I was at B&N earlier today and noticed there was a First Order Star Destroyer in the 50% clearance bin, making it 80? bucks which i assume is a huge steal. Im not that into Lego beyond some specific things (like Voltron) but figured any of you lusting after a Star Destroyer might want to check your local B&Ns. I know their clearances are extremely YMMV, but worth a shot to save that much $

Barnes and Noble is a pretty good last ditch effort place to look for LEGO stuff, I've sent people their way before. Reminds me of how I managed to snag a few sold out consoles at Sears back in the day because that store is such a ghost town.

Anyway, almost finished Assembly Square. It's my first modular building! I have Parisian Restaurant and the Saturn V ready to be cracked open next. I really REALLY want a Voltron but I'm trying to hold out on a good deal.

Damn, I'd probably get it at that price and I barely even get any Star Wars LEGOs these days.

I need some help. I'm looking to build my own MOC modular building (a bakery theme), what would be a good set to get the bricks to start with? I was thinking of getting another one of the existing sets together with 31077 Modular Sweet Surprises to get started. Any ideas welcome :D

Depends on what color scheme you want, etc.

One of the best parts packs is still Tower Bridge.

Hmm I have an unopened tower bridge but I don't think I have the heart to use it as a parts pack. I guess the problem with using existing modular sets is that it would give me a similar looking facade?

Tower Bridge gives you tons of great things for modulars such as SNOT pieces, tiles, beams, and windows. The set is a true embarrassment of riches for MOC parts.

But all your post is telling me is you should buy a second Tower Bridge. One to build, one to strip for parts.

Ghostbusters HQ is a great parts pack, but pricey

What would be a good set to strip for parts to make modular dungeons for tabletop rpgs ?

Ah. Hmm. There is a decent amount of great in there though. But as for a set with lots of grey for walls and stuff, Ghostbusters HQ mainly comes to mind but would have to check that.
Not sure. Will have to think.
I basically want to do 8x8 and 16x8 pieces that I can put together to make modular dungeons, with some (optional) furniture.

Yea, just design what you envision in the digital designer and then bricklink the parts, probably easier and cheaper than buying sets to pull apart.

Interesting oddity cropped up during the Channel 4 F1 highlights on Sunday in the UK: A TV ad specifically for the Lego Chiron. It was only the brief slot, but I can't think of the last time I saw a TV ad for a specific Lego product (although, of course, I've not watched much TV that would normally have those adverts)

What the...
I wanted to check something from Lego's shop site but the site just goes blank. It loads initially but then it just becomes all white. Chrome, white listed it for all addons like uBlock, deleted existing cookiees.
EDIT Actually, the front page loads fine but any theme page or whatever else doesn't work.

Just me who thinks this is eighteen months too late?

I feel like LEGO reacts to things too late sometimes, and Overwatch is one of them...

Saying that, I am still looking forward to seeing what they have done though!

I'm biased as all hell, but I'm super excited for Overwatch sets! I think this is the most exciting theme in recent memory for me tbh!

OWL is still striving to grow next season, at least. teams in 6 or 7 new cities. blizzard at least hopes to keep groiwng the brand.

maybe 6 or 8 months too late? owl debut season might've been more hype as a simultaneous event than the league expansion.

I liked some of the Infinity War sets but I have the Milano and the shuttle to go with it and am satisfied. There's not much else on the horizon I'm interested in...apart from Overwatch! Honestly Minifig Tracer looks cute as all hell but really I want Minifig Reaper because that emo ball of angst in Minifig form would be the funniest thing.

75251 Darth Vader's Castle revealed!

The set costs $129.00, and is the first ever Amazon-exclusive Lego set (probably replacing the Toys-R-Us exclusive sets?).

I have a soft spot for location license sets, and this one is right up there with the Sanctum Sanctorum for me! It could probably use one or two more figures, though (perhaps Director Krennic, or Vanee, Vader's attended).

Interestingly, the Trooper figure is Athex, from the Secrets of the Empire VR game!

Looks like I might have to get Tower Bridge.
That's the spirit!

From 6 years ago, just after I came out of my dark ages and started buying LEGO again, I made a modular MOC that was mostly parts from Tower Bridge. And Apple Tree House.

But seriously, it is a ridiculous parts pack and worth every single penny.

I have also gotten a lot better at my MOCs since then. I have learned much.

I picked up some Minecraft sets with the deal at Target while I was trying to find that coffeshop set...and of course it went up right after I bought them.

Minecraft stuff is absolutely brilliant in design with Legos. They're perfectly made for each other. It's nice that the sets aren't really all that expensive for some pretty elaborate layouts. I got the Mushroom Island and the Skeleton Attack set. The Coffee Shop should be coming today or tomorrow I think.

I've been thinking about getting some more of the little street vendors; I loved that hot dog cart guy and I think there's one for a Balloon vendor and a Plant guy too, right?

YABADABADOO!

This is the first Ideas submission since the Fisherman's Hut that I was crossing everything to ensure that it was the chosen project for LEGO to build upon and release... and my wish for The Flintstones model has come true!

Oh, and the magnificent looking treehouse is also going to be a part of the Ideas theme too!

I am totally in love with the two IDEAS sets. I'm not a huge Flintstones fan but gosh that set is just so well realized. The treehouse is absolutely incredible and I'll be picking that one up as well.

As for Vader's Castle. I'm actually not the hugest fan of most of the modern Star Wars sets, I love the collectors edition ones but Cloud City and a few of the others don't really seem that interesting to me. But I absolutely love this one. First off, I loved the location when it was shown in Rogue One. Hearing the word "castle" is so wild but it totally fits in with Knights and Sabers, etc. But still CASTLE. Vader's CASTLE. I just love it. The red minifigs (not sure what their official name is) are really cool looking too. This'll probably be my first Star Wars set.

I have a question why lego not list brick per bag number ?
It would be easy for people who download instruction and order brick from bricklink.

Don't know much about Legos but I just saw this on reddit. French Lego builder has $9000 worth of lego pieces stolen from him after someone broke into his house.

Any idea how to help this guy and raise more awareness to this so that Lego would notice?

I was in there to buy funkos and saw a jurassic world mansion/house set on a table for 75% because it had an As-is sticker due to it being a return/taped up
everything was inside, just the instruction bag was opened. hype

It is 35% off here and the only JW set that I didn't buy. The mansion is just s facade (but could be a piece set) and the new Dino is just ugly.
