But that's not because the general consensus is too positive, (What does this even mean?) or because people aren't critical enough. That's just you not liking what the majority enjoyed. I dislike Bloodborne and Demon's Souls because I find them to be clunky, slow, and drab games, from their movement to their combat, and have friends who have tried out these games hold similar opinions. Not too dissimilar with my opinions of more cinematic games. None of that really means anything, save for others liking what we don't. Unless that also means every game just about at least one person dislikes was in some way not critically examined enough. I guess The Last of Us and Bloodborne must also have a more positive consensus than they deserve as, after all, critics don't have the same issues with the games as I and my friends do
In all honesty, it does look like you have an issue with your opinion being in the minority because it's so far removed from your own
Not anymore than you are raving mad that BotW wasn't reviewed critically enough or that its consensus is too positive. That latter statement more or less tells me that you're bothered by folk liking it more than you do as that doesn't really even make any sense. Like what? Too positive? Where people supposed to like it less or something? If you think its wonderful that most people liked it, than how is that even a valid argument? You assume to know my feelings based on what exactly? I don't have an issue with my opinion being in the minority. You are right about people liking/disliking different things (although you, my friend, are raving mad thinking Bloodborne is clunky and slow) and apparently, a lot of people enjoyed Breath of the Wild. And I think that is wonderful, I really do! Normally I'm not even guided by reviews that much when purchasing games, but we can both agree that BotW had exceptionally good reviews. There are just a handful of games scoring this high overal. To me, the game didn't reflect this. And it was dissapointing. Do I care, and have to prove a point? Nah. It's just something I will never understand.
That being said, I'm very happy the game is doing well. Because that means it just might evolve into something that changes or improves in the sequel.

Now that's something you and I can both agree on
Oh boy, do I wish I had psychic abilities :PMaybe we're both mad! But I do think you should re-evaluate your psychic abilities, because i'm not bothered by anything. Just stating how I feel about things.

No, I get that much. I just feel that your points come across as someone who's bitter that the game is as well received as it is. I don't think there's any issue with not liking it as much as most folk or critics did. I just take issue with the idea that critics seemingly were light on this game, as its been quite sometime since a Zelda or even a Nintendo game has won the majority of GotY awards. It just comes across as odd to me
Well I appreciate that. It's just certain points made me raise my eyebrows
I don't think I could ever give it a 10 due to the extent of the jank and that the camera COULD have been improved, but there's no way it's any less than an 8God Hand is a 10/10 game that got generally overlooked/underrated, which IMO isn't quite the same thing as a game you know is really flawed but but that happens to appeal specifcally to you anyway.
Resonance of Fate was rated a 7/10 game but it's a 11/10 game for me. The very best JRPG of the previous generation and there is no contest for me.
I'm curious about this one, by your description it reminds me of Marble Madness for the Gameboy.Kororinpa is among the best games of the XB360/PS3/Wii generation.
It's a rolling ball game with good motion controls, simple and charmy presentation and excellent music that hark back to the glorious japanese gaming scene of the '90s.
I think its depth is partly misunderstood due to the fact that the real goal of the game is beating the best times on each track (gold cup) but it's entirely optional.
PS3 digital store should still have it.I really should play God Hand... Heard nothing but good things.
Easiest option to play it?
The first ones that came up into my mind were first Shadow Hearts and the Tenchu series as a whole, but there are plenty of others, mostly from the PS2 generation which in my opinion was the paradise for amazing ''7/10 games''.
Off the top of my head, here are some gems that scored in the 70s:
Godhand (PS2)
Nier Gestalt (PS3/360)
Yakuza 2 (PS2)
Obscure (PS2 / PC)
Echo Night Beyond (PS2)
Haunting Ground (PS2)
Call Of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth (PC)
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (Wii/PS2)
Above all of those I'd recommend Killer7, one of the greatest games I've ever played.
Even though it released on Gamecube, the art-style has allowed to hardly age a day. The gameplay is tight, Shinji Mikami apparently assisted Suda in the that department for Killer7 and it shows, it's easily the best of Suda's action titles. Furthermore the Suda style seems better utilised in this game than any that has since followed it.
Don't be put off by the comments describing it as a "rail shooter", the combat is more engaging than it might appear. The exploration aspects of the game carry much of the appeal of an adventure game as well.
If the PC port handled well, definitely consider picking it up this fall.
I sold a copy of Haunting Ground for $10. Only to then see a copy a year later. For a $110.
