I think I'm going to get the New Gundam Breaker game if it doesn't work out I'll just refund it. I've played Gundam Breaker 3 on my Vita and liked it, I know that people say GB3 is way better but I'm still willing to give this game a try

Please report your thoughts. I really loved Gundam Breaker 2 on vita and 3 (the most recent release before switching dev teams I think) on PS4. I'm hesitant on the new one because of the huge backlash at launch so it would be good to hear your thoughts.

So anyone knows what is this? The description makes it look so deep in elements that I'm kinda curious about it. It's been on the top sellers list since it came out. No multilingual support though...

So would it be possible for say a game like VC4 on PC to outsell the N/S version or is that very unlikely

Would it kill Konami to just dump the Silent Hill games on Steam? They could even do it in the most Konami way possible and put them up as is and let the community durante patch them for modern systems.

Haven't played anything in a few days. Spent the whole weekend working my ass off, every day is a struggle to keep the bank account from dropping under 0. Shit's getting old really fast.
Haven't seen the ending credits of a game in several months though I guess it's my fault for playing mostly RPGs (or just having a knack for long games like Yakuza 0 and Horizon).

That's how I feel , just been too swamped with stupid work stuff. I was hyped to see Ben 10 credits and that is only a 3 hour game and I took about 3 weeks to beat it lol. Apparently I only have about an hour or so a week for gaming while I'm watching football games.

Decided I will save longer games for holiday time when things should start slowing down. I find I can't enjoy the games that require much more investment with all the silly work stuff going on in my head.

Been slowly going thru LEGO ninjago.
Loved what I played of Yakuza back when it launched on PS4 and horizon zero dawn I have downloaded but never launched. I'm so ashamed lol.

I thought Konami was only dropping pachinko machines...

probably dx11, unless the steam page is correct, and it's dx9.

Yeah it ended up being DX9. Saw your post pre-edit and did try DX11, but couldn't get ReShade's overlay to boot in-game. Swapped over to DX9 and tada.

Anyway, this is fun.

Edit: Also using the HD character model mod. Durante's Canvas fix + no border and no streak mods. Now I just gotta do the PS buttons mod.

So I played the game and maybe I'm just not remembering GB3 very well but this game just felt slow (combat and movement wise)

I have no idea how thought of this but you can't change your settings until after the first story event is finished which is about 10-20 minutes in.

I think based off what I have seen so far I am going to refund this and buy it when it's 20. I'm getting 90fps in this game (I should tone the settings down since everything is set on ultra for some reason) and then the enemies start blasting and it's not 40fps, at which point the game feels even slower than it already is.

Based of what little I played I didn't like what I saw and for what every reason when I was looking at the Gunpla database in game it took the game like 2 seconds to load some textures in, not sure why though, well at least it doesn't have a fps cap.

One thing that was very weird is that the game (in addition to Denuvo) uses some anti cheat service, which I guess is for when you play online against others? Which is rather stupid since I just tried to play with some other people and it just left me in the waiting lobby 4/6 was the closest that I saw to actually being in a match against other real players. Options in general for this game seems very bare, not only from the settings but also from the game itself.

What I kind of find funny now that I think about it, is that DSR I think is the only "recent" Bandai game that did not use Denuvo

So mad they didn't port 3 , it's so fun.

I also have real sympathy for the new devs as I've been on a team like that before. You get handed a franchise with no support from the previous developer, new assets , new engine, tight deadlines and of course consumers have high expectations as they assume you will be building off the previous product. But it's near impossible because that previous team has so much tribal knowledge and customized their game engine over the years to get things feeling good.

*sigh*

This is one of the first games that even Amazon pulled it was getting such terrible reviews. I was excited to support a Gundam game on PC but I'll have to wait for a deep sale like you.

Thanks for the write up!

anyone know how the recent PC releases from koei have been.

I'm tempted to get warriors orochi 4 on PC

since it will likely take 5-10 years for me to get through all the content/characters, but I'd rather not sign up for a game with poor performance if it's like their earlier ports.

Seems like their recent ports were decent. Nioh was fantastic, for example. While DW9 is mostly negative, but the complaints are mostly about the actual game not the port.

However, you can't be too cautious with KT games. Always wait for user reviews.

my plan was to wait in general. As I have some other releases from this month and next to play first, but I hadn't been keeping track of their PC releases very well since they don't seem to have many decent sales on their pc versions of games while the console versions always drop like rocks.

Well you got CA and that's about it.

Yes, I'm a fan of the effect for certain aesthetics. Surely that's not the only difference you notice though?

I mean, I did say I was just playing around with it as I prepare to replay VC before playing VC4. Currently it's also using film grain, filmic pass, levels, SMAA (which I need to adjust strongly), vignette, border, and a few others I'm forgetting atm. Still testing and working on it. I don't really have an idea what I'm even looking for in the end, maybe a more 90's anime aesthetic...

Also I play at 4K, and I think the forum is downscaling my images in quotes or spoilers. Stuff like film grain should be readily apparent upon careful observation at full resolution.

Browsing Kotaku's 'Every Big Game Coming Out Fall 2018' list and noticed a game I've never even heard of until today:

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales

Um, what!? CDprojekt need to hype up post-Blood & Wine Witcher stuff more, I can't have any of this slip by my radar.

The reason why its in the topsellers is that it was HUGE on Douyu (chinese twitch). Its kind of an "tell your own story" game with strategy elements, RPG elements and micromanagement.

Its a bit like FTL. One of those "Just one more game!" kind of games.

It's a Gwent single player RPG. Yeah, sounds crazy. Even I still have no idea what kind of game is it.

Seen it a few places, being a title spun off from their standalone Gwent game, but probably depends how interested in their standalone Gwent game one is. I'm not sure how Thronebreaker plays actually.

The splitting-off of the single-player Gwent campaign into the standalone Thronebreaker title was only announced in the past week or so.

I think Gwent's gonna implode (both Thronebreaker and the MP). Overhyped minigame that was a nice distraction and they listened too much to people overestimating it.

The thing is, the number one request players wanted from a standalone Gwent to begin with was a mobile version which still doesn't exist (in fact at the time it seemed like the only platform people wanted it on). That said the standalone Gwent is a radically different vibe than the original anyway.

I'm more optimistic about Thronebreaker though, since I loved the cutscene style they've adapted from the original game and seems there's some on foot overworld type thing.

Not possible. JRPG audience on PC is too small to compete with Switch's. Yeah, VC sold like a million, but it was only achieved after a few years and some huge sales. It's also $20.
I do not think the majority of the audience interested in the game are there for the JRPG-ness of it, at least not on PC. General strategy games are insanely popular on computers and Valkyria is very distinct and eye-catching.

I think on consoles it will sell better initially (mostly due to a retail presence), but in the long term I expect the PC version to do best overall.

Bah, an annoying thing happened yesterday with Steam.

I have a lot of categories for my millions of games as im sure you all do. I was having a slow day at work yesterday and so i thought i would log into my Steam account and play a bit of Kerbal Space Program (because im hooked on it at the moment). I havent logged in at work for quite a while and when i did all my recent categories have disappeared and i just have one big long list of games.

Then when logging in back at home on my main PC it seems to have sync'd the work PC settings and so all my categories are gone. Why wouldn't it use the PC at home which is my main one and the only one that ive logged into for the last 6 months as the master? Is there a setting im missing?

Don't sleep on Myst 3 and 4, they are both very good. The fact the games are co-published with Ubisoft makes me thing there won't be a deep discount in the near future. Also TWD The Final Season Episode 2 is out. Also apparently Cyan updated Riven including the italian language, and III and IV have both full italian dub too, but Myst 1 which was also dubbed in italian is english only.

Categories are stored in userdata\[user ID]\7\remote\sharedconfig.vdf, which is stored remotely and supposed to be synced by Steam, but this is a bit iffy and doesn't always happen.

Iratus Lord Of The Dead has been delayed. Beta will probably start in December with an Early Access release in February next year.

[ Tizoc just a heads up for your October thread.]

The current version of Gwent is my favorite card game, so if it implodes in the end, at least, it was worth it. I hope we get a nice single-player campaign to top it off. I believe it will play like the seasonal campaigns in 2017, which played like card puzzles within a quest context.

Yeah. Iffy is the word. Ill know for next time so thanks for the file path. So it must of not sync'd when i logged into the work PC but then uploaded that file to sync when i got home. Its a shame you cant set like a 'master' location to be the main one.

Oh well, tonight i will be re-making my categories when I should be building rockets to the Mun.

I am excited for the game too, really could use a musou to chip away at for a few months until the big stuff hits next year but I also am not gonna do anything till the reviews hit.
