If they can fix graphics and performance on that version, a .1 upgrade is too small... that deserves a 2.0

I just booted a New Orleans scene, and now it doesn't drop frames in portable mode... Could this be an actually big update? The game had some scenes that ran amazing and others that ran like shit, this is one of the latter and now it looks better? Guess it's time to put DF on this.

Was the port any good? I'm curious about the game, liked the new order but never gotten around to getting this on Xbox one or ps4. Loved doom on switch.

I've been trying to work my way finishing Wolfenstein II but the blurry graphics do give me a headache sometimes, hopefully this will help

Pssh. A real hero would format their Switch to get the undocked footage, then restore the cloud saves.

Jk, that's not worth the effort.

Pretty sure you can't do that, anyway. Wasn't there a mild controversy over the fact that once a game's been updated on a Switch, you can't ever roll it back?

EDIT: Oh right, you have to basically do a factory reset.

I think if I did that the game wouldn't get the Day 1 8GB patch. Not sure what that initial patch introduced/addressed.

Edit: Let's give it a try. I don't have anything on system that can't be recovered.

Are you serious, lmao

You're correct though; updates are downloaded together. Unless you know someone who just has the day one patch you can't get 1.1.

Also please be sure to download cloud saves before you launch any apps (other than Wolfenstein) because I'm not entirely sure how robust Nintendo's system is.

This Switch is only used for capture footage, so nothing of importance will be lost. Cloud saves can be restored and I can DL the stuff I need to capture still.

Curious to see how this turns out. I sold my copy almost immediately after finishing the the majority of the extra missions partially because the game didn't perform a well as I'd liked. I didn't enjoy it anywhere near as much as i did Doom either.

Can we replay missions now?

Docked is seemed pretty solid in earlier levels. Looks pretty good and runs well. DF showed that later levels drop resolution pretty low for the big screen though.

Undocked (how I played) is a less stable and more difficult to enjoy. Some of the later levels looked pretty damn rough.

Idk why people talk about earlier and later levels. NY runs like shit, Roswell underground and base looks great, courthouse runs like shit again, so does New Orleans, but then Venus runs mostly good, or better than New Orleans, and so does the Auztmerzer. With the patch, New Orleans and Venus run perceptibly better for me, much, much less blurry (Have shots before and after) and better framerate. Idk about the rest of the levels, but the variance should be reduced.

That's not how it works.
I feel like this needs an explanation.
You can name your versions anything you want, but if you follow semantic versionning, this applies:
Given a version number MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH, increment the:
  1. MAJOR version when you make incompatible API changes,
  2. MINOR version when you add functionality in a backwards-compatible manner, and
  3. PATCH version when you make backwards-compatible bug fixes.
Additional labels for pre-release and build metadata are available as extensions to the MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH format.
For games, an example could be that the engine changed and does not do the same thing anymore, but that seems mostly relevant for multiplayer games. Not sure how to apply semver on a standalone product.

Panic Button, doers of the impossible. Are they handling DOOM Eternal? That's the game I most want to see on Switch, just to see how it holds up.

NY is the area I plan to capture for comparison purposes.

I hope they fixed the new orleans bonus missions.
I'm normally not the framerate-guy but these missions are almost unplayable for me.
