Flake mentioned an FBI investigation limited in scope to only these allegations (I'm assuming only the Ford ones).

Exactly, if one of them say they want an FBI investigation before voting, we're getting an FBI investigation. Given how reasonable this appears to anyone who isn't a Republican senator, I'd imagine it's a good position for at least one of them to take. But if it's just Flake then yes, they can just vote on Tuesday w/out him and have Pence break the tie.
I cannot imagine either Collins or Murkowski joining Flake here, it just makes too much sense to wait one week to get an investigation done.
He can go that route, but only if he has the votes. If Collins and Murkowski join Flake's position, the turtle either has to play ball or try to figure out a way to flip one of them. Kavanaugh can't be confirmed without at least one of those three senators voting for him.
Then he risks the nomination getting rejected
Now of course when push comes to Flake if McConnell calls Flake's bluff Flake could flake again and vote yes... time will tell

That was some slimeball shit that just happened. Flake misleading democrats with his commitment to an FBI investigation, then Grassley rushing the vote and calling an end to the committee. Fuck Flake. If he wanted an FBI investigation, then he should've voted no in the committee.
And if there is no investigation, you would pray to god hope he doesn't flipflop, Flake would vote no. Correct?
