I agree with you on this. The games style, music, combat and writing are right up my alley but the difficulty spikes coupled with the fact that you can pay to come back to life on the spot sour the experience for me. I don't mind paying for f2p games but i don't think I'll ever pay for "lives" like you would in an arcade ever again.

You can pay for you fighter in killcoins, no need to pay real cash. Death is meaningless in this game, they even give you back your loot, you don't lose anything.

Just let them die (get it, it's even in the name of the game) and pay in the freezer with killcoins, continues are worthless unless you are doing boss runs or the 50+ floor runs.

I just got playing Dark Souls: Prepare to Die again. Years ago I didn't have a decent pc that could make the game run above 8fps.

I'm currently fighting against Capra Demon, and I don't remember having so much hard time as I'm having right now.

Just bought a mechanical keyboard.

The key feedback is pretty cool and typing feels good (like old school typewriters) however it's so loud lol.

I'm pretty excited for Thronebreaker next month. First game I'll buy on GOG.

Sounds like you got blue switches. Awesome feeling but loud is usual for them.

The most quiet you can go with a mech is red switches + o-ring mod, but most people don't like how that feels (0 feedback and mushy base). Browns are pretty common too and they are somewhere in the middle, less feedback than blues and quiet if you don't bottom out.

Yeah my blue keys can be heard by my roommate across the apartment and behind closed doors lol.

That's why I got brown switches. My GF would have thrown my keyboard out by now if I had blue switches.

Eh I love alone and wear headphones so I don't care lol. But it can indeed get pretty loud

I did not know that. Curious to see what changes will become soon.

Everyone who works there is curious too. Still major reorganization going on and leadership shuffling.

Neither is the product (Windows Phone) that is responsible for its existence.

This is just the ongoing demise of Windows Mobile. UWP never had much of a case for desktop.

The same person was over windows phone and was promoted hence the strategy going wider. As I said before it's easy to follow MS they have to legally tell the public about high profile departures.

There is no windows org anymore the way there has been in the past.

For people concerned about MS walling in gaming, everyone should know better. MS doesn't care about gaming. If you fall for marketing as my buddy did recently ( oh so much growth, following week he was laid off from gaming) then you are wasting valuable time in your life.

You need some level of dedication to actively destroy something and MS just isn't that focused on gaming. Every time they do something with games outside the typical Xbox ecosystem it has nothing to do with growing gaming. The new direction is largely falling in line with leadership.

Xbox has always had to fight to just stick around, rarely does the business get to make the right decision for itself sadly. Go read what some of the early Xbox founders had to say. So when people note things are not well thought out , well of course the new direction gets dumped on gaming with no additional resources, same timeline, same budget and it's the same with store. The UWP team is extremely small as well and was never expanded given the expanded architectural needs to support huge games. Every internal team forced to make an "app" with that wrapper was understandingly frustrated.

You can get away with opting out of initiatives when leadership churn is happening especially if you are part of a valued business unit driving profit for the organization.

I just want to play Forza Horizon UWP free.
If it ends up on Steam that's a bonus at this point.

Hmmmm...don't see them putting their big first party stuff on steam.
Right now it's only things not developed fully in house and only after they have finished development.

Forza has so many licensing issues they don't even last on Microsoft's platform. I also think they want to use these as hooks for their gamepass service like EA and origin. They just don't have a plan around pc gaming because there literally is no high level stakeholder who cares enough.

They also seem to not want to put games being designed as a service on steam, and first party development seems to be heading that way.

Never say never of course because all it takes is a leadership shuffle and direction can change.

But I think that's where gamepass is nice. Essentially just renting the game for a few bucks and doesn't require you be all in or anything.

Horizon is great but I'm biased because I used to work at t10. No way I would miss out on it as just getting the big franchises to PC was a miracle in itself lol.

Whether it has a wrapper or not the store issues would still be the same as the game organization does not control that. I'm mostly proud of the foundation work others and myself did at t10 just to get Forza in general playable on PC. Gaming doesn't control the wrapper all we could do was file feature requests against that team.

The real growth was internationally as many never would have played a Forza game requiring Xbox. Once that was noted we added more localization options for the game. I remember specifically doing these for China as they had completely different needs in order to launch.

I mean, it is MS. Could have left because it wasn't successful enough and they need time to come up with their newest brainstorm.

lol. I'm assuming you have never worked at a big corporation in the US. At that level it's like game of thrones. Doesn't matter how successful or not successful your initiative is. It's all politics at that level. And just because someone is spearheading an initiative doesn't mean they believe in it at that level either.

Are you sure you get the loot back? I tried doing a corpse run to kill my own hater and paying KC in the freezer to get my corpse back and i felt like i lost all my loot both times.

Yup, the only thing you can lose is your equipment if the death breaks it.

Are you sure you didn't use the free option in the freezer? that even warns you that all your loot will be lost on retrival.

I have a couple of deaths on the 10th floor boss and I just pay and got all back each time.

There is also a special case with the 4 forcemen that you can die and its always free with loot.

"I got the Platinum for this game and hated every second of it".

I can't wrap my head around this shit, especially when it's a huge rpg.
Here I am, struggling to find a window of time, no matter how small, to put into these games that I love, and some people choose to put dozens of hours into games they despise.
To each their own, but it just blows my mind.

Replaying Shadow Hearts Covenant is seriously eating up most of my gaming time, I told myself I'd prioritize the recent games but it's been so long since I last played it and I love it so much.

Im currently half done with Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash, its platinum is not very difficult but extremely time consuming, fuck that.

I might have gotten unlucky with my gear breaking when i died. Wish i'd known that earlier because i just died right outside of an elevator (didn't know you can't activate them while in combat) and i had 6 blueprints on me. I didn't want to risk losing them so i spent a death metal just in case.
Thanks for the confirmation. This makes things a bit easier.

That's one of the reasons I stopped going after Plat's and generally 100%ing games 4 years ago.

If a Plat or 100% is easy enough to do, I'd go for it, but if it is too time consuming despite requiring me to do simple stuff just over and over again, then nah, I'm good.

If I'm not having fun with a game I immediately start to question what I'm doing with my life.
Time is the most precious resource we have.
Of course even the greatest games can have tedious parts and obviously you're not just going drop them because of that, but getting 100% on a rpg while hating every moment? Different strokes and all that...

You do get it back. Only when you use the free option is the loot gone. Honestly deaths are really not a big deal in the game.

It's like QueenOfHunting made a thread about, playing games like a checklist.

Is this for FFXV? Because that game has a super easy achievement list. You get like the majority just playing the game regularly. I beat it in 20 Hours with like 80% of the trophies unlocked.

Brazilian (?) indie fighter gaming coming to Steam early access tomorrow, looks interesting.

They prob. realize the game is niche and price it so they'd get the most from those really into VN and the style of 428. Just my guess :X

It's well worth the price for me, but do get it when it's at an attractive price point for you~

Exactly. 428 is a great game (my GOTY barring any last minute surprise), but it has a very limited appeal unfortunately. They priced the game to maximize the amount they got from the people who have been waiting a long time for it.
