that did the trick
i'm starting to wonder how many more twin peaks references i'm going to see in this game because i've seen a couple so far
Well, 428 is the spiritual successor to MachiPlatinum complete, and now I feel a little empty inside. =(
Hope we get another game in this universe someday (or at least something in it's style)
I love how they're all entirely unsubtle too, it's hilarious.
There's at least a couple more past where you are; not sure if I've seen all of them yet either, of course.
the game is trolling me for certain now
i saw 2 minorikawa jumps in the same chapter on osawa and thought they jumped to the same time so i totally ignored doing the other and exhausted the other options for the 2 of them and gave up and tried the other jump option also is there really a spelling error "choonsoft" in their own game lol
I feel like I'm missing the obvious, currently stuck at the keep outs for Tama and Minorikawa at the 12:00 block, any tips?
Ok, glad I saw this when I was still on the couch after turning off my PS4; I just finished the main game (will post my thoughts after doing more of the bonus stuff tomorrow) and had quit for the night, but it was easy enough to open it back up.
Thing is, there's two Jumps for Minorikawa, and I'm not sure which you mean. Going forward, it'd be best to give the specific time (and ideally a spoiler tagged description of where you're blocked) as well when asking; it's not as easy to tell what you need in retrospect for KOs without that since not every Jump actually is used to clear something. Of course... in this case I guess a time alone doesn't even help, since they're listed for jumping to the same time, 12:35. They do go to different points, so I'll list them in the order of where you'd end up... I'm assuming it's the first one giving you trouble, anyway.
Minorikawa:
Osawa 12:35
You'll need to have Toyama go by Osawa's house, and then have Osawa be there to save him.Achi 12:45
Though I think this one is by default, so...
Meanwhile, do both of the above and you should end up fine for Tama? If not...
Tama:
Minorikawa 12:50
But I'm fairly sure you'll have this by default; I thought a choice might be involved but it does what you'd need either way, and the other one I thought about causes bad ends. So it shoooould be by default, I think.
Yep, I imagine it was deliberate.Have you guys noticed the signature on Jack Stanley's ID card?
I'd really appreciate some help with the bonus content. But if possible, only a hint, please...
Could I at least get a person or hour block for the 4th question about the "argument"? I felt so good about the first 3 - I even immediately guessed the first by chance, hah - but this was... maybe less memorable than they expected? Cause I can't find it, but I don't want to just be told it (especially as the only guide I found seems to be a straight list where I'd likely end up seeing another couple after), hmm.
meanwhile this Osawa waiting for movement to end one sucks; there's a lot of different moving backgrounds in that unclogging scene and there's like 0 ability to jump through most of the conversation so it took forever to keep trying different parts...
even though from the other 2 I know it only takes like 30 seconds for the code to appear, and that it's a panning camera, I have no idea if that's the rule or those 2 are just nice
...honestly for that one I would appreciate just being told what part/line it is, if anyone knows, so I can stop wasting time on that one specifically; at some point I should give up and use a guide entirely but I want to try first...
Bonus content:
I found the codes, but I don't understand how they work?
Minorikawa
You want the part shortly after the clog, Kajiwara comes into Osawa's office and there's a close up on his hands with the gloves on.
Well, the website title is accurate.I was looking into that Canaan anime spinoff and apparently this ini Minorikawa:
What the heck happened there...

Does anyone know the real name of the actor that plays Achi Endo?
EDIT: Ok, so my sister was watching me play the game because it was a live action VN (she's never seen that before) ... and she ended up getting hooked. She's also got a crush on the guy who's playing Achi and is bugging me to find out his name and if he has an Instagram/Twitter account. I haven't finished the game yet and I'm still avoiding spoilers, so I'm a bit hesitant to use Google search for this.
C'mon, help a brother out?
Does anyone know how to get bad end 82? I tried around a couple times but keep getting different bad ends. Would appreciate the help if anyone knows. I'm following that fuwanovel guide but I must be doing something wrong. Guides for this game are also practically nonexistent
I searched for the cast on Google and found Achi. His name is Yûto Nakamura: https://twitter.com/Yuuto_nakamura
Thank you! This helped a lot. My problem was that I was trying to get it too early. The guide makes it seem like the ending is right after that choice, but it is actually past a bunch of keep outs lolI can try to find it specifically when I get home tonight, but off the top of my head, given the numbering... I'm assuming you've beaten the game, to be clear...
It's either one of the bomb ones or right before it, isn't it? There are obviously a few different ways for the bomb to go off. Kano not thinking the bomb's on Palmer (I believe both of these are different endings?), Tateno not stopping the call to Hitomi's phone, etc.
For the bomb exploding, there should be a Kano ending for each Achi ending. If you've gotten all of the other endings, you should have already seen each possible situation. It's a little more complicated to make use of that without hints, especially since they reuse the icons+names of these several times, but that'll at least narrow down how early or late it is in that scene since you should be able to line up the missing ending with the corresponding one on the other character that you do have. Oh, and Kano letting Palmer get away to catch the vial should be like this too, I think?
I can also glance at the Fuwanovel guide now, if you give me a few minutes...
EDIT:
Oh, whoops, I was completely wrong after glancing at the Fuwanovel guide. I got that one naturally, and wow is that ever a super vague guide that barely connects anything or tells you what you're actually trying to do; I can't even tell who it's for. But thankfully, googling got me a video of the JP version of the ending and so...
I'm pretty sure it's just Stanley's side of Tateno's Bad End 85? I'm guessing you just averted that from happening before you got past a Keep Out on Stanley?
i'm stuck once again but near what i think is the end
i can't get around achi shouting susumu and having alphard throw the vials in the air, again i've exhausted pretty much most of the options that i think would have an impact on the event but no change, after the last point i got stuck on (with minorikawa guessing the wrong name) i figure the trigger is going to be something really dumb like osawa refusing a banana at the begining of the game
It is worth remembering that only choices within a block can affect that block, but you might want to look back nearer the start of that block for some changes.
For something a bit more spoilery:
Did you salute with Kano?
i did it just before i saw the quote alert
i didn't think the game would pull this on me and allow me to jump to new character viewpoints, if i think i'm as far as i am it seems weird that the game is adding this in as a feature
Now that I've finally properly finished DQXI, I'm coming back to this game, and I'm really loving the writing, the flow and the overall tone of the game.
The localization is stellar in the sense that it's never stilted and manages to convey a lot of things. I absolutely love some of the contextual definitions you get when you press square. The sea lion impression might be my favorite so far.
I just reached 14:00 and Yanigishita is my MVP. The actor is fantastic, so much screenshot material there.
(spoilers up to 14:00)
I never go looking for these things, but I really expected Tama to be Maria, given how the game went out of its way to hide her identity. So I'm glad it's already out of the way, because that means it's not a particularly huge late game twist.

No joke. I can't imagine it having gotten this layer of love and care.I sorta expected it, but I was surprised they revealed it so soon! I do prefer that from the "I want the twist to happen sooner" perspective I usually get when I know a spoiler, but since it was only a prediction here I got to feel the side of wondering if it was true and how they'd reveal it. So it was definitely a bit of a shock still, and I think it was definitely a good time to reveal it rather than drag it out.
Also, yes, the Tips are amazing. Some are hilarious, and then others are somehow emotional/sentimental gut punches within the span of a paragraph. I feel like the localization really shines there in particular, too.
Honestly, it might have one of the best localizations I've seen like... ever...? To the degree that I can't be actually annoyed that we didn't get a game I love like this, that really goes right for some themes/mechanics that I'm so into, a decade ago when it came out in Japan, because it would never have gotten this fantastic localization.
Did this game really bomb sales wise? That'd be unfortunate. The localization is amazing and the game completely deserves it.
I thought the Canaan anime was -terrible- when I watched it like 10 years ago. Its so much worse in retrospect. It took all the fun and charm of this game and slapped a shitty anime aesthetic all over it. I'll just pretend like it doesn't exist honestly.

Superniche games being localized on a shoe-string budget don't have the means to be heavily marketed. The audience for visual novels is inherently very small, costs have to be cut to have these games come over at all. Like most visual novels coming over need to be profitable with a few thousand sales because very few games in this genre ever get beyond that.Yeahhhhh, I've noticed a lot of games releasing lately with little to no marketing and then bombing. No one is saying ANYTHING about Punchline. It feels like they're just releasing some of these games for the people who know about it and want it, not actually hoping to get amazing sales. It says only like 100 people own it on psnprofiles lol. I know it's not indicative of everyone who owns it but that's a pretty sad number.
I know people that were interested but not for the price they were selling it at.I honestly can't see how Spike could have marketed it better shy of commercials(lol). They did just about everything viable: blogs, videos, character highlights, etc.
People just weren't interested.
Games with much less content still sell for more, but it being a VN did it no favors I guess.I know people that were interested but not for the price they were selling it at.
