Yeah this game has done a lot for representation hasn't it. Man Chloe and Max forever! Also which choice did people make at the end Of LiS? And I don't think I can play Life is strange 2 because it isn't out in IOS. Do saves carry over from different platforms?
So I played episode 5 right when it launched but AFAIK the two choices at the end of LiS went pretty much 50/50. Half chose Chloe, half sacrificed her.

So the saves don't matter in LiS2 but the game asks you about your choice at the end of LiS. LiS2 is only out on the consoles and PC so far, but chances are that it will move to other platforms over time if the past season can be used as an example. Can you only play on iOS?

I can play on PC, but unfortunately my fingers don't work, so can only control the Mouse. I have a remote mouse app on my iPad but I don't know if I need a actual dedicated keyboard to play the game. Also will my saves carry over to different platforms?

So firstly, no, the saves don't carry over, but the saves don't matter at all between LiS, BtS, and Lis2. Not at all.

I played LiS2 with a controller so I can't speak to the controls with a mouse, but if it's like the first game, you make choices with the left or right mouse button, Unlike every other LiS game, though, there is for the first time time-sensitive questions that give you a countdown to answer when you're walking around some environments. They are the closest thing to requiring quick action in a series that otherwise didn't have it.

Actually, let me load it up in collectible mode and check to make sure that's how it works.

Edit: Okay, I'm not sure how you navigated the character around in LiS1, but it's the same in the sequel. Hopefully you can control them well enough! As to the few timed conversations there are, it looks like they use whatever up/down controls you may use for selecting answers. There are only a few of these, however, and missing them probably won't get in the way of the episode overall.

Also, IIRC there was a single interaction that had me mashing A on an Xbox controller. So that's there, FYI, without an option to make the QTEs more welcoming.

Just wanted to let you know about these things. If you enjoyed the first game, I can earnestly suggest you'd like BtS and the first episode of the sequel.

Do you know if you have to use a keyboard to move?

The movement is mapped to keys, yes, and I'm testing the control edits right now, and it says I can't use the left and right mouse buttons for movement, presumably because it's used for the dialogue stuff.

So unfortunately that's not a thing that can work for you. I'm sorry.

Hopefully we can make some noise at Dontnod and have them edit that in. You shouldn't be excluded from this.

SE Toby any plans for accessibility controls in Life is Strange 2? Punished Goku would like to play.

Thanks for the tag and thank you to Punished Goku for playing! Would you be able to describe how you played LiS1 and why that's no longer possible in LiS2? You mentioned using only a mouse, so I'm wondering if there's a lack of key binding customization in LiS2 for you that LiS1 had?

Once I fully understand the best possible solution for you, it'll be easier for me to pass the request on to the team. I can't guarantee anything unfortunately, but I'll certainly try.

I only started playing Captain Spirit this week, and only got a few minutes in so far, but for some reason the father is kind of scaring me.

Going to wait a while for a sale on LiS2.

Just finished LiS:BTS ch1 and I feel so bad for Chloe. Don't regret saving Her at all, sorry Arcadia Bay, but Bae comes first.

Welcome Aurc ! That avatar makes me happy.

Been thinking a lot about the ending to LiS 1 a lot, especially since the new game.

Both times I've played, I've been confident about choosing Chloe in the end. It's just hard not to, after everything she's been through. And doubly hard after playing BTS.

My question to you all is this, do you think that Arcadia Bay was just a doomed town? Do you think most people were able to survive? Would love to hear your thoughts about the ending, if it isn't discussed to death at this point and I've missed it.

People seem to think the destroyed town and plaque means everyone died but really it seems like enough people died the survivors made a plaque (which really doesn't have to be that many) and those people could move away. Take the insurance check and go somewhere else, no one seemed like they really love Arcadia Bay that much anyway.

Yours is great! Zombie Rachel looks cool, Fantomas seems to always do a good job with avatars in general.

My thoughts on the decision I made at the end hasn't changed in all these years: I saved Arcadia Bay. I loved Chloe as much as the next person, but she specifically asked Max to save the town, and I did. Not just to honor her wishes, but because that many people don't deserve to suffer and die. Chloe grew as a person throughout LiS, she fully comprehended the situation and accepted her fate bravely. I saved the Bay because I believe that's what Max, an Everyday Hero, would do.

I believe there's an unfortunate hole in our empathy where we know and understand that others have lives that are just as complex as ours, but because we never see or meet them (much of Arcadia Bay), we don't feel anything when they die. Chloe's story is one of tragedy, but everyone else are dealing with their own personal tragedies as well.

I feel like there's a lot of rationalization that goes on surrounding the Bae ending, even though Dontnod has been pretty explicitly clear about what happened.

Greensburg, Kansas is a town that was essentially wiped off the face of the Earth by a massive EF5 level tornado in 2007. 95% of the town was destroyed. However, only 11 people of the thousand-plus residents were killed. Obviously, 11 deaths is tragic, but it's not exactly the entire town. In the decade since the disaster, at least half of Greensburg's population has moved away, while the rest have stayed behind to rebuild the town to tornado-proof standards. There have been occasional tornadoes that have resulted in large death tolls of hundreds of people (usually in city areas), but never anything remotely close to an entire town's worth of people getting killed. For example, the Joplin, Missouri tornado in 2011 killed 158 people, but the town has over 50,000 residents. Tornadoes just don't work like that.

I'm not trying to "rationalize" anything, because "Dontnod said it" isn't actually an excuse for shitty writing. In lieu of relitigating a three-year-old argument, I'll just repost my previous thoughts on this issue.

11 people, 158 people... that's... still a lot more than just one? Again, I loved Chloe as much as the next person, but there are others with their own lives and families too. The extent of damage to Arcadia Bay, currently, doesn't appear to be modeled after any real-world incidents that took place anyhow. It's a supernatural tornado (which you're opting to apply real-world consistency and logic to), and the writers clearly spelled out that it would be devastating, from the first scene of the first episode. It's as simple as that. Call it shitty writing if you will (I agree), but any ambiguities in the story relating to the storm are not intentional, as it would destroy the entire trolley problem nature of the ending. With LiS2's Arcadia Bay memorial, they've aimed to cement that, and given the Bae fans something to mull over and feel some level of emotion toward. Nonetheless, the storm's impact continues to be downplayed and handwaved.

Chloe seems like too much responsibility. You have to feed her, water her, constantly make sure she doesn't die.

Chloe is absolutely my type, but I feel like our mood swings would make our relationship a bit wild. And I'd probably be overly protective of her over ANY sort of sharp object, vehicles, guns, etc. Girl is death prone. She'd have to live in bubble wrap.

And thanks for the responses on my question everyone! Was curious to hear your thoughts.

As much as I love Chloe, I'm pretty much her polar opposite.

I'm as passive as Max, but I'm probably closest to Brody on the whole.

So I beat Before the storm and I ended up really loving it! Chloe and Rachel were both such tragic characters, felt really sad for both of them. Is there any chance we'll revisit Max and Chloe again in the future? Playing the Farewell was so bittersweet.

Never say never (as in, who knows what the next few decades holds), but it seems highly unlikely right now. They've put in a lot of effort to say goodbye, so it feels like a very genuine ~goodbye~ to me.

But I don't wanna say goodbye! I can't believe how much I fell in love with these two characters. Btw I love your avatar!
