There's a limit though. I would say that BvS is a trainwreck, but that movie was an unentertaining slog.
Yeah not every bad movie is better than a mediocre movie. BvS did manage to be both meh and overly long. I looked at my phone during that movie thinking I was halfway done with it and was dismayed to see that I still have well over half the movie left to see.

What kind of stories about Tom Hardy were there in Taboo?

There was stuff about him staying in character trying to bite the soundman as he tried to fit a radio mic on him, refusing to do more than one take for any given scene. My favourite though is the story that Hardy had an argument with a producer and set designer (??) before a take.., where he was completely naked and remained naked throughout the 'discussion'.

If you Google about I'm sure you'll find some more in depth takes.

I read a review of Smallfoot and apparently that film sort of balloons into a parable about living in a fake news, post truth world.

Pretty much. Also a critique of accepting religious dogma over science. The movie is very pro-science.

My kids wanted to go and for the first 20 minutes or so I am writing reviews in my head of exactly how mediocre this movie is, and then it got good. Way better than it had any right to be. Songs got better, too.

The first act is very formulaic "oddball in a small town sees beyond the horizon" stuff but once it gets past that it gets interesting.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: If a movie trailer opened with the words "From the people who brought you The Adventures of Pluto Nash..." I would be 100% in on the movie.

I guess any hope of a new Friday the 13th flick is dead and buried
It was explained that U.S. District Court Judge Stefan Underhill granted summary judgment in favor of Miller and against the producers, Horror, Inc. Full details were not disclosed, but Miller is said to be retaining the Friday the 13th rights in the U.S. alone, which makes it complicated to use the title. As for Jason Voorhees, his infamous mask wasn't introduced until Friday the 13th Part III

"Following the guidelines set down by the Court's ruling, we intend to aggressively explore many opportunities for new projects featuring settings and characters (including the hockey mask-wearing killer) not included in Mr. Miller's screenplay, and in fact are currently in development on new projects that are consistent with the ruling which will be announced soon."

I continue to stand by Into The Spideverse making serious bank in December.

I will be vindicated like I was with Incredibles.

Venom is getting not great reactions from people who saw it; and by not great I mean it sounds like it fell out of 2004 and is complete trash. So expect my review on Thursday because I yet to learn stop paying to see trash movies even after seeing both Suicide Squad and Peppermint in theaters. God help me.

https://deadline.com/2018/10/venom-...-is-born-tunes-up-for-a-long-tour-1202474768/

It has been awhile since there's been a superhero movie, so Sony/Tencent's Venom based on the Marvel property arrives with enough anticipation this frame to drive its opening weekend to an estimated $160 million-$175 million global start, with the domestic box office headed toward an October opening record of $60M-$65M at 4,250 theaters plus Imax. The latter would best the month's current record-holder, Warner Bros' Gravity, which opened to $55.7M in 2013.

Pen Venom 2 into your calendar.

Remember kids

Venom fails = "We need Spider-Man back for our Spiderman Cinematic Universe to succeed!"

Venom succeeds = "We are so awesome! We don't need Marvel anyone, we need Spider-Man back!"

Seems like Sony's marketing team did its job in South Korea. I do wonder how big the drops will be.
