STREAMS (for EOP's)

Omgfloofy is well known in the community as the owner of the Falcom fan and newssite Esterior.net (currently on hiatus). She will be streaming the game giving commentary herself as will people tune in to the chat. Furthermore she will be archiving the videos on Youtube for convenience.

Reiahl is a smaller streamer who i discovered searching for Sen no Kiseki III material, he stands out for the amount of detail he puts in translating the game: line per line.

Wow, thank you for the OT!

I plan on grabbing the game directly in Tokyo late next month, so I won't have a lot to discuss here early on.
I hope those of you who already own the game or who will follow the streams will enjoy doing so!

I don't understand the OT title, is it because they come out on same day? Anyway, March next year, still a long time off.

There's apparently an Utawarerumono crossover costume for Altina or something.

I'm not really a fan of centering the OT title for such a major, pivotal game in the series on something so specific, mundane and inconsequential, personally.

Downloading now

Though not sure if I want to get too far until some missables guides are available as these have been getting too long for multiple playthroughs and I want to see everything in one go.

I've been using this site for all the games so far, https://kamikouryaku.net/sennokiseki4/ its still being updated though. Like you said missing any of the various notes sucks, especially as the game likes to give you unique rewards based on progression.

So hyped for this!

I'm importing a physical copy though so it'll be a few days before I can play. :(

So did they take away the whole money making with cooking aspect.

The ingredients all cost a weird amount of money and it seems like it might be to prevent you from doing that? I don't know. Not sure how much the unique version of the first dish sells for though since I haven't gotten the person who's good at it yet

Thanks! I don't know why I picked up the 4th one without finishing the 3rd one and not knowing any Japanese but I did the same with P5 so it can't be that bad lol and no one knows when it will reach our shores.

Is there one for the 3rd game that's in English? I recall Yakuza 0 had a website illustrating all of the side missions even before it was announced for the west.

The auto translate is... unsatisfactory to say the least

I don't think there is. But if it comes to just going through the game you can try to always look out for red and green marks on the minimap/map when walking around as they denote the next story point and green subquest. Sen 3 has stopped being as sneaky as past games with stuff like that the only thing you miss out this way is very few specific handbook character notes and general npc storylines. That leaves just gameplay being a bit of a problem as I don't know if anyone translated all attack names/quartz skills etc.

I can easily find the next objective, but only for the main quests. Most of the sidequests either don't include any waypoints, start the waypoints after doing something that you can't translate or simply are attached to particular people that you can't interpret what they ask of you

Honestly you picked one of the hardest games to try and get through without at least some basic Japanese language.

Looking forward to seeing the Crossbell team, hoping for minimal fanservice. Starting the game on Hard, just like III.

1.

You start with Lloyd!?

2. Music that doesn't break when you enter a battle! Thank you Falcom!

3. It seems like it runs better than Sen III.

For anyone who got to the end of the first day you get out on the field, is this all the AP you can get so far? Feels like I'm missing something...

gKLrPdP.jpg

Nevermind, found the reason why. It's because I lost a couple of characters on the first boss fight with Rose. God damn it, how annoying.

When I saw 'get within x HP within 35 moves' I straight up reset lol

No way that's happening after using CP on the previous fight. Not even sure I can do it with max CP. Max strength up plus Randy's Order and 4 s-crafts doesn't seem like it'll do it

You just gotta knock out the extras early, and that'll give you enough turns to whack away the rest.

You mean this game in particular or the series as a whole? I also picked up IV recently. Is it any better in that respect? I did finish P5 in JAP before it came out here and that was fun.

The series as a whole.
Well I am into Falcom games. Finished Tokyo Xanadu & YSVIII and dabbled in the other Ys games too and LOH, although only Cold Steel 1 & 2 are the ones that I managed to almost finish before losing my saves lol so I wanted to restart them but also play Cold Steel 3 & 4 because it will take forever for them to make it out here.

Feels like Cold steel 2 was released a long time ago. Really hope they announce 3 and 4 soon.
I started Kiseki with Cold Steel PC, then played Sky 1-3 while waiting for the CS2 port... and then as 3 wasn't even released by that time I thought that I'll better wait until 3-4 are announced and replay CS1, then play CS2 and finally go to the new entries.

Impatiently waiting for a story recap and the Quartz info page to be updated so I can play through it like I did Sen 3 earlier this summer. The wait is unbearable. I'm so envious of you all.

So what's the verdict on the game so far? On JP store for some reason the regular edition has a rating of 2.5 stars and the deluxe edition has a rating of 5 stars which doesn't make much sense.

JP scores (amazon.co.jp etc...) never make any sense. Japanese reviews are pretty bad too, wait until some western fan import the game.

Story wise, cool stuff happening, I guess. Battles are as easy as ever, though I'm only playing on hard. Can now do bonding events, and as it turns out, Falcom doesn't have to balls to stick to a single girl. Given that this is the last game of the arc, and how the first bonding event with a heart icon ended, I'm expecting most of the romance-able girls to get some tangible form of response to their confession, so maybe everyone and their favorite waifus will get the kiss they've been waiting for since CS1/2 that was only reserved for Alisa! Disappointing, but hey, that's probably the future of the Kiseki games now. I'd be more than happy to have them prove me wrong since I'm just assuming at this point, but I don't plan on pursuing any of the bonding events with the girls outside like Alisa and Altina, so I don't think I'll ever know. I'm praying Doobie doesn't get put on that train, but I wouldn't be surprised if she does.

And there's no way you can deny Rean having a harem now, since multiple names get explicitly mentioned during the heart bonding event. Another thing, the first set of bonding events are all one-to-one affairs again. Reserving judgment until I get a few more, but not a good look, Fapcom.

That's super discouraging. It's such a shame Falcom decide to go that direction when canonically Alisa is pretty much the only one that it makes sense.

I'm only on the first set of events, so I'm just making cynical assumptions here, so I could be easily wrong by the end of the game. Doubt it, though.

Yep, I don't understand why Falcom needs to take even more inspiration from Persona for their games, Sora no Kiseki worked really well with the fixated romance story. Maybe Japanese players really like to have dating sim elements in their games, but it works against having a good story IMO.

We've seen Falcom explore making their bond system be more 'constrained' and less harem-y in Tokyo Xanadu, so here's hoping future games take it down a notch, even if they intend to continue with the system.

And yeah, it'd be nice for the series to go back to fixed romance. There's a few fixed romance aspects in Sen 4 that I really liked.

It's disappointing to see that Crossbell still has missing sections, though I feel like the entertainment district is new to iv (as in it wasn't in iii). I was expecting them to at least fill in the spaces between visitable areas.

Well, I decided to take a look at Juna's final bonding event, and yeah, Falcom's doubling down on this trash. Guess the waifu pandering is pretty much their way forward now. Can't say I'm all that excited for any games after CS4. I'll likely just indulge in spoilers on release day for games going forward and judge my buying decision based on those. Or just wait for XSEED to localize it; would like to support them at least.

Really makes those days of people shipping Juna and Kurt nostalgic, but turns out she's just another haremette now. I can only imagine the gloating on a specific general thread, lmao.

Just trying to get through the game as fast as I can at this point.

Devil Halton's Trap
Sounds rough. I hope going to Calvard, and ideally to a woman protagonist, rids Falcom of the market obligation to pander this hard. But I fear just as much that they'll concede to their new audience rather than take a risk.

Aside from that, I hope this game delivers on all the running plot points, characters, and lore built up so far.

It's really disappointing that every female character has to be into Rean. Yuuna is a great character otherwise. Or at least, I feel like she behaves more like an acutal human being than the rest of the Sen characters.

And the scene where Muse meets up with the party is supreme bullshit.

So Muse has all of these genius abilities, and is ready to go to war with the empire, has it all set up with cooperation with Remiferia, but is talked out of it because "you're just a 普通な女の子 who wants to bone Rean, aren't you?"

Can you even imagine such a scene with a male character? Lol.

Does Japanese have a word for "sexism" outside of "discrimination/discriminatory?" Or racism for that matter?

As someone who basically picked up Japanese to play the kiseki series, this is really discouraging to read. Also, this feels really strange, because sen 3 was a progress on this front over sen 1 and sen 2 IMO. Maybe they had to rush the game so much that they had no choice but to resort to easier writing means?

At the very least, is the targeted audience there? If anything, the harem and fan service stuff just seems to displease people in this thread.

I'd prefer the next kiseki game to cut down on content, but provide a more focused and balanced experience.

It's depressing to think that if Sora were made today, it would include characters sexually assaulting Estelle for "laughs."

Yes, that's very depressing. I don't understand what's going on with the series.
