I never really thought Skull Kid was in so I didn't put much stock in him.
Geno on the other hand I feel has a decent chance. I'm actually more confident on him tbh

I don't really care about Geno personally, I just want to see his supporters vindicated after all this time (it's only fair as a Ridley and K. Rool supporter).
- If he gets in, I get to be happy for his supporters and taste the salt from some people in this thread.
- If he doesn't make it, it won't bother me too much (plus DLC is always an option, assuming he isn't an Assist Trophy or something).
I honestly think neither are making it, slightly more of a chance for geno, but at the same time sakurai talking about him in 2016 hurts his chances.
Do you have to spam this constantly? At least put it behind a spoiler tag or something.
Gens's chances are where they always were. There's actually been no actual evidence that supports Geno getting in beyond fan theories, whereas Skull Kid getting in was due to a perceived leak. Obviously, that didn't pan out and the Isabelle reveal buried it further. Not that he couldn't still be in, but we're back to not having much reason to believe he is, other than him being absent in the moon AT.
I need to think about what it could be first, haha.
I'm surprised no one has jumped on this generous offer yet. It really doesn't take that long to get a picture of Wonder Red.

Pig Ganon is never getting in. I would imagine if Sakurai was gonna add a new Zelda character it would likely be one of the Champions or if we were lucky enough that beautiful bird Kass. Ganon isn't like K. Rool with a huge fan following asking for him to be in the game. A lot of people are satisfied with just having the Dorf, even if they wish he wasn't so similar to Captain Falcon

yea, but he was on Nintendo first, and his moveset is perfect for Smash like most side scroller types

There are already 9 playable Pokemon and literally dozens more as assist characters. Even if there isn't a new playable rep, I think you'll be fine.
That game has Gengar, Scizor, Weavile and Decidueye so it's already better than Smash.

I'm completely fine with this since I don't think the franchise was in need of a newcomer like DK or Metroid were, and by the time DLC rolls around Gen 7 will be old news.
It will happen anyways though because the franchise brings in so much money.
Fire Chicken Man (the better fire starter) can be an echo of Captain Falcon. There's our Pokemon newcomer (that or Igglybuff)

I'm honestly starting to doubt it and I'm a huge fan of Geno and SMRPG. I would have thought he would have been announced alongside all the FF/SquareEnix stuff. I have a feeling he won't be in the base game but will be apart of the initial DLC.
But one of the main reasons people like Smash is that it has interesting characters.
She's the best character in the game by a wide margin but mainly because Smash 4 offers lackluster options and because it's a game where a 90% of the cast contend not for who the better character is, but who the least bad one is.
Any game that sees a top tier being lashed back at for being overpowered (which Bayonetta, Sheik, Rosalina, ZSS, Diddy Kong, Sonic, Cloud and even Luigi have all gone through) isn't a healthy game. Not that many of these characters needed a couple of nerfs, but Smash 4 wasn't that much of a good time when a lot of dominant strategies were met with resistance and derision - primarily because so many characters lacked what was necessary to counteract.
People bought that trash GTAV instead of Kamiya's masterpiece.
Also lowkey Nintendo sabotaged that game's launch by not marketing it and putting it into a busy month.
This would be incredible. The more villains they can get in Ultimate the better.
I mean he was revealed alongside the FF/SE stuff back in Smash 4, as a Mii Fighter Costume.
Though seriously, they haven't really had a good spot to reveal Geno yet. All of the Square Enix content currently revealed for the game is just returning content from Smash 4; nothing new yet. So I don't know how or why he would have been revealed alongside that stuff. If we don't see him in the next Smash Direct, then it's safe to wait for DLC.
OG Diddy felt the worst to me by a long shot. Dthrow upair was just so braindead and half the people I played with just abused the crap out of it.
