So thoughts on Captain Marvel after trailer 1?
It's going to do over 40 million views and a million likes in a week, so clearly there is a ton of interest. That said reception to the trailer seemed a bit more muted than I had thought the first reveal would be. I'm still expecting it to be huge but I think the next trailer needs to be a lot stronger.
I'll say this, Marvel is expecting this to be massive. I was in Target and they had the trailer playing on all the TVs in the electronics section on a loop almost non stop. Never seen that for a movie that far out and that quickly after the original trailer released. I honestly think Marvel / Disney are expecting this to be a Billion Club movie

It was when they boarded the ship is when I tapped out, visually too much going on and not meaning anything

With the reveal of Angela Basset being in Bumblebee we may have a new entrant for Highest Grossing Actress of 2018. BP+Fallout+Bumblebee might put her in the contention.
Had to do a double-take on my calendar to make sure it wasn't 1999.
That's like a soda ad. I expected one of the ad guys to open a Pepsi one with venom on the side.
Nil.I wonder what the odds of Leto's Morbius showing up in a post credits scene are
He just killed those fucking people in the car smh.
Rumors from Russia are Oct 2nd.
I'm really excited for the "Marvel fanboy critics hate Venom cause it's not part of the MCU" narratives to come out when it inevitably gets scores similar to Suicide Squad.
I'll stick with my 27% RT prediction. Nothing about that movie looks appealing.
I haven't heard a single good thing about this.
t took much time for Sony whether they wanted this to be PG-13 or R-rated do they decided to rush a new cut of the movie without any R-rated elements. Like, they didn't bother to order an extra shot for the scenes when they were still filming last year, when they still didn't know what rating to go for. I heard not even the Oscar winning editor they brought in could save it so when his disjointed, overdubbed theatrical cut got screened with zero positive reception the heads decided to push the embargo lift coincidentally one day before it opened on South Korea.
You have to see it to believe it.
Does it even count as a flop? $3mil for a documentary doesn't sound terrible and is already enough for 78th-highest grossing per BOM https://www.boxofficemojo.com/genres/chart/?id=documentary.htm
I guess for most people, going to see a movie that talks about the same thing they see everyday on their social media feeds is not an attractive proposition. People are just tired of angry political talk. Back in 2004, Fahrenheit 9/11 had the benefit of modern social media not being a thing.Fahrenheit flopping is weird. i didnt even realize it was out. im pretty sure trump is hated more than bush ever was.
"FUCKING critics get bribed by Disney to only give positive reviews to MCU films and shit on everything else
besides wonder woman
and logan
and dark knight
and deadpool
and dark knight rises
and deadpool 2

Enjoy 3 pages of 5 people vehemently saying that Suicide Squad was good actually, it was just misunderstood and in time everyone else will see

I hope the OT title references how even Spider-Man 3 is better than this movie will be
A Florida-based theater company that once had a location in the Fort Henry Mall has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Frank Theatres of Jupiter, Fla., filed the notices in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of Florida this summer. The filings were for four different entities: Frank Entertainment Companies, Frank Theatres Management, Frank Investments and the Rio Mall shopping center in Rio Grande, New Jersey.
According to court records, the reason for the bankruptcy filing is because Frank Theatres was unable to absorb the expenses associated with the closing of its unprofitable theaters. The closings created significant liabilities with the theaters' former landlords, the court filings state.
As for the bankruptcy of the Rio Mall property, Frank's said in court documents the mall faced financial difficulties because of a slow payment by one significant tenant and the vacancy of a majority of the shopping center due to a K-mart store closing in 2017.
Venom |OT| We're Trash, Brock
It'll need $2b.Does Venom need $1.3 billion to break even like Suicide Squad?

It'll need $2b.
It'll probably do fine for its budget, but I don't see it getting more than $150m domestic. I bet it's pretty front-loaded.
