3D World. It's the best multiplayer Mario by far and we already have a single player one. NSMBUDX won't do it for me.

Easily Super Mario Galaxy. As for why, I think Galaxy 2 is the single best Mario game ever made. It might actually be my favourite game of all time.

Its either Galaxy or Odyssey, they are the best ones. Id be fine with 3D World 2, but its not ideal.

If it's all blocky and abstract looking, I'd go with SM64, even if it's probably my least liked if the bunch.

Right now, Odyssey.

But I really want to explore the Mushroom Kingdom in 3D. I want to see fortresses in the distance and overcome platforming challenges to get there - and then work out the best way in. I want to fly over a World 8-1 bottomless pit. I want to explore underground caverns and burst through the ceiling climbing a hidden beanstalk.

I want to make my own way from 1-1 to 8-4 in 3D, without being segmented into stages, if such a thing can be realised.

3D Land. Not World. Gimme that super tight level design built around a single player character, and those amazing platforming-focused Bowser fights that were a true evolution of the Mario 1 style.

(Actually I want Mario Maker 2 the most if that counts.)

1. Super Mario Odyssey

2. Super Mario 3D Land

3. Super Mario 3D World

4. Super Mario Bros. 3 (retro sequel with NES graphics)

I guess it is debatable to some extent whether or not 64 got a "sequel", but if I had to pick one it would definitely be that one. With the same overall structure (castle, star+quest design, classicly themed levels, etc).

They would never want to do something so similar though.

Odyssey, but honestly I'd rather prefer Nintendo reinventing the wheel once again for the next 3D Mario.

Galaxy 2 and 3D World (From 3D Land), have been the only exceptions so I don't see why people want a repeat in any formula. As successful as they all are.

Odyssey.

Galaxy 2 took what Galaxy 1 and did it better. I see Odyssey 2 doing the same thing.

Odyssey was a fine game but why it'd be the top choice for a sequel for anyone is beyond me.

"Hey man, uh.... spare some of them moons?"

XboYrkd.png

Bad example, have you seen speedruns of that game? That moon is literally comedy gold in a speedrun format.

But besides, Odyssey can last up to 60 hours with that kind of gameplay and still be as fun as any other previous 3D Mario, so I'd obviously go for that, also because Mario's movement is top notch in Odyssey, why someone would like the return of 3D World or Galaxy's gameplay is beyond me.

I want a sequel to Sunshine or 3D World.

The announcement of New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe Hyper Turbo Alpha Arcade Edition Zero 3 Upper was actually a disappointment as I would have much preferred a port of 3D World over NSMBU. (And I loved NSMBU!)

Any 3D Mario sequel is fine by me. I love them all equally hah. Even Sunshine despite it's annoying red coin quests and questionable final levels and the pachinko segments
Super Mario Sunshine obvs. I mean...this map alone shows me that there are more places to discover! God damn it, take me to the crab and turtle-shaped islands, Nintendo! I've been wanting to go these places for years. T_T

Flight_to_Delfino_Island.png
Dammmnnn. That'll be awesome! Each island as big and full of levels as isle delfino! Do eeeeet, Nintando!

Odyssey. But I'm not picky, I'll take a few DLC worlds instead of a full blown sequel. Or Luigi's Odyssey. Whatever really...

Probably either Odyssey (which will happen), or Sunshine. Both cappy and flood are really fun to use. I'd like to see some more serious platforming involving them. Or maybe a M64 type game where cappy and flood are power ups you can get for different levels.

Galaxy already has a sequel so it's obviously Odyssey (as Sunshine and 3D World are the lesser Mario games). There's still so much potential on the table for more worlds in different settings.

Don't know why we would need a 64 sequel as Odyssey improves on pretty much everything 64 did.

3D World was some of the most fun I've had in Mario since Galaxy. I'd love to have a sequel in the vein of Galaxy 2 that's just the same thing with new levels and refined gameplay. 3D World seemingly never ended. Every time you finished it they gave you another world. There were like 4 post-game worlds. It just kept throwing them at you. I'd rather have a nice 3D World 2 on Switch than just a port which is what we'll probably end up getting.

The easy answer is Odyssey 2. And I'd love that too. Either game would make me happy really. Both have real potential for expansion. Odyssey works because of how different all the worlds are. They probably have dozens of ideas they never used that could make it into a sequel. At this point I'd settle for paid DLC like we've been expecting for a while now.

Basically either one is fine. It's more Mario. 3D World is great because you have so many characters to play as. In Odyssey you only have Mario. Not even Luigi gets a chance to play like he did in both Galaxy games.

Sunshine. I know it wasn't the best. But its foundation was strong and I think a sequel could be excellent.

Was never fussed about the Galaxy or 3D World games, so any of the others would be fine by me.
Sunshine especially though. Would've said 64 before Odyssey came out, that feels like the closest thing to a spiritual successor.
On that note more Odyssey please.
