Apple Store has exact Series 4 in stock that I ordered at preorder day and my order isn't coming in for a while. I'm about to just buy this in store and cancel my order.
I once almost missed making new personal best on a run, because it took the watch almost 10 seconds to recognize me tapping the "PAUSE" button. Laggy UI in combination with the fact that you can't change a workout after the fact (changing time / distance to the actual, official net race time and distance) is a huge pain in the butt.
yup. Will probably not run today (been a rough week at the gym). Will either 5K next Wednesday, or skip the gym a day early next week to test out 5K. HAVE TO do it at work because I've done enough runs that I know around where my series 0 will notify me of 1.55mi (halfway) and where it will notify me of complete. Want to see how the series 4 compares.Yup, at the 1k mark, i was at 900m. At the 2k, i was at 1,900, at 5k i was at 4,900 and so on ... sucks, because my HM isn't a proper HM now, but rather "just" a 21km run :D
My watch is bound to arrive on Friday. Can't wait.
My green leather case should be arriving tomorrow. Similarly eager to replace that $10 flimsy plastic garbage case i'm currently using.
being that I workout 5-6 times a week.... I literally feel your frustration.Yeah, I've had times where it's taken 30 seconds for the Workout app just to open.
Totally. My series 0 lasted for 3.5 years. no complaints at all. But going to the series 4 is almost like going to a completely different watch/brand/company/etc. aside from the same look of the UI.

Totally.
The only bummer is the fact that i can't - with good conscience - give the watch to someone else (like, i don't know ... my mom, i guess) because battery life, as well as the entire user experience is just so sub par. So, realistically, it's pretty much bound to go in the drawer.
Unlike a 3 year old iPhone, that you can easily resell / give away and it's still a very much functional device.
well, it is, but the battery litterally doesn't last a whole day anymore.
not sure what you mean by number 2.Yep. My only annoyances so far:
- The "black" sport band isn't actually black (Anyone want to buy a brand new 44mm one?) I stayed with my knockoff band lol
- No "Raise to wake" setting to always show watch face
- Some 3rd-party complications can't be used on the new faces yet
- I can't find a bumper so I'm still using my 42mm Modal one
I sold mine for $25. I told him he's going to need a battery.. so it's $105 total ($80 for the battery). Not 100% sure on the value there. a series 2 still goes for like $200.. so I guess.. if you really want to save $100 right now (it's also a stainless steel), it can perform ok (though not great) as a fitness tracker. and notifications (my other main use, along with timer).. but yeah, it's DEFINITELY a gen 1 apple product. right up there with iPhone and iPad first gens. revolutionary, but gen 2 was such leaps and bounds past it.I was going to give my s0 to my brother but I may just buy him a series 3 for xmas and keep the old one as my backup
Totally.

Is Apple not offering any recycle value? I got $115 for my series 2.Totally.

i have no idea. There never was a need to figure all that stuff out, because usually, Apple devices are the perfect hand-me-downs ... but i'd rather strip the AppleWatch for it's accessories (watch band, charger) this time around. Is Apple not offering any recycle value? I got $115 for my series 2.

I need that too. I assume Apple isn't letting them put one on here. I have no idea though.

Spotify bought an Apple Watch app someone was making years ago and killed it. They could have made one whenever, and now they could make one and have songs downloaded to it
Haha, wow. That blows! Do we know if the new Siri APIs means we could get real, actual Siri integration from Spotify, or are we limited to, like, Shortcuts?
I have a Apple Series 3 and just got Series 4. How do I transfer everything from my Series 3 to Series 4 and to make sure all my activity data carries over?
And I plan on giving the Series 3 to my mom. Do I just wipe it clean after and then sync it to her and her iPhone?
I am very excited!
Saw this post on the top of a new page and feared you were talking about the 4, but relieved it was for the 0 haha. Same as me, pretty much don't use any apps on it thanks to the lag and load time.I once almost missed making new personal best on a run, because it took the watch almost 10 seconds to recognize me tapping the "PAUSE" button. Laggy UI in combination with the fact that you can't change a workout after the fact (changing time / distance to the actual, official net race time and distance) is a huge pain in the butt.

Are you keeping the same phone as you used with your S3? And do you have a cellular plan attached?
Go to the Apple Watch app. Click on the option at the top that shows your watch. Click the "i" info button at the right. Select "Unpair Apple Watch." It will take a few minutes and it backs up your old watch to your phone. When that's done, power up your new watch, and pair it with your phone. It'll ask you if you want to restore from the backup of your old watch that it just did when it un-paired. Do that. All your activity data will carry over. Done!
When you un-pair your old watch it will be ready to pair with a new phone so you can give it to someone else and none of your data will be on it.

Except when it glitches during the restore, costing you your 300 day move streak, with every level of Apple support unable to help.If you have health set to sync to iCloud that covers 99% of your watch data anyway.
I upgraded from the S2, and the S4 is very fast. For me it's most noticeable when raising to wake and look at texts (they pop up right away instead of having a small delay), switching watch faces, and especially when dismissing notifications w/a force press on the screen. Really any time I felt my S2 was lagging is gone on the S4. It's incredibly snappy.
Very. Apps that open in 10+ seconds on the Series 2 open instantly on the Series 4.

:(
If your phone dies on the way to breakfast through no fault of your own (it cooked itself to death, was scary) you don't always get the choice. I've only had the watch since S3.I plan on migrating only after earning the move goal for the day, only way to be sure to have time to revert back to the old watch if something terrible goes wrong.
523 days and counting here.
My dad got the 44mm S4 this week and he's already accidentally dialed 911 like 4 times because the "hold side button to call" is turned on by default (?) and the button is pretty sensitive. I know he's a clumsy baby boomer and all but that's a really stupid feature to have activated out of the box. Apple goes overboard with the H E A L T H Y L I F E S T Y L E stuff sometimes.
In other news, Brightstar finally approved my S3 trade in ($225) and I sold my other 38mm bands on ebay so will be getting a 40mm S4 once the gift card hits.
Yeah, i have no idea how he can accidentally hold the button for 10 seconds without letting go.Okay I gotta ask... how? The button is flush against the side, it's not even that easy to push. If I bend my wrist all the way back it doesn't even come close to pushing that button.
