Based on the comparison footage I'm putting together now, there is a bit of difference. Seems to be a mix of resolution and lighting enhancement.

Hopefully all this hard work would transfer positively to new doom on switch. That would be my first day 1 aaa 3rd party game on switch.

I just tried it. Seems sharper and smoother overall. It already ran pretty good for 95% of the game. I'd be really curious to see an unlocked framerate version of the game.

From what I've played, the high points are the same as before, but the low points are much improved. For instance, the outside portions of Venus were extremely blurry and there were framerate problems all the time, and you had the resolution vary a lot from looking at one place and looking at another, now the variance in resolution is substantially smaller.
Can't wait to reach the final battle, because that one had framerate issues and maybe they are solved now. Same with the New Orleans extra levels.

We reported all of this in great detail in the OT.

Shame the OP couldn't be bothered to add any actual information or patch notes.

I forced my game into 720p resolution while docked through an mCable, and it really does seem sharper, but not native res obviously
I see some graphical glitches though in the open area where shadows are disappearing and reappearing at random

I had to redo my comparison because I think I mixed up the labeling at the start. Was seeing some instances the pre-patch footage looked better than post-patch. Rather redo it and be safe than publish it and it be inaccurate.

That wouldn't surprise me... about in some instances older footage looking better, they had to sacrifice somewhere to improve other things...

Damn still not available here. Are Patches rolling out slowly?

are you:
a) sure it didn't update already
b) sure the game is not off the home menu screen in the "all software" menu and thus does not auto update
c) not able to update manually?

The update is version 1.2 and is out everywhere.

I know all that but when I manually update it says the game has no Update available.

The biggest changes in resolution I've seen are docked. There, they are quite substantial and it looks better in stills all the time. Undocked in most cases it looks a bit sharper, but above all what's fixed is the framerate. New Orleans ran at a constant 20 FPS, and now it drops frames occasionally but stays at a quite solid 30. Even with explosions and giant robots and shit, it drops a few frames but that's it.
So for undocked mode, what you (or Dark1x) should look into is the framerate.

what if the patch was stuck behind the Nintendo Online paywall and you just haven't subbed? :O

This is just for demonstrative sake (so I don't want people to read into it) but this was what I was seeing:

maybe that has happened because they've decided to prioritize a stable frame rate?
The GPU side of things in the game is visibly more optimized, compared to 1.1 it always runs at a higher resolution when docked, sometimes dramatically so, and improving framerates too. When undocked it still looks blurry, but the framerate is very solid now, and it looks at least as sharp or sharper than it did before. Essentially, if fighting a Kampfhund and a bunch of soldiers in New Orleans used to be a 360p/432p 20 FPS experience undocked, now it is a 360p/432p 30FPS experience. That's a 50% improvement, it's massive.
About the potentially mislabeled images, this is version 1.0 NateDrake is comparing to, so maybe it's not apples to apples. Maybe version 1.0 has a higher resolution/framerate bias than 1.1. If so, version 1.0 should run at a terrible framerate but at high resolutions. That is, unless they are mislabeled. Haven't seen that particular sight in the game yet.
Edit: Just went in and took a screenshot. This is post-patch, undocked.

I'm from germany an and have an eshop-Version and I cannot download the patch, too.

Maybe it's because the german version is treated special (no swastikas and so on).

Your screenshot there corresponds to NateDrake's left post-patch shot... it probably is using a depth of field thing as well

But did Austria get the butchered German version, too? They always get the general EU versions so that would surprise me. The German SKU is of course its own thing so that one not having gotten patched yet is not hard to believe (though it is odd that they would not do it all at once). Just one more reason to simply import from literally anywhere else, like I did (also from Germany but would never touch the German version with a ten foot pole).

I wish I had 1.1 Wolf 2 to use as the base and not 1.0 since we don't know what 1.1 introduced in terms of changes considering it's an 8GB installation. That screen posted suggests I didn't mislabel my footage, however.

As I'm still on 1.1 I could make some screenshots.
Unfortunately only in portable mode, as i'm on vacation.
Just tell me where I can find that scene

That scene is New York: Docks. Maybe the still shots don't tell everything, in 1.1 to 1.2 the biggest change is framerate rather than resolution.
Also, it looks like NateDrake's shot on the right is missing temporal AA?
