I really don't understand posting on a thread specifically ABOUT the Switch version and shitting on the console or what you perceive as its limitations. Maybe it is just me. but how in any way does it affect you if these people don't have a problem with it?
Not buying since I already have it but waiting for crossplay now that Sony got his head out of his ass.
Geeze, did I hit a nerve?
I was specifically talking about people that are double dipping. Which is what I said.
Because if you're only buying it on Switch, you can play with a stick or Pro Controller.
But if you're double dipping, that means you're playing it on the go because that's what the Switch offers over the platform you already bought it for. If that's the case, then they're playing with the JoyCon, which is terrible for fighting games. If you're just playing casually, who cares? But if you're double dipping, that means you're serious enough about the game that playing on JoyCon would be very frustrating.
Unless people are bringing their sticks to a hotel with their Switch or something on trips, I simply do not understand double dipping on this.
Not going to happen. That requires a lot of extra work on arcsys's end. Not even NRS does crossplay because of how much more overhead there is. Correct me if I'm wrong, Capcom with SFV is the only fighting game to ever allow crossplay.
Well, personally, I have a joycon with a D-Pad modded on to it, so I'm fine on that front. Kind of a hard sell for double dippers otherwise though, yeah.Geeze, did I hit a nerve?

I'm not sure if it's really that it takes much more work considering most cross-play titles in existence right now are indie games. I think Japanese devs just aren't really clued in on the idea.

Not a nerve. It's an obnoxious question though. I don't understand anyone who would want to spend $100 on a joystick but it's that it brings joy to the people who find enjoyment in it... so I avoid pontificating about something it would be dumb to pontificate about.
You have to build your own backend to handle all the match making etc and not offload it to PSN/Steam etc, that's not a trivial thing to add. Indie games might have it easier since they don't have to have rigorous matchmaking conditions.
No thank you, I don't want to play against wifi warriors. I'll be playing Fighterz online on Switch almost exclusively with friends, I'm fine with cross play with Switch in pretty much every genre but fighting games. Not buying since I already have it but waiting for crossplay now that Sony got his head out of his ass.
So is there not a standalone FighterZ pass for the Switch or with I have to either buy each character individually or the FighterZ edition of the game?
No it isnt lol. Sounds like you what you don't understand is that you have an opinionI don't really understand double-dipping on this.
The only reason to have this on the Switch if you already own it on a different platform is the portability. Yet playing fighting games with the Joy-Cons is terrible.

No, what I mean is, can I buy the base game now and then purchase the FighterZ pass separately at a later date? There is a Fighterz pass and it's $35. Base game is $60 and Fighterz edition (base + pass) is $95, i think.
That's only because the game hasn't released yet. You can definitely purchase the dlc without buying the bundle lol. It would be very weird for them to limit something like that to a bundle. No, what I mean is, can I buy the base game now and then purchase the FighterZ pass separately at a later date?
I'm not seeing the listing for the pass separately. Only with the bundles.
You can buy the FighterZ Pass separately. It'll likely be put on the eShop tomorrow. So is there not a standalone FighterZ pass for the Switch or with I have to either buy each character individually or the FighterZ edition of the game?

I have a weird feeling about the port and whether or not it will be good.
How was the beta?

Nothing to worry about.... nothing!I have a weird feeling about the port and whether or not it will be good.

There were a few framerate drops in the beta, so keep that in mind.I have a weird feeling about the port and whether or not it will be good.

I played PS4 version casually and my button mashing friends detroyed me because I was trying to defend myself. Is it possible to play with a defensive style in this game?
I remember spotting some really weird, random hitching occasionally. Might've been framepacing issues. Hopefully that's been ironed out.I have a weird feeling about the port and whether or not it will be good.

Thanks for the reply. I think im gonna buy it anyway. Its good fun even If I lose more than I win lolDefensive options pretty much don't exist in this game. If you're not on the offensive you're in a bad position, and you're going to have to be really good to successfully defend against a good offense.

Since people have been asking how's performance in handheld/undocked mode, I grabbed some handheld footage:
My game shipped and I still haven't gotten the Super Butoden code... anyone get theirs from any site yet?
This. BBTAG is a much better choice if looking for an Arc tag fighter with proper defensive options, though matches also go by much faster in that as a result of the higher damage and being 2v2.Defensive options pretty much don't exist in this game. If you're not on the offensive you're in a bad position, and you're going to have to be really good to successfully defend against a good offense.
The M autocombo always ends with a Lv. 1 super even if you have enough meter for a Lv. 3.Very basic dumb question: if I do a super and have enough meter will it automatically do a level 3 instead of a level 1?
