The void
Has anyone seen Life Itself and liked it? I know it has been torn to shreds in reviews but I'm still somewhat interested in seeing it. I know its supposed to be super melodramatic and sad.

Yeah I rented it tonight not expecting all that much. I thought the last Jurassic World was ok, not great besides the 3rd act. Would probably give that one a C+

But yeah I watched Fallen Kingdom tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. There is actually some really nice shots / cinematography in it. The characters are still shallow and the plot isnt exactly anything to write home about but I found the overall action set pieces and dino stuff a good time.

A solid B in my book and I'm actually looking forward to the 3rd one quite a bit now.
Tell me about it.

I was the one defending this movie and praising it in this thread. I also said it will do well and have solid legs, which it did. Meanwhile, most others wanted it to fail or painted it as a bomb because it didn't make as much as the first World.

My daughter and I loved it! I put off renting it for so long because of the reviews and I was worried it would be too dark/violent. Nope, it was a darker but still fun adventure movie.

My daughter turning to me and going "nom nom nom nom" after the T rex ate somebody will always be a cherished memory.

There were things I definitely liked about it, but I was super bummed that such a talented director and crew were brought down by such a terrible script. I'm also extremely disappointed that Trevorrow is directing 3.

They should get some new writers and just let Bayona head the franchise from here

Eastwood's The Mule opens December 14.

Warner Bros. is giving a Dec. 14 wide release to Clint Eastwood's latest movie The Mule, which he not only directed, but stars in.

As is standard for Eastwood, the four-time Oscar winning filmmaker finished the film early: Production wrapped in early July and a cut was recently shown to Warner Bros. brass over the weekend which wowed them.

In The Mule, Eastwood stars as Earl Stone (Eastwood), a man in his 80s who is broke, alone, and facing foreclosure of his business when he is offered a job that simply requires him to drive. Easy enough, but, unbeknownst to Earl, he's just signed on as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel. He does well—so well, in fact, that his cargo increases exponentially, and Earl is assigned a handler. But he isn't the only one keeping tabs on Earl; the mysterious new drug mule has also hit the radar of hard-charging DEA agent Colin Bates (Bradley Cooper).

While many will be quick to label The Mule as immediate awards season bait, especially given Eastwood's track record, we hear that The Mule is more in line with the legendary filmmaker's commercial vehicle Gran Torino which debuted limited on Dec. 12, 2008 and expanded over Christmas gradually swelling to an enormous $148M stateside, his highest grossing title as an actor, and second-highest as a director.

December just got even busier.
