't give it a great deal of value in my eyes
So, has the game the classic board mode (Mario Party mode) available for single player (with 3 CPUs)? If so, instant buy for me.
there's absolutely not a shortage of minigames, board yes but this thing is carrying the biggest amount of original minigames since...the original ?
Oh the minigames themselves are great but I can't see myself just playing them on their own over and over. It's good that the game actually has an online component but they really need to have the board game in there.
I should clarify, several of the reviews point out that the side modes that restrict the minigames to certain configurations (partner mode for instance) lead to games recycling quicker.
I'm honestly pumped for the game though.
