Mostly not, no. Because often enough it's just a power fantasy, take RE4 for example, the game has pretty much the perfect skill progression throughout the game, and then New Game+ just has you rushing through your game with all upgraded, powerful weapons and a fully upgraded health bar, basically no effort. Especially as you can't switch to a higher difficulty. Other games take this into account, like Bayonetta and DMC1, where New Game+ switches to the now unlocked Hard mode and as far as enemy encounters go, the games basically continue where the Normal run ended, throwing end-game enemies right at you from the very start, so you kinda need all your previous weapons and skills until you really mastered the game. There are also a lot of skills and equipment you won't unlock during your first run that flat-out change how you play the game.

And then there's Dead Rising, which is completly designed around multiple playthroughs with stat progression and it's flat out not a very fun experience during your first run without speed upgrades and some useful melee moves.

If I loved the game and want to restart and wreck shit with my endgame equipment, then hell yes!

But yeah, usually I don't touch it.
Dragon's Dogma always though, NG+ is where it gets super fun.

Edit: Apparently I missed some small stuff in Persona 5's NG+? But I was finished with that game after the one playthrough.

I don't see a point to it, i already know the story, higher difficulty? Don't care. The only game i did NG+ was FFCC the Crystal Bearers, because they adjusted the cutscenes to show more because they knew you already knew the twists, so heres more villain stuff.

I do like the idea of it, but only if they keep all side content and collections intact.

Meaning not just keeping upgrades and wiping the entire game clean to restart, but having the game acknowledge that I've already completed certain sidequests and only offering the ones I have yet to touch. Take FFXV: I've yet to tackle all dungeons and side stuff, but I'd hate to NG+ despite wanting to replay the story if it meant resetting everything. But maybe I have this wrong?

Also, sometimes I don't want a forced higher difficulty. I just want to obliterate with OP gear.

Never cared for it, only like it in the Ratchet and Clank games because of how its weapons system is designed. Works in Chrono Trigger because of the endings, maybe Bloodborne as well because of a collectible you need for a new boss fight.

Doesnt work in any other games for me, not even the Souls games. I explored and discovered everything now do it...again? Theres no wonder or mystery after the 1st playthrough. Its super weird in God of War where the gameplay doesnt work against enemies that can facetank 2000 hits, have no idea why people wanted that. Or even in Horizon Zero Dawn, a big open world now go reveal all the towers again?? Idk, I feel like people ask for it just to have it. Who wants to go and collect all 200 tree branches and reveal 100 locations again?

I love it for action games because I get to mess around with fully upgraded characters

I'll start it, but usually won't get very far before moving on to another game.

I've spent a lot of time in NG+ for The Surge though. Mostly because of DLC I recently bought and alternate boss drops.

OP, you might like Rogue Legacy.
I actually really do! And I do tend to get on well with similar rogue-ish games, Dead Cells being one of my all time favorites. Each run definitely feels great, but I know I will eventually hit that wall where the incentive to keep plugging ends though. Really liked how Into the Breach did it, a lot of ways to do challenges and in game achievements, each island has similar feelings but they mix up the objectives and where the maps are laid out, so yeah it does work for me.

Ya gotta make your NG+ worth it for me to play it. I loved doing NG+ in Ratchet and Clank games cuz you'd unlock new versions of your weapons to upgrade and you'd unlock a multiplier for the currency u earned that increased as u killed stuff without getting hit. I much prefer that to just being able to start with all your upgrades and enemies have more health.

Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter has one of the best implementations of NG+ I've seen. When you beat the game, you get a rank which you can carry over to NG+. Certain areas can only be unlocked if your rank is high enough & there are also some new cutscenes that only trigger if certain conditions are met. Also, the game is short enough for an RPG that replaying it is a reasonable request.

Does the Way of the Samurai series count? The whole thing is about playing it multiple times.

I don't hate it but I immediately lose interest in a single-player game after beating the story. I usually finish up the last remaining side-quests/content and never touch the game again. My last exception was Dishonored 2 since Emily had a completely different power set.
Yeah, same. It's very rare I touch New Game+, but Dishonored 2 sure is great.

Sometimes when a new difficulty or extended game content is offered I go in for the NG+. Most of the time it's an opportunity to see how godly you can level a character.
I have to say though, I really enjoyed the NG+ on several games, Chrono Trigger, Witcher 3, Horizon Zero Dawn (one of my favorites), Resident Evil 4 (my favorite NG+ of all time, went through MANY times to the NG++++), and Transistor.

Now that I think about it, I've had some amazing NG+ experiences.

I loved New Game+ in The Last of Us. I replay it every year so it is nice just to have everything upgraded from the start. God of War will be nice when the sequel is about to release so I can just enjoy the narrative again. Spider-Man is the same as well.

Only time I used it was in Borderlands 2 (twice). That was mostly b/c I had friends that were doing multiple runs.
Other than that, nah. I'd rather play a new game. I'm never at a shortage of new games to play; I'm probably younger than the average Era user, so old games before my time+ new games keep me more than preoccupied.

There has to be some new content in NG+ for me to play it. I don't want to just play the same thing over again with the same equipment and stats.

I have so little time to game that by the time I'm done one two more have come out I want to try so no, the vast majority of the time no new game plus. I'll trade the game in towards my next purchase at that point.

Some games like Sonic 3/Mania or Dark Souls I do cause I feel like it's fun to have stuff carry over, but for the most part I don't cause I don't wanna feel overpowered. The only one that I don't care about being OP would be Sonic with all the Chaos Emeralds. I do love me some Super Sonic gameplay.

2017 was the year of Man God doing NG+ with Breath of the Wild (haven't finished it yet) and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (done it twice so far) and I haven't done a NG+ since...my last 100% of Chrono Cross when I was in high school? 15 years at least, probably 16.

Depend on the games...

i only did for the Soulsborne games (due to necessity for platinum), GoW4 (due to better runes and the combat is so god) and Chrono Trigger (Multiple endings)

Never have played a NG+. I rarely have time to finish a game the first time.

Fully depends on the length of a game and how much I like it. There are so many great games and not enough time to play everything I like so NG+ is something I do very rarely

There just to many games. I played through spider-man and loved it. Started TR and I accidentally pre ordered assassin's creed which comes in just a few weeks. I have also preorder rdr2 (not by accident). I really like spider-man but wont get into ng+ on that or TR.

Almost never play NG+. I barely finish games as it is, I'd rather not waste time replaying a game.

I don't do it because I have a huge backlog I'm flying through. No time for playing a game twice. Gotta set priorities.

I think that NG+ is a very good idea as I see some people that love it.
Never did one myself though (except if you consider the different runs of Curse of the Moon as NG+)

Usually not. I replay games sometimes but I'll usually just redo it normally. Stuff like Nier Automata where NG+ is basically "beating" the game for real are obvious exceptions.

Except NG+ is not harder, at all. You have all your equipment and levels, it's a lot easier than a fresh game.
You obviously didn't get very far.

4 Kings and Manus on NG+(+++) are really a huge pain in the ass, as are others like Kalameet and S&O. Dark Souls 2, for all it's mega faults, even adds new mobs and changes some boss fights in NG+.
