I mean this is definitely Avalanche(DIsney Infinity not JC/Mad Max) and from the rumors, is intended as a AAA product.

I see it now. Even the music cues and the way the trailer is edited is similar to Disney Infinity stuff. But who knows at this point.

here
I'm not a fan of the older setting, but if it's good I'll play it for sure.

I actually don't think the footage, apart from being set in the amazing Harry Potter universe, looked that good. Animations, effects, or level of detail was actually not so great. Certainly not on a level (yet?) of what we've seen of other recent AAA open world games.
Last but not least I didn't claim: This is not going to be AAA! I said: This might not be a triple AAA game. It was assuming. I also assumed this because the thread title and OP was changed multiple times. At first they claimed this was by AAA game studios (Rocksteady and Avalanche Studios) and now it is apparently not.
Character animation needs work, yes, but the world building and the scope of the game is impressive.

Also, can you show me some examples of AAA games that can do environmental destruction to kill your enemies like in 00:44? Not a cutscene, pure gameplay.

EA's old Harry Potter games went to shit with Goblet of Fire because they moved away from the "open world Hogwarts" formula they had in Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban (and PS1 version of Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone).

I just want some of that again.

Order of the Phoenix is GTA Hogwarts though? It became on the rails starting from HBP, unless you count the weird PSP game that was kinda like classic Resident Evil.

Looks very promising. FInally a big AAA non-movie Harry Potter Game.

I wanted something a bit more in the vein of Persona where a group of kids solve a mystery at the school together while also attending classes, hanging out with friends, etc. Buuut... something a bit more free form to emphasize magic combat could work too.

I dunno, y'all, I hope this is good. HP is rife with good game material.

Clearly a fair ways to go in development but it looks like the big budget Harry Potter game we've been without for years and years. Cannot wait to see more

You know what's the funny thought I had in my head when watching that leak?

"Man, this game looks aggressively AAA western developed"

Will hope it's real but expecting a fake. If it's a fake, kudo's to the Person/s who made it.
If it is real then it is an awesome Setting and premise!
Maybe they waited with a game set in the past until they saw how Magic Beast would be received and then started development.
Some of the footage looks clunky ( facial animations, movement) but it has serious HP universe vibe.

Coming out. Gonna be a while still though

We just saw what a high polished AAA Spider-Man game can do. Just imagine what a AAA Harry Potter game thats multiplatform is gonna do

Oh interesting. 2020? If that's the case, this looks great for what they have so far. I can't even imagine how good it'll look with another year or so of polish.

Talking about this with my friends made us think back to the old games and I remembered a section in Harry Potter 1 that was close to giving me a heart attack at 5 years old.

I hated this section so, so much.

Wow that looks so good! The destructible environments are impressive.

Hopefully we finally get a good Harry Potter game (the only good games imo are the GBC Harry Potter RPGs). WB better not ruin it with excessive micro-transactions...

Great premise. Movement looks awful, but makes sense if its just leaked early footage. I'd definitely be interested once it gets announced.

It helps a lot it's being built on UE4. Gives them a big head start instead of having to build an engine from scratch

Looks like this is everything I would ever want from a Harry Potter game, can't wait.

The tank controls ruin that game for me. So conceptually interesting for a PS1 game and it was super super ambitious with how big and open it was but it controls like complete ass.

Holy shit, YES! I am so excited for this, I sent this to my to a couple of even bigger HP fans than me so I pray to god this doesn't end up fake, hahahaha.

Looks so good for a project that's early in development, if it's indeed Avalanche then Jesus how many teams does this studio have? Hahaha. I do hope it's another studio that's going to solely focus on it.

I suppose we might be looking at a 2020-2021 game?
