So, I got rid of android and moved to iPhone with an XS Max and I am looking for some games, paid or free. I prefer to just pay one time, not a fan of in app purchases but whatever. Anything good out there for mobile? I am not a huge mobile gamer but having a few pick up games are always good and I see a greater selection of games here than android. I can do RPGs, action, etc. Anything honestly.

Device 6 - very unusual game, more like interactive fiction, that is exclusive to iOS. Was my first game that I bought for iPhone, very interesting experience. No iaps.
Also Super Hexagon and Impossible Road - great small games for couple of minutes (or, in case of Super Hexagon, seconds) of fun. Also no iaps.
My personal favorite is Hoplite - small but surprisingly deep tactical puzzle rogue like. No iaps either.

Subbing this thread. First time iPhone owner and don't know what game to get?

Device 6 looks right up my alley. I'll check that out.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm just dropped, that'll be good on commutes.

Arena of Valor & Vainglory are always safe bets for PvP.

Runescape drops soon, that will be a fun MMO option.

80 Days is a lovely choose your own adventure style book game.

The Witness is the greatest puzzle game created.

Downloaded Life Is Strange. Never played it so it'll be good on my over hour commute going and coming from work.

If you're into them, I can't recommend the Sonic the Hedgehog iOS ports highly enough. They were actually remade from the ground up for iOS so they are HD and widescreen while maintaining the original look. They're compatible with Bluetooth controllers too, so that's a plus, but the touchscreen controls are workable

Recent one i'm loving is Donut County.

It's fun in the beginning, but for me it got old fast and never manages to be challenging enough, you just do the same thing over and over again. I like the presentation though.

Steamworld Heist is my favorite mobile game ever! Imagine XCOM in a 2d space where you control the trajectory of your bullets. Friendly cast of characters. I finished the campaign in 15h

Meteorfall: The journey is a great and easy card game.

Alto's journey/odyssey is beautiful, relaxing and great for shorts bursts.

Ridiculous fishing is addictive and fun.

Asphalt 9 is the graphical showcase and actually a fun racing game for mobile (ignore the micro transactions)

Subbed, wish there was a wishlist. I thought there used to be on the iOS store, but can't seem to find it.

Gruntilda’s Lair
  • Swordigo- Action/Adventure Metroidvania platformer that actually controls really well
  • Stranger Things- Zelda clone that does its job very well. Based off of the Netflix show
  • Parashoot Stan- A vertical, drop down "runner" game developed by the lead designer and voice of Conker, Chris Seavor
  • Dan the Man- Action/Adventure brawler. Actually quite long and fun to play
  • Punch Quest-Sidescroller "runner" beat 'em up
  • Twist Pilot- Another game from former Rare devs. Pretty much getting this thing called Phil from point A to B. Fairly challenging
  • Mario Run- Can't go wrong with Mario?
  • Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp- It's sort of like the mainline Animal Crossing games, but different. Just view it as a spin-off of sorts?
  • Fire Emblem: Heroes- Fire Emblem with a smaller party and smaller maps pretty much

10000000 (ten million) and its sequel You Must Build a Boat are wonderful match 3 RPGs with a ending to reach.

Anything by Simogo. Start with Year Walk (play it in the dark, and you'll need the companion app for... well, you'll see). Then Device 6. Both are complete 2-3 hour experiences.

New Star Manager is a football manager game where the matches play like Superhot.

Hoplite is a perfect short burst phone game. Once it clicks, you'll realise it's genius.

If you missed it on the DS, The World Ends With You: Solo Remix is an amazing game. I prefer this one to the DS version, but I'm aware that there are people who disagree.

I personally love Card Crawl and Card Thief. Also Solitairica. All three are solitaire variants x rpg elements. Also anything from Rayark (Voez, Deemo, Cytus, Cytus 2). Shadowgun Legends (a Destiny clone) is also good.

Also i would recommend PostKnight (some sort of clicker + rpg, charming and with plenty to do), Marvel Spiderman Unlimited (runner + gatcha), Rogue´s Life, Really Bad Chess, Showa Candy Shop 2, Hungry Cat Picross, Two Eyes and Mandora.

Subbed to this thread too. The monthly sub is good for new releases but as a new iPhone owner, I'll have missed a lot over the last few years which won't get mentioned in the monthly threads.

My Q also....And iTunes movies and Music?
You should be able to wishlist movies and music since the iTunes app is different and better than the App Store app. For a company so focused on controlling user experience it is kind of boggling that they don't at least maintain feature parity between the two.

Definitely try Guns of Boom, if you like first person shooters and PvP. Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition is great. Mercs of Boom or Xcom are still great turn-based strategies.

Any good incremental games? I love some of them (paper clips, kittens, a dark room) and don't like the vast majority of them. Any recommendations would be great.

-Spaceplan
-Realm Grinder is fair with its IAPs
-Rule with an Iron Fish

Kairosoft games are kinda incremental if you don't mind checking in more often than you would a clicker.

Candy Crush.
As lame as it is from the outset, it is bloody addictive - plenty of IAP and up-sell attempts but if you ignore it, then its quite fun to spend some time on it every day.

Sky Force Reloaded
Really fun side-scroller shooter

Raptor
Old school DOS game on the IOS

There's a lack of board games here.

Pandemic is fantastic. One of my favorite board games and it's so much fun on my phone during my long commutes.

Through the Ages is also fantastic and supports iPhone X resolution.

I was thinking of getting Monster hunter stories. But I'm also struggling to find games, recently downloaded FF brave exvius, but I'm trying to stay away from f2p and play paid games with no micro transactions.
