This reminds me of the guy that paid a shitload of cash to play No Man's Sky one week earlier.
I Hope this buyer doesn't meet the same fate.

Let's face it - the rich are getting richer. What regular people think is a crazy amount of money is nothing to well off people. US$7100 - people pay that for a first class flight for 6 hours.

I predict earlier access is going to be even worse on the next generation of consoles.

They'll have 4 or 5 tiers with the first and second tiers almost a month early (effectively when the game is gold anyway). Streamers love this and will pay it.

Heck people who don't want to pay $60 wait half a year or more for discounts.

It's true. What's sad is the really rich don't pay for anything because of connections. I always found that ironic.

But the people who need to be saving get tricked and are willing to give what little hard earned cash they have up so they can brag about having something a few days or hours early, willing to give multi billion dollar companies money up front interest free for content that's not even developed yet. I told my friend the other day why let a corporation hold your money and earn interest on it while you get nothing until months later?

I garuntee the really rich wouldn't.
They either work connections to get the product free or they would only pay for what was ready to be consumed by them.

The rich get richer because their money literally earns more money for them. They don't give up their cash nearly as easy as everyone else but the illusion that they do benefits them and helps widen the gap.

I should have gotten my payday when I got my Wii Fit 7-10 days early. To be fair, that was only for western release, since Japan version had been out for a while. But still, someone would have probably paid something.

I mean, I could see a bid like that if the game in question was like Cyberpunk 2077 or Death Stranding but fucking Mario Party?

That is insane.
Yeah, that s what the gamescom demo of cp2077 would fetch... But here for mario party xD
It would be damn funny if the parcel service fucked it up and deliver the game after the release date.

Imagine paying $7,100 to brag to people on the internet that you have a game a few days early.
which one of you was it?

My theory: the $7000 bid was the person who lost it, trying not to lose their job. Or it was Nintendo, trying to ensure no one could buy it.

Like most eBay auctions like this, I just assume that bids are fake and the person isn't getting paid.

Loving the low-key Mario Party trolling in this topic when

1. The person paying that much for this most probably isn't paying to play it "one week early" but is paying to own something that is impossible to buy and might be worth more in the future, or at the very least for bragging rights

2. Some people actually genuinely do like this series and play multiplayer games primarily.

I don't follow you on this; it will literally be worth much less in a week. There's no way it's going up in price, it's not a special edition or something, it's a normal, very damaged copy of Super Mario Party: you won't be able to resell it for more than a bunch of dollars in two weeks.

This is some really expensive bragging rights. I get it if it was a prototype, but it's just a likely review copy of the retail game.

If you are willing to shell out over 7 grand for Mario party, then you truly fit the phrase "a fool and his money are soon parted" to a t.

I'm surprised Dan dropped that much cash, he is notoriously cheap, but I guess that's what you do for love.

Most people are in it for the combined content bonus and early access, not just one or the other. Many of us were buying the ultimate editions prior to the added perk.

Yeah i know. It was just a response to show that publishers are already offering early access for ther games. I would've bought the ultimate edition of AC:Od without early access to so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

According to the seller he found it in an airport lol.

You know, I'd believe this.

But this:
for this..

Is really suspect. How and why is it so damaged?
