Oh my God. I'm on Mona Lisa now, but every track has been fire. I seriously wasn't expecting this. Wayne has turned me into a believer again.

Just hit "What About Me" while typing this. Jeez, this needs to be a single.

I dont see the hate for Dont Cry. I really dig it. Especially after that emotional intro. It was perfect.

Recently listened to all the albums starting with Carter II, I should still check the albums before that. Really digged II, III had dope stuff on it too, IV is where it started to go downhill for me. Not to mention those IANAHB albums.

But V is surprisingly good. I am glad there are plenty of tracks where he doesn't use autotune, where the beat is dope, great flow and lyrics and interesting subjects too. And some tracks that do have autotune manage to not annoy the shit out of me. Sounds to me like he's controlling the autotune better than before now. That being said I just wish he'd quit it because to me autotune doesn't add a damn thing.

Yeah I see so many praise from many people about Carter III but I just don't see it. Yep it has a few dope tracks but where II is mostly dope III really isn't as consistent. But it's good to see that this latest one after such a long time too is actually not bad at all.

I'm shocked at the good buzz here. Wow. Figured he didn't have it in him anymore.

open letter is so good

wayne's my favorite rapper. haven't listened to the whole thing yet but i've always wished he'd kept his original c5 album from 2013/14 locked up somewhere until it's release. judging by the features that didn't hold true but it does feel like some tracks are from that "og" version

edit: dope niggaz holy fucj

My girl last night: "You gonna download the new Wayne or Kanye?"

Me: "I couldn't give less of a shit about new Ye or Weezy in the year of our Lord 2018."

That said, I'll probably eventually get around to Carter V, but man, am I not looking forward to it.

High above the ground but I'm under her charisma. Her sound is in surround when I'm in her solar system. The quiet calms my quasars, the eclipses eclipsin'. My astronaut helmet kind shifted full of lipstick planet of the aches, and she is my prescription we out of the world baby we have been evicted.

Whew!!!

so glad this isn't autotune wayne.

Well to be fair there still is enough autotune, just not nearly as annoying as it could be. Wish he would just not use it at all, because it's SO much better when the autotune is just not present. I don't get what he sees in autotune.

By the way, did he rap about his accident or more like apparent suicide attempt in a track? He apparently was supposed to go into detail about that.

I'll give the full album a stream today when my day slows down.

Right now though, the Sway in the Morning crew is giving their reviews.

Album's good so far, about halfway through, but jesus christ it's way too long. 23 songs and nearly 90 minutes... Learn to edit and pare shit down

The Sway crew just played:

Mona Lisa: Song was great. K.Dot's verse was fantastic.

The XXX collab: um.....I don't think I can ever take a rap "fan" serious if they enjoy X's music. Musically, the guy is garbage. Never heard a song of his that I wanted to listen to again.

Because I can. It wasn't off topic.

If you have a problem with that, tough.
Thanks for contributing nothing, get back to us when you give it a listen.

Just finished my first playthrough...there is def some extra filler in there but man there are some fire tracks. Can't wait to keep bumping this

Mnah.

An old Wayne fan being hesitant to listen to his new shit because he's been lackluster for awhile is an ok take. Don't be a weirdo.

Kendrick's verse was amazing up until the cornball last chunk. His ear for music and production is on another level. I just wish he wasn't so cheesy

Open Safe's west coast vibes, whew! Mona Lisa is pretty dope, took me two listens to pick up the story in its entirety.

Started off badly with XXXten's track but holy it just picked up like nothing right after that. There's a couple songs I won't be re-listening to but this was damn worth the wait. Loving Weezy's wordplay in a lot of tracks, and also lol at that use of 'like' 20x in a single track, loved it. There's definitely a couple songs that can easily make it as club bangers too(open safe, uproar). Wasn't really digging uproar but I can see it easily easily doing well in clubs.
