Red Sox win a franchise record 106 games, and clinch the No. 1 seed...

In the AL the only race we really have left is if the yankees or As will have homefield advantage. however the NL has a lot of fun going into the last few days.

The east doesn't matter,

however between the other two divisions you have 5 teams going for 4 spots.

the cards have a very small outside shot for the division, but only if they win the next 5 games and the cubs lose their next two (cubs and cards face at the end of the season so those games the cubs obviously would lose) They are more interesting in the sense of fighting the dodgers and rockies for the second wild card spot.

the brewers could pass the cubs and take the division, but if they don't, there are high odds they can secure a wild card spot, but it's not for sure, there is also a good chance this will decide the best record in the NL.

meanwhile the dodgers and rockies are also only 1.5 difference like the cubs and brewers, but unlike the cubs and brewers there is a good chance which ever doesn't win the division doesn't make the playoffs unless the cards go on a losing streak.

just a few more days and we will have all the answers.

I will not be satisfied until the Rockies get the division and LA/St Louis have to fight it out for the 2nd WC
I'm fine with this.
LA/ST can face the cubs and knock them out in the wild card game and then face off and lose to the Brewers before the Brewers go face the Rockies to see who goes to the world series.

Ideally the A's knock out the yankees and then the red sox on the AL side, and then i won't really have to care who wins it all. I would prefer if the Astros got knocked out fairly quickly too, but I don't have to much issue with them winning two in a row given it will likely be 10-15 years after this current team is split up before they have another chance.

I'm pretty sure the Rockies are going to slip into the playoffs just based on the weakness of their schedule. Unless the Phillies or Nationals suddenly become world beaters when it doesn't matter. Doubt the Rockies get the division though.

Rockies sneaking in would make me happy because that means the Cardinals wouldn't make the playoffs. But at the same time right now I sort of need to root for the Cardinals because they're probably going to be essential if the Brewers want to take NL Central title. If the Cubs division lead is 1 game or a 1.5 going into the final series, the Cubs division hopes could be in jeopardy since the Cardinals are basically going to be playing for their playoff lives, meanwhile Milwaukee will be taking on the Tigers.

Best case scenario would be something crazy like the Pirates sweeping the Cubs so that the Brewers take the division title and the Cardinals miss the playoffs. But that's almost definitely not happening.

How about we all collectively root for the Cubs to lose out and miss the playoffs all together
