Ali thread

He's just playing with people.

The rope-a-dope isn't remotely fair. To put it into terms that the OP can understand it's like a Street Fighter 3 parry with a ridiculously generous frame input that could easily combo into a super that uses no meter.

Ali was playing with gameshark codes on and no one could stop him.

While it's great, I prefer the Mikael Granlund one. I'd say it was against tougher competition, bigger pressure and even as few years younger than Legg at the time of the goal, while playing with big boys. Also the prework he did for the goal.

They called it "lacrosse goal" or "ilmaveivi" in Finland. I prefer the Finnish version in the naming too.

The OG Dempsey Roll, used by Jack "Daigo" Dempsey to score his first championship at EVO.

This right here.

Surprised at how long it took for someone to mention it.

OP, you mentioned being a fighting game player. Well, if the fighting games that you play has a boxer character, chances are that this technique is in there. Dudley's Rolling Thunder super for example.

Here's a quick and fantastic breakdown on the technique:

Mike Tyson was known to use this technique to great effect. Here's a short clip of him training it:

And here it is in anime form via Hajime No Ippo:

Rick Rude's "Rude Awaking":

8P1gNT.gif

He's simply ravishing, he's happening, he knows that he's cool - All the girls go crazy, they don't know what to do. He'll steal your girl, break her heart and leave you a fool, he's simply ravishing, dazzling, ravishing Rude. Go through the curtain, stepping right on time - the girls wont admit it, but they know he's fine - got something to say, so listen up close, there he goes, there he goes, taking off his robe. His body's chiselled, abs all in a row - you'd think he was sculpted by Michelangelo. He's bold and he's cocky, he struts like a king, there's no way to stop the Rude Awakening

Wrestling is kinda cheating, but if people are going post it to then I'm going to include this nonsense:

Can't find the team version where he spins around his teammate and transfers onto the opponent.

Also, that Zidane edit reminds me of this old thing.

That hesitation move will forever be a thing of beauty.

The Von Flue choke in UFC.

And five months after the fight in that video, OSP won with the submission again.
