It's not Rocksteady's game. The Avalanche theory makes sense. That studio sure has been through a lot over the past couple of years.

I'm really starting to think Rocksteady's game is Batman again lmao.

Lol people actually want a Superman game? He's such a boring character with boring villains.

People keep saying this and the only thing it ever proves is a lack of knowledge about Superman lol.

I really hope companies don't do the cross gen thing again. Wasn't it said that all the cross gen stuff this time around didn't sell hardly at all on ps3/360? Why go through this again and hamstring your games with old tech?
They're all hiring for it, so prepare yourself.

Mind, they might stop earlier than they did last time, but launch games were still doing 50-70% of their business on last gen.

This is what Studio Gobo partnered with for WB. They have some small concept art on their pages (I still don't know why companies do this).

About 10 years too late for this game, my interest in the franchise evaporated years ago.

I'm no HP fan, but I'd rather have a game based on that than a Justice League game from Rocksteady.

This. is. not. by. Rocksteady.
Schreier has already confirmed this above, along with a EuroGamer article. This is a different studio and is being hypothesized to be by Avalanche. Just takes 2 minutes to look to the thread to realize this man.

He's a generic Christ-figure with powers the writers make up as they go along. There's no cohesive story like there is with HP, and Darkseid or Lex Luthor can't hold a candle to Voldemort. If you'd rather have a shitty open-world Superman game where he flies through rings and shit, that's your preference.

The two options I'm leaning on for Rocksteady is either some sort of Batfamily game, or Green Lantern Corps.

WB likes GaaSy games they can nickel and dime you for for a long time, so I'm leaning more towards GLC. Some people don't think the property is big enough for that, but I think it is.

Rocksteady's working on a Green Lantern Corps game.... aren't they?

Wow, WB let that video remain up for quite a bit of time before taking it down.

Edit: no surprise, since the taken down message admits that the footage is owned by WB Entertainment

This looks nice and all - but i simply can't get over the fact that we're playing as kids and killing is a big no-no.
Like, doesn't the entirety of Harry Potter's combat (at least for the good guys) revolve around disarming and petrifying your enemies. That's rather tame.

And i did see that they're burying those goblins under rocks, and even impaling them with a piece of wooden door - How is that allowed?

It feels somewhat weird trying to shoe-horn combat gameplay into a rather innocent children's franchise.

What i'm trying to say is mostly: They need to do a good job trying to get the tone right. (Both in relation narrative <--> gameplay, but also "narrative + gameplay" <--> "the potterverse in its entirety")
On the contrary, I would welcome a much darker peek at the universe. This sort of thing undoubtedly happens in the HP world, and not every entry in the franchise needs to hide this

I know using ERA on a regular basis does not help but I'm growing a dislike to how many sweet surprises are being spoiled due to early leaks.

Imagine the reactions if this was reveladed during an E3 or similar event.

Why does it look next gen? Like the character models and lighting are looking very good, but so are the character models and lighting in any recent AAA title. There's also some really chunky looking low poly models that suggests current gen.

Is there another copy of the footage as the original link seems to have been taken down.

Out of curiosity has WB confirmed its existence by claiming copy right (not sure how copy right law works) ?

About damn fucking time!

I've been waiting for an open world HP game for at least half of my life... So many possibilities if done right and the footage looks very promising so far.

Ummmm.....
Particularly within the older generations of wizards(like 19th century), wizards were actually a great deal more violent.

And.... uh.....
Harry Potter isn't just a "kids franchise", it certainly started that way, and then it grew up with the fan base.

Considering that well over half of supporting cast dies throughout the course of the books as well, it's not hard to see.

And.... regarding magical creatures. There were absolutely no rights for them back then, especially considering that Newt hadn't come along just yet, we had Wizards that killed magical creatures(especially dragons) for sport.
