I started rewatching Hilda today, this time with my little sister. Keep in mind that I just never do this, but Hilda is a damn exception. So, my sister is 8, and we're on episode 3 by now, and she's deeply engrossed with the show so far, captivated and invested on the weird creatures that inhabit this mysterious world! She thinks Wood Man is very rude, and she was in awe from how tall the giants looked like. The artstyle and the cuteness of it all helps too.
We had to stop at the middle of Episode 3, and she was actually sad that we couldn't continue, and that she would have to wait until tomorrow afternoon to continue watching it with me (because I said we had to watch it together, as an incentive for a family activity).
It's so great to be able to connect with her via this show. Unfortunately, it's a rare occasion, she usually just watches these annoying "teenager" pseudo-sitcoms, Lab Rats from Disney and the like. When she watched actual children cartoons, none of those were deep enough to have me interested as well. I tried to get her into Gravity Falls, but she doesn't get the jokes and thinks it's too confusing. This way it's an amusing experience for the both of us!
