Searching added $3.6m from 30 [markets] for $31.1m. South Korea added $805K in its fourth session for an outstanding $20.9m tally
Searching continues to impress. We're probably going to get plenty of films attempting to copy the formula now that Searching has proven that it can be a success.
The Snapchat Around the CornerWe're getting a You've Got Mail remake announcement any day now and I'll be all for it.

A remake of Down Periscope shot entirely in Periscope.
Eli Roth's name being attached is what is making me NOT want to see the movie.
However, Eric Kripke writing does make me sway back.
I had no idea that the House With The Clock In It's Wall would end up with that three day gross. Presumably it has some built in audience already because most people I spoke to assumed it was a Netflix series or something.
It seems like the 'middle' for studio films isn't completely dead.
And what is the thinking on The Nun's final worldwide gross, $325m or even as much as $350?
I haven't seen the new trailer but the thought of watching a new Transformer movie after the one that ended in china(i don't know which is it because they blur together) makes me fatigued just thinking about itSo uh... Bumblebee actually looks good.
December 14 - 21 is looking more and more like it's going to be a fucking bloodbath
If Wikipedia is correct, Bumblebee only had a budget of $102m, which would give it a huge leg up over Alita and Aquaman; I can't imagine those other movies having budgets lower than $150m-$200mSo uh... Bumblebee actually looks good.

People, generally, are tired of Trump and politics. They don't want to spend their money, and rising movie tickets prices, on getting upset. They want escapism.3.1 million for fahrenheit 11/9 seems surprisingly low given how charged the political climate in the US is

Think about it, lefties will have more things to stew about and righties won't watch their guy get criticized for 90 minutes. Movie was bound to fail.
Robort is known for working cheap. Probably his most expensive movie but I bet it is still cheaper than what someone else would have doneIf Wikipedia is correct, Bumblebee only had a budget of $102m, which would give it a huge leg up over Alita and Aquaman; I can't imagine those other movies having budgets lower than $150m-$200m
Wikipedia links to an Indiwire article from 2017 that claims $175m-$200m. Not sure how reliable that is, though.Robort is known for working cheap. Probably his most expensive movie but I bet it is still cheaper than what someone else would have done
No way, that has to count all the years of development hell. If those numbers are true that might make it the biggest bomb in some timeWikipedia links to an Indiwire article from 2017 that claims $175m-$200m. Not sure how reliable that is, though.
Saw it earlier today, thought it was excellent as wellI went along to see Assassination Nation yesterday.
Was not expecting much, but woah. What a movie.
Its a shame they didn't market this well. It will hopefully find its audience on streaming

That movie was a literal asswhoopping to watch. I felt like I had been in a street fight after watching it
I saw the first Transformers in the dollar theater and disliked it, so I didn't see the others. I almost got fooled into seeing the second one after its first trailer, but MovieBob set me straight.
People in my friend circle were hyping up that first movie in almost exactly the same way that they would hype up The Dark Knight the following year, so as you can imagine I was extremely disappointed with it.Made it halfway through the first DVD at home. Never looked back.
My 15-year-old ass got suckered into the hype circle for TF2 somehow. I remember that movie being the first time I actually became critical of blockbusters I watched.I saw the first Transformers in the dollar theater and disliked it, so I didn't see the others. Saw Predator last night. I kept checking my phone to see if it was almost over. That was real bad.
It was when they boarded the ship is when I tapped out, visually too much going on and not meaning anythingAge of Extinction is the one I never saw in theaters.
I realized about halfway through the final fight watching at home that I wasn't even watching anymore despite staring at the screen.
Last time I got drunk and watched Age of Extinction (I have a habit of drinking and watching Bay movies in their entirety) I started writing a musical in my head about how terrible of a parent/human being Cade Yeager really is.

That said, I can't be mad at summer 2009 because goddamn was Star Trek a great blockbuster that year.
I see no liesI had to mute the word to stop it from taking up my entire feed. It's the wonderful 101 of films. Ten people saw it, but those ten won't shut up about it
I feel like the movie's going to be more light-hearted than the trailer indicated, and we didn't really see that besides Blockbuster Video and CM punching that old lady in the faceSo thoughts on Captain Marvel after trailer 1?
It's going to do over 40 million views and a million likes in a week, so clearly there is a ton of interest. That said reception to the trailer seemed a bit more muted than I had thought the first reveal would be. I'm still expecting it to be huge but I think the next trailer needs to be a lot stronger.
I'll say this, Marvel is expecting this to be massive. I was in Target and they had the trailer playing on all the TVs in the electronics section on a loop almost non stop. Never seen that for a movie that far out and that quickly after the original trailer released. I honestly think Marvel / Disneybare expecting this to be a Billion Club movie
Either that or Thanksgiving.
