Anyone know how much of the game is playable (if any) at the "Ready to Start" state? I've been downloading most of the day (internet sucks) and I'm almost there. Really itching to play.

I dont really understand the car unlock progress in this game. Surprisingly, it let me buy the Ferrari 488 and then I immediately used it in a race? Im at the beginning of the game and that seems like a mid-game car. Does that mean there's no real use to the less powerful cars because you can buy the better cars from the beginning?

Something weird really happened. The update reached 15GB out of 22GB and now its back to 6MB. WHAT IS GOING ON?!

I launched the game by mistake before the download finished btw
And the update is now stuck at 30MB of 22GB. Please help!

there is no car progression system, just drive what you like, it showers you in cars sooner than later anyways

Those driving assist settings make a huge difference in making the game a bit more challenging. I do feel on normal it's a tad easy to get away with some reckless stuff but changing it to Pro definitely brings in a different feel; even more when you switch some things to simulation level.
So, you're saying I should turn TCS off?

I'm deadass I played horizon 1 (and most other driving games) with it on...I might give it a try tonight

A word of caution to people downloading from another region... You may have to re-download once it unlocks in your location.

I did the New Zealand trick to download and play this evening. It hit midnight here now, so I switched my Xbox location back to the UK.

When I tried to relaunch the game some error came up saying the 'owner' needs to be signed in. I went to the store (UK), and it showed as Installed still so the game was available.

Anyways, after several restarts and no luck, I caved in and deleted the install so I could download again.

Of course not, lower powered cars are not worse than S and X class beasts, they can be just as fun, and just as challenging to drive. Also, certain events will require specific classes, vehicle types, manufacturers... They all have a role to play.

Cheeky Lambos seasonal event is some grade A bullcrap. I've never been so frustrated with a Forza Horizon game and I played them all.

First red flag was when I noticed I'm being forced to team up with other people while playing a Singe Player campaign. I sensed trouble, but I thought I'll give this event a benefit of the doubt "Eh, how bad can this be, it's just some coop fun against AI". Naive me didn't know how bad this is about to get.

This event is INSANE difficulty spike compared to everything I did in the game so for over 30 hours or so. The objective is to beat a team of Highly Skilled drivatars with a team of real people. Biggest problem is that these drivatars are nothing like Highly Skilled drivatars from Solo events. I think their difficulty is more in line with Unbeatable. WTF? This wouldn't even be big of a problem for me, EXCEPT, you have to rely on other people who are in your team to also be good drivers. This hasn't happened yet. Is this like a high end Destiny 2 raid? Are we supposed to use websites and look for good players ourselves to stand a fair chance at this event?

I lost count how many times I attempted this event by now. I also read that even if you manage to win both races for some people it's bugged and they don't get the Super Wheelspin reward. What a kick in the teeth after all that hard work... meh.

Wondering what others think who attempted this event?

Can someone help clear up for me why I can pick a car before some races but not others?

I get that my opponents will always be tailored to roughly my car's class, but sometimes I still want to completely change to something different. I'm wondering if this is a bug, or if it's intentional for some set of races I haven't identified yet.

I didn't really think much about this disparity until Jeff Gerstmann mentioned the same thing in his review

So what's the deal with owning property/houses? I remember hearing about it around E3 but haven't been following too closely since then.

Is it just an aesthetic/customization thing or is there a purpose to them?

You can always pick a car except for the steet racing scene events. For these you simply drive the car you've selected.

What if I started the download from the NZ store, got like 10GB into it, then switched everything back to US and the download still continued on like nothing was wrong?

you will eventually get ones to fill out the other classes of car so that way you can always participate in races. Some are only C class cars for example and things like that or some are dirt only (especially because there is player created races) so having a healthy variety of cars is important in that aspect.

but yeah...other than that race with whatever you want!

Damn, that's rough.

Seems fine on Win 10 FWIW. I downloaded it earlier today and played a few hours in NZ time. Just switched back to test it and not lost any progress or had any login issues.

Anyone else not getting the correct weekly payout from Forza Hub? I've been getting the same payout for the last 3 tiers I've earned.

Just sifting through the menus and run into ForzaEra in clubs. I assume that's the club on this site?

Ohhhh that sounds right then. Thanks!

I wonder why, though?

I'm guessing the in-universe reason is that most races are prepared and people have time to arrange to get their other cars to the track, whereas the street races are meant to be this spontaneous 'show up and and start racing' thing. No idea if that's the intention, but that's how it comes across to me.

The Metascore dropped one point, is 91 again, just like Forza Horizon 3.
This game needs more 10s, the 8s it received are damaging him a lot. Hopefully the score will rise again with the reviews that will be out by tomorrow, but idk, i have a bad feeling. IBTimes UK review is not yet available.

no, it doesn´t need more 10s because essentially it is stagnation on a high level and this entry, bar the seasons, doesn´t do enough new stuff, too much is reused from FH3 and there is stuff added which isn´t needed in a car game (emotes, clothes)

game is good but lets not get carried away...it wouldn´t even crack a 9 for me, it is a solid 8.5 at best

I guess we'll see but that sounds unusual. I have us games, with kiwi bought add ons, and they all launch fine. I've also downloaded the nz version of game pass games and they've been fine switching back to UK.
