I'd love an HD port of Dissidia Duodecim.
A new game would be fine too but I would want an actual sequel to the PSP games and nothing else.

Oh and also Phantasy Star Portable 2 but I don't see that ever happening.

Xenogears remake in Octopath style graphics needs to happen. Best way to preserved the classic feel.

Has Sony given this emulator to third parties to use??

So did Konami need sonys support to make this? Fuck, Konami cannot be bothered. Now is the perfect time to release more than an emulated castlevania! We got the Netflix show and they're going to have representation in Smash. And with all that we're getting a couple of emulated games?! What are you doing, Konami!?

From Konami? Then just bring back Rocket Knight Adventures. And Castlevania Bloodlines.

Lol, most of them are already locked on old Ps hardware, why not bring them to the new one? Smh
Because these will probably die on the PS4 hardware since Sony is more interested in selling you low-effort "remasters" than proper backwards compatibility support.
I would say it's more petty to think it's fine that they are locked to one platform, so long as it's your platform of choice.
Hire anyone else to do the job, and port them everywhere.

So has it been confirmed these are straight ports of the PSP game or is just speculation at this point?

They're a mix of the PS1 and PSP versions combined from what it seems like with other enhancements like trophies, the PS4 controller making sound effects, etc. Sony didn't specify but that's my thinking.

Sony's involved in port?, There it is. Need to find that guy who laughed at me when I speculated sony were involved.

Also for psp ports. Tombi/Tomba. Not sure it'll hold up but I'm willing to try it.

Holy shit there's SO MANY

But, as far as PSP games are concerned, how about Ultimate Ghouls 'n' Ghosts?

As for PS1 Classics, it's obvious what the first one should be - Castlevania Chronicles! Everyone needs to play that version!

If it's only PSP games I'd like to play that Jeanne D'arc game by level-5. It's even a 1st party title so it should be simple apart from making sense financially.

If any game, then I want a full MGS collection as others have said already. Still got my PS3 hooked up mostly because of mgs.

The dream is dead.

But yeah Crisis Core would be nice. If a bit confusing given the remake and its cannon-ness.

Persona seems like the most obvious. PSP has 1 and 2. I honestly would rather get the PS2/FES version of 3 over Portable. And its time for P4G to have a second chance in life outside of the Vita.

Sony should go the next step in their relationship with Konami and buy the Bloody Roar IP from them, and then make a game that sees the franchise return to the glorious heights of 2.

Suikoden I + II. It's also a Konami game, and while not as popular as Castlevania, it still has a very loyal fanbase. Oh yeah, the Persona 1 and 2 remakes would be cool too.
Oh, and the Harvest Moon Back to Nature port!

Are those Castlevania games confirmed ports? I mean, it could be just a PS1/PC-Engine emulator, PS3 played both of those too.

But... these are BC ports from PSP running in an emulator most likely lol, not remasters. Also, if they're doing this at this point of PS4's life cycle, you can expect to play them on PS5 as well. Sony is not spending money on this to just let them die on PS4.

I say let's wait and see before condemning them, changes are coming/are already happening. Sony may surprise us all in the coming months.

"Sony please help me emulate my 20 or so year old games" is a funny thought, but if that's just how it is I'd like to see the PSP MGS titles. I don't know a lot else about the platform, though, so a lot of announcements could be really exciting surprises.

So they reward Nintendo for including Belmont in Super Smash Bros. by publishing an exclusive game on a Sony platform? Yikes. If I were Sakurai I wouldn't include third party characters that don't have games coming out on the Switch (Castlevania, Metal Gear Solid). But that's just me, feel free to think different.

It seems more likely to me So y may have approached Konami about it maybe?

Yeah, Castlevania Requiem is starting to sound a lot like a Sony initiative.

Well let's be happy they did because the last Castlevania game came out in fucking 2014 and Konami sure as hell wasn't going to give us another one because clearly they couldn't even be bothered to release something like this. Thank god we're getting these two even because Konami sure as hell doesn't care about any of their franchises at this point.

Honestly I'd prefer Sony just opens up backwards compatibitly with all their consoles in the next iteration so I don't have to pay for games I've already paid for, in some cases both physically and digitally.

You can't really backwards compatible PSP or Vita games...it's a UMD and cartridge. So these being digital HD updates makes sense.

PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4 you can, kinda. PS3 would be difficult due to the cell so that one I can't see happening.

PS1, PS2, and PS4 should be possible on PS5, however. Disc based backwards compatibility.
