This is the most correct statement in the thread.
Until DMCV.
I liked DmC Dante. At least the developers knew it was over the top, dumb and cheesy. I really think the Japanese devs were trying to make a genuinely "cool" character with DMC1-4.
Uhhh Nero had a demon arm back in dmc4
The first thing I thought when I saw the new Nero was that they adopted the protagonist's design for DMCV once that project fell through. They look too similar to deny, even down to the mutated/false arm.
The scraps people are pawing at for anything remotely resembling the reboot in DMC5 as some weird gotcha thing is just bizarre. I think people get that the reboot has fans, but having so many threads about every minor thing when there's so much more of every other DMC game in it (particularly in what's most important, how it plays) kinda makes them seem pathetic at this point. Reboot Dante took a lot from Nero in the first place, and his portrayal in 5 is a far cry from that even then. Move on.
Easily one of the greatest cinematic moments in gaming history.

I never said SFIV looks better than V. I said Ken in SFIV looks better than Fake Ken from SFV.
I'm just pointing out how these DMC "fans" bashed DmC Dante because of his looks and dialogue, and yet "Nero" is pretty much an exact clone of him in V and people are loving him. DmC Dante got unnecessary hate because he was the lead of the reboot.
I'm in the same boat as you. SFIV is the better looking game, just compare both versions of Ken (the only character that matters)
People in this thread will disagree with you, but the majority of the people agree with us. The reason why SFV sold so poorly was once the general public saw how Ken looked they didn't want to purchase the game. Capcom can't be bothered to fix him, so the best solution that they gave us was armor covering face.
SFV is the better looking game.... lol ok.
And if you scroll down, you see that I'm specifically talking about Ken. Why cherry pick? Why didn't you just post the entire post.
Yeah, you're not wrong. When the previous installment looks better you have to say to what went wrong.
If lack of content is why it didn't do well, then why didn't the Arcade Edition set the charts on fire? We all know the real reason why the game didn't sell. It's because Ken Masters is missing.
The game can still be a hit. They need to release an Ultra edition with Ken on the cover so people know he's in the game.
It's not to late @Capcom. You can still turn it around, just put in the real Ken Masters.
Just take a look at Fake Ken from SFV and Ken from SFIV. SFIV is the better looking game.
Now go post a picture of Fake Ken from SFV and Ken from SF IV. And then you'll be like shiit, SFIV does look better.
So you never looked at Ken from SFV. Anybody who says that looks better than anything in IV needs to get their eyes checked.
And if you scroll down, you see that I'm specifically talking about Ken. Why cherry pick? Why didn't you just post the entire post.
OP didn't play DMC4 it seemsI mean I think all the true DMC fans of the series know that the "Nero" we're seeing in DMCV trailers is actually Dante from DmC. DmC Dante snuck in V, and took Nero's spot.
A)Take a look at his looks
You can't fool my eyes.
B) Personality
For those people who have seen the leaked trailer a month ago
You see Nero has developed quite a potty mouth, who wouldn't stop swearing. It looked like they ripped the dialogue straight out of DmC from Dante.
Capcom put in DmC Dante in V, and the majority of people didn't even notice. Man the dude got all this hate for no reason because he was the star of the reboot, but now people seem to love him in V. So can we all admit that Dante wasn't that bad in DmC? Also with Nero gone, where the hell is?!
It's because it's already been established that Classic Dante rocks NuDante's look better than NuDante even did.The funny thing is that, at least as far as I've seen, no one seems upset about the fact that Dante's alt is of DmC Dante.
I liked DmC Dante. At least the developers knew it was over the top, dumb and cheesy. I really think the Japanese devs were trying to make a genuinely "cool" character with DMC1-4.
DmC Dante has an arc. Don't know if I can say the same about DMC Dante.

Anyone else get the urge to replay DMC after all this? I kinda do. Yeah the character was just a mess, but I liked the gameplay. Think I might install it tonight.

This post is why games journalism is dead.
Arkham in DMC3 has more character than the entire DmC cast combined
I liked DmC Dante. At least the developers knew it was over the top, dumb and cheesy. I really think the Japanese devs were trying to make a genuinely "cool" character with DMC1-4.
He looks like he should be hunting vampires more than demons lolIt's because it's already been established that Classic Dante rocks NuDante's look better than NuDante even did.
Man that's some meme text, but the difference in posture and expression does do it - Nero says "I'm here to kill you and see if I can make it fun." DmC says "hmph, whatever."
I liked DmC Dante. At least the developers knew it was over the top, dumb and cheesy. I really think the Japanese devs were trying to make a genuinely "cool" character with DMC1-4.
The "design" documents Ninja Theory presented show the exact opposite.I liked DmC Dante. At least the developers knew it was over the top, dumb and cheesy. I really think the Japanese devs were trying to make a genuinely "cool" character with DMC1-4.
If you're into the meth head look sure.
And a good thing they did, my boi in tight letter pants having people ask if that's a spare blue rose barrel in there.
Gotta take a win where they can get it.The scraps people are pawing at for anything remotely resembling the reboot in DMC5 as some weird gotcha thing is just bizarre. Makes perfect sense when you realize that the character design thing wasn't ever a big deal except in strawman arguments. The funny thing is that, at least as far as I've seen, no one seems upset about the fact that Dante's alt is of DmC Dante.
My DmC DE disc doesn't work for some reason.
