Now that it seems pretty clear that we aren't getting the rest of the season (maybe adapted by another team), is it possible for Telltale to at least give a summary of how the season was going to go down? I really hoped to see the end of Clem's story and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Thoughts? Or is it better to just let the story have a cliffhanger?

With a class action lawsuit pending, why would someone open themselves up to liability like that any time soon?

The company could cite irreparable damages immediately.

Considering TT is still taking about finishing it (even if it's just smoke), there's probably some form of non-disclosure

Not in the nearest future, no. Unless someone wants to get sued due to NDA. Unless they indeed get someone to fund, release the game

The owners and/or licensees of the IP have to be okay with releasing the information.
Otherwise someone may get into a legal trouble as explained by Hoeg Law (lawyer).

In this section of the video, he shares legal info with the EZA crew regarding the HL2:EP3's story getting posted online.

Yup violates NDA, many games don't get finished and rarely do you see anyone leaking the ending, etc without permission.

Companies tend to be more laid back if you are sharing certain aspects to get another job but I have seen companies send cease and desist warnings to people in regards to public portfolio content in the past.

It's a big reason why many have password protected sites or docs for job hunting.

It's also not a good look for future employment if you are seen as someone who shares without permission so most people just don't bother and move on.

Don't think so. Probably one of these days an announcement comes, Indicating that the IP has a new owner and they will continue making it.

I'm not asking for a dev to leak info. I'm talking about a company statement or plot summary by the Telltale the company.

I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have one written yet that was subject to change at any point throughout development.

It took 10 years for Half-Life 2 Episode 3 info to come out. Also Telltale is still officially looking "for a way" to finish the game. So you'll have to wait for a while.

I think someone said Ep 4 wasn't written yet, so we'll never know.

But I mean, it's the Walking Dead. You know how it ends.

They probably want to wait and see if Telltale is going to do right by them with this proposed deal their working on to complete the season. If they don't contact people and tell them they've figured out a way to get them their severance then a point by point breakdown of what happens is definitely getting posted to reddit.

Companies rarely do this just because you never know if you will bring back the project or use parts of it in some form. Likely final decisions had not been made officially or approved by all stakeholders which may include ip holders.

It's possible, but Telltale are still trying to finish the story one way or another, so I figure it'll take a while even if every other plan falls through. Unless, of course, one of the hundreds of people that were let away decides to unload everything he knows (anonymously of course).

It actually is seeming more and more likely that the game will be finished, the game was re-uploaded to some stores recently and Telltale did say it was only taken down before "temporarily." Telltale is supposed to give a statement soon.

Nah, Episode 4's script is done and most of the VA for it is done too.

When you consider the above, and that Episode 3 is practically finished, I really don't think us getting the rest of the game is unfeasible.

Telltale's not gonna say anything because they're still blowing smoke up everyone's asses acting like they're gonna find another way to finish it so they won't ask for refunds en masse, and the ex-employees won't tell anyone because Telltale as a company is technically still alive and can absolutely sue them for it.

The claims of "bad optics" don't really hold water - higher-ups of companies that make artistic products typically don't care if you reveal non-security-related details of defunct companies. What's the threat to them? You're gonna reveal how Zardox got to planet Xeeple once they can't make money off of it anymore? Oh no.

I expect we'll hear a lot more story details once Minecraft for Netflix is finished and the company is actually dead.

I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have one written yet that was subject to change at any point throughout development.

This is also a possibility - The Wolf Among Us very obviously had its ending rewritten after a large section of its fanbase guessed the upcoming twist. (It wasn't a hard guess, but an obvious twist is better than a contrived one.)

I hope you're right, Episode 2 was terrific.
Just gotta love Abel.

Pretty clear? They just told us that they are working with multiple potential partners in order to finish the remaining episodes.
