Forza Horizon 4 |OT| Seasoned to Perfection

If any of you keep getting "Cannot connect to Horizon Life" errors, this is what I did to fix it...

1. Click Start , type services.msc in Start search box and hit Enter.
2. Right-click the Peer Networking Grouping service and select Properties .
3. Check if the service is started; if not, right-click and select Start .
4. You may also set the Startup type to Automatic under Properties .
5. Click OK .
and restart the computer.

If that doesn't work, do this:

1. Run command Prompt as administrator
2. Type "netsh" and press enter
3. Type "int teredo" and press enter
4. Type "set state disabled" and press enter
5. Type "int ipv6" and press enter
6. Type "set teredo client" and press enter

I did both steps just to be sure before restarting my pc - it seems to be a Teredo issue.

Btw, reminder to everyone that the auction house is always a good place to get some cars for cheap as well. Got myself the 250LM for 1M (worth 10) and the 599GTO for less than 100K.

All this talk of Performance V Qualitu got me wondering the next big question: What Camera you guys playing in?

Usually in Motorsport, I like being in the car, or Bonnet-Cam using a Wheel before Dash was a thing...

...but I'm starting to dig the Chase Near Cam since I ain't using a Wheel on this game.

How 'bout you guys?

Anything that isn't the floor or bonnet.

The chase cams are a little weird on PC too whem you mess with the FoV - the closer one actually seems further away.

That's exactly me. I can't stand chase cam in FM and would have usually played in cockpit in previous FH as well but the game is so beautiful and playable in chase cam that it's the one I end up using the most by far.

Man it's very surprising to see this issue still alive and well as it was prevalent in Forza Horizon 3. I even have a notepad document saved of the commands for when I wanted to play FH3 online and had to use them.

Can someone with the PC version just check something for me please.

I bought and have been playing the game and as far as I know I'm playing the ultimate edition but in my library in the store it shows that I can 'play' the vanilla game and I can 'install' the ultimate edition.

Nothing major. It's just a license indicating you have the ultimate edition which allows you to play early. Since standard+ultimate addon isn't exactly the same as having the ultimate edition, they need to differentiate a different SKU to make sure it's the early access version you have.

How does patching work in PC. Do they download automatically like system updates or must I go to the Windows store?

poster covered it above really. Generally for games if you buy a season pass or an ultimate edition you buy a package of licences, for a few bits of content, one of these bits of content may well be the base game. So often you end up with three or 4 files to download, the base game, the add on bits of content, AND the package of licences.

I'd guess that's why the base game component says play, because the store knows it's an actual game, whilst it says "install" for the licences in the "ultimate edition".

Out of interest, have you managed to redeem your extra ultimate edition content? Normally i'd have thought you would have to install that extra file/package but maybe it doesn't need you to.

In Destiny for example, when a new expansion came out, all of the content would be in the base game files and executables BUT you'd have to download a separate expansion "file" that was only a few hundred kilobytes and was a key that had to sit on your machine to enable the content. The Xbox often did this invisibly, but sometimes if you moved to a different machine it wouldn't have the key files and you'd have to re-download them from the store.

My game just entered me into my own Forzathon Live!

So I just quit the game as 1 person can't complete the tasks!

And everyone else got to have fun driving with each other and they put me on my own when I was there early lol.

The car packs showed as downloads.
The expansions show as installed.
On the Ultimate edition store page some show as pre-order and installed some not installed. All a bit funky until standard releases haha

Awesome. I have a nice S2 tune on the Audi 2 now and I think it might be the best all around car I own. Destroys on Forzathon Live events as it's great at cross country and on the road. Took a while to find the right tune though.

And damn at your bargains!

I can not express how amazing this game is. It deserves goty imo. Just to put racing games back on the map as legitimate incredible games worthy of goty.

Obviously red dead will probs eclipse this but I'm just blown away

I hardly play racing games, but Forza Horizon. Man.... This is something else.
The last time I played a game for 6 hours straight, was a long time ago.
Definitely GOTY material. PC performance is also stellar.

There's just so much I like about this game and the series as a whole.

I'm a guy who loves to explore worlds checking off boxes, so the Billboards and Road Exploration have always been a great draw for me.

I also loves to just relax and cruise around, which these games have done wonderfully as well, especially since Timeless FM is in so I can just cruise around in my Aston Martin DBS while listening to Posh Music pretending I'm Bond, especially when the Forzathon Live in halfway across the map and I have to floor it.

I also love customising my character, so whole people complain about clothes being in Wheelspins, I don't mind it as much as my Girl can get neat clothes (need more beanies for her though).

Since I got past the Opening Year yesterday, ive barely actually raced, just been exploring and Forzathons as well as doing the Daily and Weekly Challenges. The game has a bit of everything for everyone.


I do feel like Colorado, Italy/France, Australia and Britain, while all varied, have a similar tone to them in parts (except Colorado had a weird Orange Tinge which set it apart as well as being on the 360), so I feel a change next time would be grand!

Of course there is Japan, which would benefit from the Seasonal Change they implemented in this one.

South America could be nice as well as Africa or Russia as well! China maybe?


Also, a city which is larger or even multiple ones! But even if it's on Xbox Scarlet or whatever, I feel they would have to compromise it a tad to keep it running on Base One, maybe?

I started the game at 9am to do 2 Barn Finds...it took me until 11am because another Barn Find came up and Forzathon Live put me in a place where there were unexplored roads to drive!

Am I missing something here, ive won 2 street races and got 3 stars on a speedzone in 2 different retro hot hatches but the current forzathon weekly challenge progress hasn't updated..

You need to complete them in order.

I have found the Forzathon to be temperamental though, I've got a threading the needle skill several times but it still says 1 out of 2 on the Forzathon.
