Yup. Wish they would change their minds. Now that we've won on this cross play issue, we need to take up the banner against Microsoft.

That's definitely part of it. Also with allowing downloads on PS Now. Hopefully the'll improve their PS Now catalog as well with newer games to be closer on par with Game Pass. They're ramping up for next gen. They cannot allow Microsoft to lord these benefits over them.

I don't think you make a big event out of a feature you had to catch up with. It highlights that you were previously dragging your feet. Getting this and the PS Now improvements out of the way now seems like a good idea to me.

Now if they can announce full BC with PS1/2/3/4 on PS5, that's something to keep for your console reveal.

Never before have you been able to transfer progress, DLC, etc for a game between different platforms. Its never been a thing before and it's never been an issue before.

Always been Sony's this entire generation. They didn't want to do crossplay and then when they finally got as much out of as they want against public perception finally allow it. Got people in here doing backflips like Sony went on Era, saw the threads and was like, "Oh shit, people want crossplay. Better cave into them!" Sony only finally allowed it to happen when they felt it was the right time. They've had crossplay with P.C. for years now. It hasn't nothing to do with pleasing consumers and all about how they can come out of this looking like a good guy while still getting your money.

Thank God Sony was not stupid on this one. I had faith they would correct the crossplay issue before it became a real problem. From now own gamers will enjoy better and faster matchmaking and the games we enjoy playing online will have a longer live.

I knew John Kodera would see it happen. Not having cross play was going to be a serious disadvantage going into the next generation. It was the locking of Fortnite accounts that was a bridge too far. I'm sure the pressure from publishers and developers allowed Sony to move forward in a new direction. This is only a good thing.

It really sounds like they're pretending this wasn't an anti-consumer practice on their part as the winner this gen, and that they were just developing the tools to make this work, even though it worked unintentionally in the past.

Crazy that Fortnite got big enough to be the one to make this happen though.

Not thanking Sony for this. I'm thanking Epic and the fans that pushed for this.

Glad to see this finally happened though. Now can we push for refunds in the U.S.?

He explicitly says users of different control devices will be separated, as they currently are.

Heads up: 5 minutes ago I wasn't able to link my Switch account to my PS4 account on Epic's website. I now am. Looks like it's enabled.

Fingers crossed. IIRC, signing in with a new account on Switch had language about this being your only Fortnite account with Nintendo. If I can't undo that, there's still a problem.

Where are all the guys from the other thread who were "against" playstation crossplay.

I wish I had kept following that thread so I could quote everyone who had bets against and advocated for Sony never to do this.

But Im guessing the same guys "who were clearly fanboys" are gonna be congratulating Sony on being forward thinking or whatever.

I just linked my PS4 and Switch to a single account. I wasn't able to do that 5 minutes ago. Looks like it's live.

yeah i think Sony just rode it out as long as they could, and why wouldn't they while they were market leader. They played it shrewd and slow, and they had the luxury to

Getting out ahead of this before PS5 being announced means Sony ain't foolin around about maintaining their marketshare
